Very good video. Thank you. I think you might have a little misunderstanding. It's a crush washer that will be crushed during installation. The oil film is put on the filter gasket to allowing it to slide on the mounting surface while tightening the filter. Some prople also fill the filter with oil prior to installation so engine doesn't run without lubricant for the time it takes the pump to fill the filter.

But i am an idiot and assumed oil changes consist of taking apart a bunch of stuff just to get to the oil filter. Thanks again
