- In this episode of wild untold car stories, I share with you how I took another L by buying the cheapest W211 Mercedes-Benz E500 with the M113 V8 and ended up being a disaster.
The M113 is famously known for its reliability, while the drivetrain is reliable, the car might not be after air suspension issues

w210 is the last lower cost maintenance E class
Sorry you had to let it go. It's a wonderful sleeper when air springs work. I can say that when I drive my E55 with the M113K with a big smile!
Don't buy facelift if you want reliability. M113 is better. You can find an e500 without the airmatic option or you can always switch over to coils
So, Scotty is right after all.
Endlesss money pits (with the hand gestures)
Only if you pay the Mercedes tax to a mechanic . Cheap fix ($400 for 2 struts) otherwise. But I suppose you’d need to actually know how to use a spanner then. Lol
@@neolion8150 If you know hot to repair it (and have time), you can buy any car.
You look pretty young and a hard lesson for you to learn. Cheap to buy but money pits. Never touch with high mileage European cars unless you are loaded with cash
I guess everyone just has a different experience with them.
You need to be able to fix cars yourself if you buy one of these.
$200 a strut and usually just replace fronts or rears (leak) easy job (2-3hrs) unless you buy any 290k car and have no idea. Mercedes are the same to work on as any car.
Buying a 290,000 car and saying it was a disaster because you obviously have no mechanical ability is a bit rich. $400 and you would of had a Fn great car but you sold at a loss. That’s on you not the car.
Shit. A jack, a socket set and a few spanners was all you needed to do the job.
Looking for your buyer in the comments . . . .
the mask tells everything....
These cars are great, if they've been well maintained. If they've been owned by a poor idiot who never did maintenance due to financial struggles, DONT buy it from them.
If it is dirt cheap, there is a reason for that...
