    Definitely one of those unlucky cases cuz these cars in general are super reliable ofc more expensive than others but for what you get beyond worth it I will say tho your biggest mistake was not getting it inspected or learning of all these possible “common” issues beforehand I did 3 months of research before I bought my 2014 CLS550 almost a year later and lots of miles (145k now) it’s the best car I’ve ever owned and will pay whatever I have to to keep her going I got a few shorts on my channel of it with a straight piped exhaust I think that should be your next mod 😁👍🏼

    I think you just got super unlucky with that car. I bought my 2014 CLS 63 AMG S at 70,000 miles and am at 85,500 miles and have had zero issues knock on wood. The only issue i had was a front left control arm and a leaking grease boot for one of the axles. Other than that it's pretty reliable.

      @@mahrezmusictv8053 the control arm was 300$ for the part itself. labor was free i did it myself it was easy. the axle i got done for free by a buddy but the part was like almost 600.

    Unlucky bro, enjoyed your video. For the m157 I recommend checking the cam position sensors and cam solenoid wiring harness connections for oil, can reach your ecu and screw it up, easy DIY fix. also remember to disconnect the stupid oil pump solenoid connection so the engine has normal oil pressure at all rpms. And always run 98 premium fuel!

    Change in oil on Mercedes is fucking easy. People be thinking this is a Bugatti or Bentley when it comes to oil change.

    Same thing when I bough a 2010 c63. Only lasted me a week , Headbolts , lifters , cams, camshaft adjusters. All in cost me 4500 to get back on the road. Car got totaled 3 months later 😢

    It doesn’t sound stock from the stock ones I’ve watched videos on… the turbo whistle sounds like it’s had some tune or straight pipes but Idno, looking to get a 2014 cls63 and all I do is watch videos on this car 😂

    Any idea about the cls 63s 4 Matic (2017). If anyone have any advice or impressions about it. I’m planning to buy one in the coming week I’m still negotiating with the owner. If anyone have any thought about it feel free. Thank you

      By 2017 they've sort out a lot of the issues the early m157s had such as the timing chain and cylinder walls, so it'll be a solid purchase. Avoid models pre-2012 (except for me, the one in the video is 2011 because i like to live life on the edge)

    3:10 right from this moment I would say hard NO to the car. if owner can't maintain airmatic suspension properly and get it to this stage, for sure engine, transmission and other components will be cooked. you have to be REALLY unresponsible to get CLS63 especially W218 gen to be maintenance nightmare like this, I own one myself, 2014 AWD PRE LCI, tuned to about 800 hp for last 10k miles, I have no issues with the car.
    they do come with LSD differential btw, but it was an optional extra because LSD diff is not ideal in heavy rain and it can be deadly for ones that can't drive, lots of people that can't drive buy it because its an luxury car with massaged cold & heated seats but they don't think about engine and power this car has. do your own homework before buying a car in the future and you won't be disappointed like that.
    P.S I haven't watched video fully, I don't know if you mention that you had to do your own research etc, I just knew what the issue was when you started talking about it not having LSD diff and showed picture of the car with fed up suspension saying it looked good.

    Are they really that unreliable?? Is it only this way for the high end models or are all the same?
    I realize you wouldn't be pushing a base model as hard which means it'll last longer but I'm not a car guy soo lool

    • @aftmrkt
      @aftmrkt  2 місяці тому +1

      I've learned that reliabilty is subjective lol
      Toyota reliability? definitely not.
      But it's considered 'reliable' in the old german hooptie world. For this car specifically, I never really had a problem with the engine and driveline but it's always something else, and when something breaks it can be expensive

    I feel bad for u. I personally, lesson learned. It‘s not worth to own and maintain a car that old especially Euro cars which so called Capitalist Junk. No matter how you adore the car that already done of warranty period, just dont buy it. Got lots of money then better choose brand new car, start to save more money so every 5 years (when the warranty is done) u can always upgrade to newer one.
