Hey Andrew, great review, and revisiting a year later (Chromebase is my daily driver) I wonder if are aware of some of the problems. Sadly there is pretty much nothing online that acknowledges problems or offers solutions. HP has been pretty good (through warranty period) at working with me (when I keep insisting) but curiously they did stop producing this beautiful machine.
This is Great to have for a family with young kids as well as students. HP is always being innovative and this is no exception. It is a great looking system with great speakers, webcam and internal mic quality. There is really nothing bad I can say about the HP Chromebase and the price is just right. Thank you Andrew for reviewing this as well as making us aware of this product. Awesome!! 👍😁
Hey Andrew. Thanks for this lovely review. Indeed, this looks like a really lovely device. I admire the level to which HP has optimized their QC for so many of their products. I think so far, they are the brand that is closest to perfecting the computer concept, and this is a really innovative concept. They are indeed giving Asus a good run for their money in that space. Wish it had 2k, hdmi and if it had come with i7 or i5 atleast.. but as for the design, personally I think it's one of the best aio computers out there. Love it👍

The portrait and landscape modes are massive QOL features. Something Apple should consider with their macbooks imho. Tbh, Android, ChromeOS, iPadOS etc, I don't want these pseudo-OS. Even Windows annoys me a lot: A recent vid by "Gary Explains" demonstrates the excess resource use of this OS. If only Apple would adopt this for their MacOS...
I bought 2 of these for my kids desks for Christmas. Both units are slightly out of level. Are there adjustments for these? Both screens are crooked!,🤦🏼♂️

Great review! I think the webcam quality looks great and the sound is great too for things like Zoom calls.

I've always kind of had a crush on this device. I hope there's a Gen 2, which might also drive the price down for the first gen on the resale market.

mine won't download most apps, absolutely hate it.
