Ian being able to pick up the diffence in spin on the driver being down to the shape is why he is one of the best fitters out there

Great segment, gents. Love the Callaway Chromesoft X LS. I set my ball speed PR with this ball earlier this year (189mph). Probably best for higher swing players as it may feel a bit firmer to most. I swing between 123-126mph with driver and found myself over spinning the regular Chromesoft. Cheers 👍🙌🙌👍🙏🙏💯💯💪

One thing I have noticed with callaway golf balls which I've never even seen them market themselves IS that the dimple pattern on the ball gets more friction on the green than standard dimple patterns. Those straight lines on the hex pattern get more grip with less spin. Difficult to measure that but I think there's something to it.

I switched to the CSX LS this year after being a Pro V1 guy and just like the Callaway a hair more now. Really does exactly what I want to do as a very fast player that plays a fade/cut 95% of the time. It just helps shave just a little bit of spin so I am not getting caught in the wind.

Just started using the chrome soft x LS and it may be the best ball I’ve used, the cover on it around the greens feels/sounds really good, I find it so spinny with the 50m shots and around the green very controlled, it flys high on my 7 iron/mid irons
And on the driver I feel like it barely spins and feels solid off the face.

I love the Chrome Soft Family of golf balls. I use each on based on a combination of how my swing feels that day and what the weather conditions are. I roughly know my spin numbers and all that, but what I see in a bay versus on course don't really match up. That's why I go for feel of that day.

My stock ball is the bridge stone BXS tiger ball love everything about it , With the exception of back and side spin , sometimes it will overcook a little bit. , I also spin it back I bit much, conditions depending .. 10 to 20 ft with wedges .. it's either knock down or play long to come back ..fun but dangerous .. I have hit the X and the XLS .. longer but a bit firm for me .. never cared to try the stock Chrome soft .. my Pw is 130yd 7i is 170 , I just played Poppy Hills here last Wednesday on the back 9 Chardonnay course shot 33 with a bogie including two lipouts.. and 8 hole stretch shot 5 under through 8 holes .. had a Pw on a 138 downhill par 3, my wedge would normally rip back 15 ft on that hole, it hit 7ft behind the flag an came back to a ft.. very nice..also I will say I hit two drives where I said uh oh that's a little left and it ended up left center .. both side/back spin are lower .. going to play the stock Soft 4-5 more rounds to see where is .. thanks Txg an Johnny W for the vid .. I'm getting basically the same results 🤙

As someone who has been testing out a lot of different balls in the last two months to dial in which is the right ball for me. I can say the two I enjoyed using the most were the chrome soft and the chrome soft x. I loved the soft feel of the chrome soft off irons and wedges. Felt for me it lacked ball speed off the driver so I picked up a dozen of of the chrome soft x before my last round on Sunday and boy oh boy did I love them!!! Loved the ball speed and feel off the tee with driver. Felt I gained a bit more speed off the irons and kept about the same spin from my wedges. I will admit that I’m still getting used to my new sm9s so my wedge shots weren’t as dialed in as I would like but I won’t contribute that to the ball more user error than anything else. Great job on these balls Callaway!1

Not surprised to see these results. I’ve always found in my own testing both on launch monitors and on course that lower compression balls spin less on mid to short irons and wedges and maybe slightly more on the driver and vice versa for higher compression “x” balls. Yes you might give up a little ball speed with a lower compression ball off the driver but there are plenty of options out there that are still pretty quick even at very high swing speeds (120+ mph). Tour B XS and Pro V1 to name a few.

I'm going to tell people my experience with Callaway crome soft.. people just think sense it's not the tour ball then just dismissed it like these guys here they wanna look the part and play the stuff because they want you to think they are such good golfers when reality is they are just like us but with more money to get all the tour shit. There's alot of wanna be pros and think they have to play the tour ball just to be cool and make people think they are on tour lvl witch they are not they wouldn't be making videos like this if they were real tour pros lol but I play pro v1 best ball out there no one can argue that. I'm not kidding when I say this I think Callaway crome soft just replaced it. Don't think the x is better just because it spins more. The spin on crome soft is very high and the compression lvl is a huge factor. If you swing a normal speed and not swing crazy fast the crome soft is the ball for you because your actually compressing the ball. Pro V1 is 87 almost 90 the crome soft is 75. I'm getting better distance with the crome soft and the same spin as pro V1. Now u can say the numbers on pro v1 is little higher witch they are but you can not tell that on the course. If you swing super fast then play pro V1 or crome soft x but if you don't then play crome soft.

I watch these videos but I'll never need another golf ball for the rest of my life once you pick up the Bridgestone Tour Bxs Tigers ball.
No better performing ball around the green by Miles the thing is so soft you can't even feel it design by Tiger with bridgestone's tens of millions and millions into rubber development and nothing comes close in the short game Spin and check Department which you even heard the Callaway Guy saying this video that's where most people make their decisions about balls.
I don't believe him I think most people should make their decisions about their ball around short game but they don't and end up with something like a low spin Callaway, yikes

Moral of the story...if your driver swing speeds are under 105 mph, play the Callaway ChromeSoft. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Nah Freddy. My swing speed is 115mph and I play the Chrome Soft. I am a 10 handicap and happily give up 5 yards for the more penetrating ball flight. The softer ball also, for me, feels more forgiving on the slightly off centre strikes when I'm playing ambrose and trying to bomb them.

....and if your speed is 105 mph & higher, choose whatever ball feels best to you and or your style of play. 👍🏾

Chrome soft LS is still no where near as good as the Pro V1 Left Dash.

Callaway balls will always be junk to me. Even when I find a premium on the course I put it with all the other junk balls in my bag

When I find one on the course I just leave it there.
