I spent my summer vacation in Birstonas many years ago. I still remember the incredible local cakes that I had almost every day. The local cuisine is mostly about pork and potatoes but the desserts and milk products are superb. And the Birute water is also something to remember.
I was 4 years old when my parents moved to the capital. We were living in Birštonas. The town looks exactly how I remember it. Quiet, peaceful. Full of nature.
Neries regioninis parkas is a beautiful natural area, easily accessible by train from Vilnius. There you would find the amazing Paneriškių and Ausiutiškių hills.
The Country has so many viewing towers (Bokstas) now. One i often go to with noone around when i visit family in Lithuania is near Šiaulėnai south of Radviliskis. Šiaulės kalno apžvalgos bokštas I've never seen anyone there 🙂 Also another one near Tytuvenai. It looks smaller but i had more vertigo going up it as the stairs are wide open. Terrific views again
Yeah, that taste and smell isn't so good, because it comes unprocessed in any way. The one that is being sold in Lithuania under the name of Vytautas and Birutė tastes much better, though it's a bit salty. Anyway, it was nice to see in you Birštonas, it's a good place to relax after a long working day, especially on hot summer days 🙂. You should have also visited mineral water vapour tower. It creates the same effect as if you were by the sea, but it works in the warm season only 😕.
Love your videos, thanks for taking us with you. I watched this right after watching the trailer for 'She-Hulk: Attorney at Law' and you look so much like the lead actor! At least in that role.
Hi very nice walk along the river. Beautiful for paddle boating or canoeing in the warmer weather. They should have a warning before people try the water! That was funny. Thankyou for filming
Yup. Mineral water straight from the source takes some getting used to, but folks in many European countries swear by it, e.g. my father-in-law keeps cases of it at his home for near-daily consumption.
"Vytautas" tastes like literal butt directly from the water fountain, but it's great once carbonated and bottled. Nothing can salvage "Birutė" though, it's just terrible 😅
Hi Laura, I’m planning to pursue my masters in Lithuania. I speak English and I’m excited for this coming opportunity. My worry is the communication barrier. I would like to have work experience also in Lithuania. How are you able to work ? Is there like special jobs for English speakers? Is English really widely spoken in the corporate space ? Thanks in advance ☺️
There're international companies in Vilnius and Kaunas (more of them in the capital city of course), where work international teams, so you should not have problems when it comes to the language. However, you may encounter some issues related to the language barrier when visiting someone or something in the outskirts or smaller cities, also the older generation knows Russian better than English. But that doesn't mean you would not be able to speak somewhere further away from bigger cities 🙂.

sure a nice vacationing town, but quite a bit empty rn as you got there totally out-of-season, but hay, you could almost have it all to yourself :)

Thanks so much, I'm so glad you enjoy the video! I just had a google of the actor, I'll take that comparison! haha

Wow! Yea it certainly would take some getting used to, Luke loved it though!

🤣 Good to know, I'll steer clear of Birutė!! haha
Turbūt bijojote aukščio tame bokšte..?🙂
Pure mineral water. Bottled mineral water is diluted and carbonated :)
Thank you for video. Birstonas is pronounced diferrently - emphasis on the first part of the word. Cheers.
