Last time as was in Marijampolė 20 years ago (before Lithuania's accession to the EU). Back then it was a little, dirty, old-looking, grey town. I can't recognize it in this video. I think it looks so clean, colourful and beautiful nowadays. A huge progress and big changes.
Hello greetings from Marijampolė I really hope you liked our city all tho it's really quiet on the weekends we usually take a break from a long week of work or hang out with our friends at private places the best day to be here is on Fridays :D On may 27 we will have our city days so cold "Sugar festival" if you are still around in Lithuania I would love to treat you to a meal and some drinks
Heyo, finally. I do wonder when you filmed it? Since now sakuras and all the wildlife is blooming, not to mention the fountains and city events have started up. Marijampolės dienos(Marijampolė days) are gonna be happening soon, theres a Sugar festival happening here quite soon too , I suggest you visit it. Also if your going from Kaunas, you can take the train to see a bit of wildlife and try a different transport route ;D. Marijampolė has one of the oldest and unique train stations in Lithuania. Overall glad you enjoyed my hometown, and wish for you to visit it again when you can :). You missed quite a few nice places. For example Pašešupio parkas, which is mainly an activity park, not a "gazing" and "thinking" part like poetry park. There are beaches, tennis courts, etc, but overall it's a nice park to clear your head and interact with people. Theres also Marių parkas, a beach on an island by the Marijampolė dam. It's a very nice location during the summer time and is planned for renovations. It's got a beachside Restaurant and a wave park- but thats more for summer activitys :D. Well either way, hope your enjoying your time here in Lithuania. Marijampolė will be waiting for you every day of the week !
What's something new even for me. And I had been in this city many times xD I guess you are benefiting from not having a car. You must walk throughout everything. Great content, as always!
Greetings from Marijampole. I think all paintings started after first one on old hydropower plant, close to that park you been. Where image looks like a mess, until you watch on water reflection, then you see real image. But yeah, seems like we have plenty of art here. most i didn't even know myself
Summer is coming up, there'e nothing like renting a cabin by a lake with friends or as a couple. Also you should try staying in one of tree houses. My personal favourite is Moletai tree house in a forrest by a lake.
Yes Laura, amazing and colourful video. Your videos never cease to amaze. Thankyou for sharing. Back in Canada so more time to enjoy your time. See you soon. Keep smiling as we all smile with you.🌷
Thank you for showing us Marijampole. Liepaja in Latvia has a lot of street art like that too and it is not too far from Kaunas by bus. If you do venture into Latvia I recommend a visit to Robert's Book's, an English language bookstore in Riga. I noticed in previous videos that you like to read and they have a decent second-hand section.
I started to watch this episode on our TV in our living room Laura and my husband instantly recognised the town’s name Marijampole. His father’s cousin lived there until she passed away a few years ago. She had been a school teacher in Marjampole during her working life. She used to send my husband and his family beautiful handwritten birthday cards and gifts from Lithuania. I was sad that we were unable to meet her before she passed. However Marjampole is definitely on our wish list when we visit in the not too distant future 🤞🏻 thank you for showing us around town.
@@laura-bronnerYou have not seen the best part of Marijampole. You should go to Marijampole in winter and visit ereao called Mokolai... You can see a hill
Guys, you have to visit Telšiai. There is a lot of art in the streets, mainly sculptures and millions of stories behind of them. Especially interesting Cathedral with 2 floors and basement, bat particularly - bronze doors.
Another charming location in Lithuania! It's always a pleasure to travel (virtually) along with you. I really look forward to hearing you read and speak Lithuanian again, like you did a month ago.
Hi Laura! So exciting to see you were so close to my home country of Poland! Just wondering if you’ll ever cross the border and visit there? It is a very beautiful country and has amazing food I’m sure you’ll love!
I would love to visit, I was hoping to wait until it got a bit warmer and now my schedule is a bit busy with work trips, but it is high on my priority list!!
you speak Lithuanian with a nice Spanish accent :) you do put correct emphases, but when it's at the word's end, you're prolonging it bit too much: Mariajampolė for you comes out like Mariajmpolėėėė as in esp "querer". Lots of our small cities are beautiful and cozy, but they're plagued by the lack of people, and this gets worse and worse with every year
This is how street art should look like . Not like that crap they call graffiti 💩 that sadly is still so common on the streets of Lithuania. And your videos got better in a sense that you don’t look at the camera every time you talk 👍
lithuania is a very beautiful place

The bird mural was great and whoever carved the cats really knew their body posture. Bob Marley as a Saint!!!

That sounds cool. I haven’t seen the tree houses, I’ll have to check them out, thanks for the tip!!

Can I just hop on this thread too? Tervete park in Latvia with its numerous wooden gnome villages is worth a visit too. Plan a whole day :)
That sounds like a cool spot, thanks for letting me know!

I do love street art and murals in modern cities. This trend is good. I believe here in Europe it's all the rage, but how it is in USA, Canada?

Sveiki atvykę!
is lithuania is good/safe country for work and stay....???
"good" is a bit relative, but safe - yes, for sure.
Safer than the US by far, and "good" is relative.
Does anyone actually live here? Not a single person spotted during the whole video.
Our City:)))
I’m from Lithuania and I’m from marijampolė
Is this Manhattan NYC?

I live here
I've just stared managing marijamploe on football manager lol
May 21 is street music day, hint hint ;)
O kur dingo žmonės?

Go back to Mexico...and I mean that in a really nice way. I used to love watching your videos of Mexican travel.
Do whatever you want Laura, don't listen to this guy! 🙈❤️
How about you move to Mexico yourself? Then you won't have to whine about it.
