Johnny Sibert and James Farmer (Marty Robbins) were my early influences on the steel guitar. I was at International Steel Guitar in St. Louis when Johnny Seibert was inducted in the National Steel Guitar Hall of Fame. What a thrill for me to see him inducted.
If thats a Gibson Super 400 how rare are they now,I know they came out in early 1930s Gibson named it the 400 cause I believe 1932 it cost $400.00 at the start of the great depression. What craftsmanship.
Truly one of the best 50s 45s ...western/hillbilly. And a little r' billy thrown ...like this updated version...
Now that's county music 🎶
What a great steel guitar performer! As to Carl Smith, simply superb.

Frankie Laine's version reached Number 1 in the UK Singles Chart in October 1953.

Wee fking fanny in the gold jacket laughing and giggling and ridiculouling anyone.
Wow, I always liked this guy as a little girl. didn't know he was so good looking. My Daddy played the steel.
Hard to believe June Carter divorced this guy for Johnny Cash.
@@ringonordstrom692 that’s not how the story went. But I get what you’re saying.
I thought this was going to be "Hey Joe"! It was but it wasn't!
Back then country music did not even think about flirting with acid rock . Giggles 😎
hey CARL
Czech version: "Hej, Joe" (Greenhorns)
Carlene is really looking like her handsome father! /eSj
Carl sounds so much like Johnny Cash, including his speaking voice.
Like the old push/pull Emmons, they used small Emmons labels back then.
great performance. what is that guitar he's playing? beautiful!
steel guitar
Thanks, Helen. I was asking about Carl's beautiful Gibson with the double pick guards. Anyone know what model it is?
Could it be an acoustic L-5 or Super 400?
Ken, Toronto
Thanks, Ken. Just compared photos on google, and the tail-piece definitely looks like the Super 400. Beautiful guitar.
