Album :I've Got a Tiger by the Tail
    Utgitt : 1965
Låtskrivere: Harlan Howard / Buck Owens
    Label: capitol
"I've Got a Tiger By the Tail" is a song made famous by country music band Buck Owens and the Buckaroos. Released in December 1964, the song was one of Owens' signature songs and showcases of the Bakersfield sound in the genre.
In 1965, Dave Berry used "I've Got a Tiger By the Tail" as the B-side of his single "Little Things" and the single reached number 5 in the UK Singles Chart.
I've Got a Tiger by the Tail is an album by Buck Owens and his Buckaroos, released in 1965. It reached Number one on the Billboard Country charts and Number 43 on the Pop Albums charts.
It was re-released on CD in 1995 by Sundazed Records with two bonus tracks, both live performances recorded in Bakersfield, CA at the Civic Auditorium in October 1963. The album was included in Robert Dimery's 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die
Alvis Edgar Owens Jr. (August 12, 1929 - March 25, 2006), professionally known as Buck Owens, was an American musician, singer, songwriter and band leader who had 21 No. 1 hits on the Billboard country music charts with his band the Buckaroos. They pioneered what came to be called the Bakersfield sound, named after Bakersfield, California, the city Owens called home and from which he drew inspiration for what he preferred to call American music.
While Owens originally used fiddle and retained pedal steel guitar into the 1970s, his sound on records and onstage was always more stripped-down and elemental. His signature style was based on simple storylines, infectious choruses, a twangy electric guitar, an insistent rhythm supplied by a drum track placed forward in the mix, and high two-part harmonies featuring him and his guitarist Don Rich

    Lyrics:
I've got a tiger by the tail, it's plain to see
I won't be much when you get through with me
Well, I'm a losing weight and a turnin' mighty pale
Looks like I've got a tiger by the tail
Well, I thought the day I met you, you were meek as a lamb
Just the kind to fit my dreams and plans
But now the pace we're livin' takes the wind from my sails
And it looks like I've got a tiger by the tail
I've got a tiger by the tail, it's plain to see
I won't be much when you get through with me
Well, I'm a losing weight and a turnin' mighty pale
Looks like I've got a tiger by the tail
Well, every night you drag me where the bright lights are found
There ain't no way to slow you down
I'm as 'bout as helpless as a leaf in a gale
And it looks like I've got a tiger by the tail
I've got a tiger by the tail, it's plain to see
I won't be much when you get through with me
Well, I'm a losing weight and a turnin' mighty pale
Looks like I've got a tiger by the tall

@@plastercaster8036 No one who loves this solo is "deaf." He starts out of the key of the song and then transitions into key - it's brilliant and it's 100% deliberate. It's a sign of high level musicality that a guitar player would even try this, let alone execute it to perfection. And it sounds amazing.
