Isn't it cool to see these moves close up?! WOWOW
I didn't get to play on JDI as much as I maybe would've liked, but only because this spring season I was really hyped about climbing a variety of routes at the park rather than focusing in on one singular project! I ended up having my best climbing season to date (highlights include sending a 5.14a in 6 goes, and another (scary) 14a in just a weeks time!)
I was incredibly grateful that Zech was free to film me on one of my last days at Smith, not only so I could have my beta recorded to look over this summer, but also to remember this beautiful moment in the projecting process. That special time when expectations haven't destroyed the joy of baby steps. Maybe the more I remember this, the higher percentage of my projecting process can be this exciting and joyful! It's a journey I'm happy to be on, and to share with y'all as well!

It's crazy how small beta changes can make such a massive difference! Can't wait to see you send this, you're gonna crush it!
🙏🏽 I’m so excited to go back!!
I relate so much to the nervous/happy vibe you have in this. It's one of those videos you probably watch again later and go ''why was I saying so much BS and making goofy sounds'' hahahaha. The wall does weird things to us, I absolutely love it. That special state where you're not feeling the fear in a ''scared'' way but in a ''nervous'' way, and you laugh maniacally through the learning process. It's so hard to describe to people who haven't felt it, but I usually just send them your videos.
😂🙏🏽 perfectly described hahaa. Yeah I love the spring phase of finding a project. Everything is new and exciting and I get pretty happy and manic on the wall
I remember asking for this, but I definitely didn't expect it. It's nice to see a video of someone working on this who isn't Ondra or Sharma.
First and foremost : This is an AMAZING view of Smith! Second : Projecting 5.14c is words unspoken! To see you play and enjoy yourself on this climb makes me so happy!! I can't wait to see you link all of this together! Keep pushing Anna :)
Awww thanks Jaleal 🥰🥰🥰
"I mean, f*ck" - perfect summary for a great effort. So beautiful to watch, super technique and power. Thank you for the inspiration.
Very interesting to see some more of the inbetween moments on wall. They were really nice as little fun transitions between your attempts!!
It was so fun seeing you try a different style of climbing and you totally crushed it! Great Job! 👏👏👏
Thank you!! It’s a bit out of my comfort zone (not being vert or slab!) but I’m excited for the challenge
You're goes are super impressive! The camera doesn't appreciate how steep that wall is and then those holds look tiny. I've walked by that climb so many times and it's cool to finally see the holds up close. STRONG WORK ANNA! Next go for sure. And damn, Ondra's onsite is just super impressive of that thing too. JEEEBUS.
Aww thank you!! Omg right!? His onsite is WILD after being up there. So so impressive. Yeah I feel like it’s hard to understand how overhung the wall is until you’re climbing it 😂
I enjoyed the up close and personal videography. Seeing the crux holds up close and listening to you talk about how to use and then working it was nice.
Love the way you composited the videos of Adam and Drew behind you!
Wow, this is an amazing climbing video, Anna! I have been watching your videos for a little while and damn you've become a much stronger climber. Get it!
Also that Goodr ad sequence had me laughing out loud
What an inspiration. So fun to see you so psyched on the climb too!
It's really nice to see you projecting! I'm a 6b climber and I just started projecting some routes, I really like the process of finding the smallest changes in the beta that make the moves easier.
Putting the fun in functional!! Enjoying you enjoying this process
Awesome route, great climbing. Best of luck with sending it as well as with all other adventures!
So awesome. Have never seen this route up close like this before and it looks like so much fun!
Amazing to see you fighting on your limit in one of the US classics! 😍 Got really motivated after watching this! Keep it up, you will crush it!
It's so lovely to see you being happy and confident about your climbing! I enjoyed this video 😄
Fun video! Great to see how small changes can make a big difference.
I'm also impressed at the ear bud managing not falling out
Love to see the suffering, the process and the psych. ❤ You rock hard!
Such an amazing work Anna, we admire you a lot, texting from the south of Spain!! 👏🏼
That's some awesome climbing Anna! Keep going
This is so motivating, keep crushin !
hellyeaaaa annaaa 14c?!?geeesh..
loved seeing this being worked out
“silly, goofy, happy” me when Anna Hazelnut 🥰🥰 ily!!
Gorgeous scenery! I'd be so distracted. Healing from a wrist injury on Sat. at the gym and a new vid from you is just perfect. Awesome hearing how you project a hard send! Crush on....👍
Nice climbing. You are getting. More confident with your lead falls. I’m slowly getting my confidence back.
calling a mic dab at 10:00
you kidz these days! love y'all! not the sport I did in the seventies/eighties yet I still recognize your call to spiritual adventure even while pulling out a cell phone and measuring gradient metrics on belay... c'MON Anna, you soooo got JDI!
It’ll go!! So sick 💪
What a great video hanna !!!
this is so exciting!!!
You're such a boss! The content is fire.
Amazing video Anna 💯 12:02 i got hit with anxiety with the casually pulling the phone out that high up 😅😂.
Dream climb! Great video
Punter tip: If you want to know the overhang angle of a section, instead of measuring individual rock angles, position the phone on the rope between QDs, and that gives you the angle of that section (roughly).
such a fun video!!!
Narrating your progress while climbing 8c+ is wildly bad-ass... but my biggest take-away is witnessing you smile throughout the projecting. So rad!
omg, loved the edit
Another quality video. Climbing hard routes but the content is fun and relatable 💪
So freaking impressive
Spantastic !
You did amazing 🥹
New upload on a rest day... Uh mAZING
You got this 🎉
Sweaty hands watching in my living room folding laundry 😂😅. You do hard things! ❤
amazing vid
youtube commercials = boo
anna's commercials = gimme more!
(and more of annas climbin, more of annas armpits, more of anna)
love the unhinged intermission
Good stuff 😊
Love the more “real time” video! Where you’re still projecting without knowing the outcome
" i mean, fuck" is such a mood sometimes
Could you tell me how can you endure full crimping a lot of holds in a row? I usually full crimp for that long and my forearms just get tired really quick.
working that thing with airpods in is maybe the scariest thing ive seen all week
💀
vinga boua!!
You're a Powerhorse miss Hazelnut😮
Im so scared of wind too! On a lot easier climbs, though. Just gets in my head!
Are you on the phone with your belayer via the airpods so you can communicate better!? BRILLIANT. 🤣
Staying on her face as god intended. Ha! Another great vid. Super interesting.
So cool to see the process ! What are you filming this with ? Is it an Osmo or something like that or a full on camera ?
Yes! Picket osmo 3, it’s so good for travel
0:50 "Spank the Monkey" LOL
Butterfly guard? Training BJJ as well? ✊🏽✊🏽
noticed the earphones.
Do you prefer to listen to music while climbing?
I’m currently going through a music phase with my climbing! It helps me zen/try hard
Very random question, but what do you use the earbuds for?
Adam Ondra is whispering beta to me from the ground
I totally sent a 5.14c once, but it lives in Canada so you probably wouldn’t know of it.
You’re climbing like an animal Anna. You really look close on this one, I think closer than you think. So I’ve a serious question, get this under your belt, pick one that suits you, how long before you’re projecting your first 9A? How big of a jump is that?
🙈 thank you! I have a 9A in mind… just one grade away right? Tryna make my way 🫡
hi Anna
i ve been watching your videos for a few months now and i like slabs also because of you. You are very good at it :)
I was watching this video, but i couldn't help it, but to stop. It was cuz of the swearing. Don't get me wrong...i swear my self, but you have a big following and you are a role model and inspiration to us grown ups, but, i m sure, to young girls and boys also. I don't mean (at all) to patronize you :) Only to ask if you could turn it down a touch :)
thank you
ciao :)
I totally understand, but as a person who is also an adult in this world, I do swear quite a bit, especially when trying this hard and out of my comfort zone. Luckily, not everyone has to watch my videos, and my videos aren't for everyone. I made a promise to myself that I wouldn't put on a fake personality for UA-cam, and even if it means being a "bad role model," at least it's my true self haha. Feel free to skip any videos where I swear too much 🙏🏽
Fair :) but I don't think it's about being fake.
I ll happily keep on watching your videos as I do find them good and will skip if I don't feel them :)
Have a nice day and best of things for your new projects
Ciao
:)
Could you explain what are the prerequisites to be a professional climber ?
There are none?
Profession means job so her being a professional climber means it’s her job to climb, she makes a living from climbing. Whether that means she makes money through sponsorships from climbing companies or content creation on social media.
@@brandon.d well explained ! That’s great
Talent, willingness to treat it seriously like a full time job? Probably doesn't hurt with the sponsors that she is pretty and makes ridiculously funny commercials.
Turns out, its as hard as 8c+ 😅
😂😮💨💀
