Castillo "landed" more, but they weren't effective. Judges favored what was effective in that fight. Unlike the recent fight Ortiz vs Bohachuk. Ortiz won by a small decision because he landed more punches and that's what the judges favored, despite his punches having less effect. So depending on the judges you can score it either way, but usually the more critical will say Mayweather won.
