There is something uniquely powerful about the sound of a vintage rotary speaker system. The organic chorusing as the treble horn and bass rotor start speeding up. The grit of the internal tube-driven amplifier, creating additional harmonics that spin around the room. Plug into Lex, close your eyes, and be transported by this classic sound, recreated with astonishing realism and depth for your pedalboard.
Another great video with all of the deep set features, thanks Mike! Also, loving the Alexander Pedals flanger Tee - rules...
nice to see/hear the update. Mike, I wonder how you think the Strymon's sound compares with the Neo minVent2. The miniV really nailed the slower sounds when I tried one.
I really like the Lex but I agree with you - the Mini Vent’s slow speed is incredible. I have switched back and forth between the 2 many times. I like the new blend knob on this one (micro Vent has a blend as well
@@popintothechemist Would you say the slow speed of the Lex V2 compares to the Vents or would you say the Vents are still better? Still sounds like the Vents still have the edge to me
Nice demo overall. For what I was hoping to get info on is hearing slow run for more than 5 seconds at a time and with drive up playing rock rythyms, held chords. That grindin' rock sound I need to create. I can't tell in detail what the drive sounds like here.
Who else just listens to mikes demos one after the other?🧐
"Casa del Lex, Lutherville, Marina del Lex, Otisburg... Otisburg???" funny line in Superman
Ha! Good ol’ Gene Hackman
Unfortunately, the drums were wider in the mix than the Lex V2. Wide stereo is what sells for me. For stereo, I'll take a Neo or EHX Lester G.
Thanks for the feedback. The entire demo was recorded in mono…
@@popintothechemist Regardless of my observations, we are all thankful for the content in the demos. You make them fun and interesting to listen to.
Give Rotary some lovin'! I've narrowed it down to this one or the Mini Vent ii.....I think for the price, the Lex can't be beat.
I'm looking now but the Mini Vent sounded to "digital" wheras both the Lex and Dawner Prince PULSE seem to get me where I want to be.
Awesome as ever! I’ve heard a few people suggest the new version is much better than the old. Have you found any key differences in the sound?
I owned v1, own v2. Big improvement. Much more flexible with the mix knob.
I agree with a lot of people- the blend knob adds a lot of versatility. Sounds killer!
@@popintothechemist I was just trying to decide between the micro vent and the lex when this one came out. Talk about first world problems! Think having the drive on the Lex might seal the deal.
@@benspinks342 Agree! I like to use a very slow speed with the gain cranked for solos. Then speed it up if you like.
Can we hear this device with Organ sounds please
Hi, Neo Instruments Ventilator II or Lex v2?Which is more authentic?
Does anybody know if this would be good for Pink Floyd stuff
It certainly sounds like it would be great for PF stuff, Any Colour, Brain Damage, Dogs (live), hell you could recreate the Echoes piano on it (using harmonics and such)
If you want to get VERY exact, there is a pedal called the Dawner Prince PULSE which simulates the rotary speakers David used during the Division Bell tour. It works well as an overall rotary pedal as well, but it is specifically made to replicate PULSE era rotary.
Your arrangements are absolutely stellar! I look forward to those more so than the pedal. Excellent playing. Keep up the great work.
Thanks so much for watching! I appreciate it
Had a lex years ago and sold it. Good but not good enough for me. THIS one sounds better and the added features make it very desirable. Great demo of course by MH.
What Beatle song is that?
The opening track was Gimme Some Loving by The Spencer Davis Group but he did play snippets of I Want You (She’s So Heavy) in the demo part.
Sounds awesome! I didn’t realize I could use my midi mouse to switch presets with a Lex???
Sounds killer.
Great pedal!
Za tak duże pieniądze słabe efekty. Lepiej kupić 2 kostki Flamma: Ekoverb i modulation.
Nice! 😀
