I love how insane and chaotic the hunters are. They respected Leorio for punching Ging so much that he made it to the top 2 finalists. Like, thinking about it in our own contexts, a panel of presidential candidates, a bunch of representative go up to ask questions and one of them punches the presidential candidate who is technically still a senator. Then they get mad at the senator for being a shit dad. This is a group of 1000+ thief and murderers (ik not everyone is like this, I'm just thinking criminals who are now allowed to be criminals), this group of criminals is just like, oh yeah that guy needs to raise his kid let's fight him.

I love gings character. He is a bad dad and he knows it. He decided that taking Gon with him and raising him to be a copy of himself would make him an even worse father. He mentions that Gon has a number of good friends like Leiro hinting that he knows one of them could heal him. I think he knew about Netero’s trip to the DC so he also knew about Nanika. Lastly if he went to see Gon he would defeat the whole purpose of Gon since he is a Hunter Hunter.
Unfortunately, Gon has ended up still somewhat like him. Because they ripped out his innocence without any proper maturity and growth, Gon was pressured to test his morality during that Chimera ant arc, and due to it has he really enhanced his selfishness and lack of empathy and rationality.
Not saying the anime made his character bad by the way, just saying that they nailed his character and the similarities to him and his father, since what Gon has been through is most likely what Ging has gone through as a hunter, and caused him to be selfish.

Finding Ging is main life goal for Gon. Ging knew to trusted Gon's friends. So, that's why he didn't went to Gon. And plus, Leorio was wrong, Ging was right. Gon never say he wanted Ging to visit him. Never ever.

Secondly Goku clearly stated he has a problem when innocent people get in danger due to some of the fights he’s in and he also cares about his loved ones unlike ging so it’s dumb to compare the two.
@@devinbutler Firstly, a dumb overconfidence is not a good excuse for putting tons of lives in danger which would've happened if Gohan didn't have his Plot Armor there. Secondly, him saying that he has problems when innocent lives are at risk doesn't automatically excuse the dumb shit he has done throughout the entire series which includes a lot of endangerment of innocent lives. Also, i I'm not trying to compare Goku to Ging, I'm simply pointing out that Goku isn't that much of great guy as he is portrayed as.

I really understand the reasons for which everyone hates Ging. But I actually like his character. Even while fighting all those people he took the time to explain to Gon about Kite's acts. I think Gon’s mother had a kind spirit, as reflected in Gon & I believe her death is why Ging is how he is now. He probably see’s her in Gon which makes it even harder for him to act right. There’s probably a deep story for character development there.
