I’m super new to Minecraft UA-cam and like- I’ve known of you in passing as just “the redstone guy” for years, but when actually watching your videos it’s genuinely really amazing seeing everything you do. You explain your projects in a way that’s understandable even with a low level of familiarity with redstone, and it’s so amazing watching you make both practical machines like the potion brewer and more elaborate, fun things like Ravager Rush. But then you don’t stop there! You’re not just a redstone guy, you’re also so good with building too?! The forced lighting that you implemented into your base during this episode is so incredibly pretty, and I’m super excited to try using it as inspiration with my own projects. And your interiors! They’re absolutely *gorgeous*! I know a bunch of people (myself included) struggle with them, so seeing you make your interiors be both pretty and genuinely functional is just so absolutely amazing. It’s really easy to see how you’ve managed to stick around on UA-cam for so long, between your Minecraft skills and your humor. I’m excited to start watching your other series, and can’t wait to see where you go from here! ^-^
Etho's interiors are always amazing! In hermitcraft season 7 he built a base that was entirely interiors. From the outside it looked insane, but from within it was gorgeous. There are elements of that base that still inspire my minecraft worlds to this day
I did watch Bdubs stream, but it is a REALLY funny thought from this perspective of Bdubs just murmuring to himself unknowingly on a hot mic about getting the holiday chub.
all that pressure from bdubs is starting to get to him lol... but really, it does look great. One of my favorite things about watching Etho for so long is seeing how much he has improved as a builder over the years. He doesn't get as much props as some of the other hermits, but he's kind of a sleeper hitter when it comes to colors. I can't wait to see him develop his lighting technique even more.
Three maces in the very last trial chamber, flipping seven heads in a row, landing a hit on the ever-evasive, great and powerful Bdubs during his own intro, the luck is crazy in this episode lol
7:40 In litematica, if you press ''i'' while looking at a container thats already placed, itll show whats supposed to be in there and what you have in there if anything.
It’s actually crazy how Etho can just upload a 44 minute video and I just stop what I’m doing to watch the whole thing and still be deeply entertained. Fantastic content!
That happened to Tango when Pearl maced him. It was in the hungry hermits cave so they didn't spray every where but they fell into a hole and there was moment where they thought Tango's items disintegrated along with Tango.
13:49 the fact you shade and colour your 3d builds the way you would a drawing with that forced lighting trick is amazing! I really love the tiny details, you really do make amazing interiors Etho
@14:20 It really does add a lighting effect using the different shades of colors on the blocks. Leave it to Etho to figure out how to wow us, as per usual!
etho!! the lighting/shading ln the build is really neat! I really enjoy that you’re always trying out new things when building, it’s genuinely inspiring and I find myself getting the urge to open up a world and try it out too! It’s important to do things you know you enjoy, but it’s also important that we reach outside of our comfort zone to try new things. Learning and growing are uncomfortable, but its important to be uncomfortable sometimes :) I’m excited to go experiment- thanks for showing us around ☺️
I got so excited the other day when Etho told Scar that he was doing his intro, because I know enough about the way he records to know a new episode was coming soon :D
I really enjoying how the base interior turned out! I like how the bright to dull yellow blocks on the mailbox makes it look like there's a ray of light on the surface. Also, I think using warmer toned blocks for shadows makes the base feel cozy, but also a bit mysterious. I'm also a fan of adding gizmos to my bases. It really starts to feel like home once you've added in some little bits to make moving around the base and completing projects easier.
When you first checked the Ravager Rush stuff and said it was October I literally had to pause the video and say aloud “Etho it is December!” And I’m glad you didn’t leave it at October’s results
11:50 oh but I love von sway! It always amazes me how you can make block palettes and odd (for lack of a better word) design styles not only work but be aesthetically pleasing as well. Your building style has truly been a great source of inspiration for me, Mr. Slab.
i love what you're doing with your interior! the forced lighting brings so much atmosphere to your interior and actually makes it feel like you're inside, all homely and cozy. i also really like that you're dressing up the moss pit a bit, because i really like it when parts of a minecraft world that actually get used a lot also look the most transformed from just standard minecraft generation. it makes it feel like you can actually see the life that the player led in the world, as if we get to trace your play-style by seeing where the path is most worn. (except instead of worn it's the most developed) thank you as always for this great video! i won't get into personal stuff, but watching this video i felt myself breathing deeply and properly again for the first time in a few days. so really thank you for what you do.
Luv when Etho takes us along on his shopping trips! Big fan of the compact potion brewing system as well! Liked the stairs in the moss factory breaking up all of the right angles. Not every farm Etho builds requires a video. He deserves a pass whenever he wants. LOL.❤
I love that potion brewer, it's been in my long term survival world for literal years. Following your guide helped me learn a lot of redstone concepts at that time, but most importantly, it taught me that I'm horrendously impatient when following video guides and I'd rather just fiddle it out myself.
the forced lighting you did with your house's interior looks awesome ! it actually looks like theres a spot light pointing at your mail system. this whole episode is such a treat, theres so much building and redstone stuff going on that i felt like the 44 minutes passed by so quickly. happy holidays to mr slab and the whole community !
A great start to your soft foods era. 😅 My favorite is a banana bread muffin, broken up into a bowl, soaked in milk and microwaved 15-20 seconds until warm. A bit like oatmeal but even mushier.
Caught the start of this video live on Bdub's stream. So glad I can finally see your POV. The editing makes it 1000% better!! Great work as always Etho!
Hi Etho, I'm done with Winter. I've been told Winter starts on the 21st of December I refuse to believe it I wish to hibernate until summer comes back. Thank you for the episode you've made loads of progress and I can't wait to see what other shenanigans you get up to. Hope you're well and stay warm
Started watching your vids a year ago now, they always bring a cozy vibe upon tough times Such a pleasure to watch both the comprehensive redstone overviews and stunning builds Really admire your sense for colour palettes and the way you implemented shading and lighting in an interior, never seen that done before Take care
I have an Etho-inspired upgrade idea for Hungry Hermits: *Shady Stew* Order stew from a suspicious supplier to solve your hunger problem A new option called "🔒 Shady Stew 🔒" is added to the Ordering Terminal, but the order only goes through if the upgrade is active. A player can order Shady Stew to receive a Suspicious Stew, which could give the player a good effect (regen/saturation), a neutral effect (weakness/jump boost), or a bad effect (blindness/poison/weakness/wither if someone has a Wither Rose farm). This gives the player a way to order food that restores 6 hunger points (1 more than Baked Potato) whenever they're hungry, with funny side effects as a downside.
@44:20 Count your blessings, Etho- Just be glad your summers aren't 110F (43C) with 95% humidity like we have in Louisiana! I would totally take negative temps over scorching heat, any day!
@@vulcanfeline IIRC Etho is somewhere in BC, which has excessively humid and occasionally quite snowy winters (though not _that_ cold by the coast, somewhat cold in the interior) but not that humid summers. Down by Vancouver its actually classed as a Mediterranean climate because the summers are so dry. The summer temps don't get that bad either. Further inland is definitely a different story though.
I love that forced lighting for the mailbox! I was thinking it looked just like a soft spotlight was shining on the area before you even mentioned that's what you were going for.
I really like the warm colour palette of the interior. And the build being influenced by light brings nice details. I had a cold weather recently too, so the idea of sitting down with hot coffee in this interior sounds so cozy and warm.
The forced lighting looks awesome, the mace kill was hysterical, I love the visual updates to your farms, but I am most excited about the updated brewer design! I was literally thinking the other day that I need to go back and watch that old tutorial to build a new brewer, but then you upload a new and improved version. Just perfectly timed! LOL
I'm sure no one would mind if you posted more TCG content. I can fully understand not wanting to have a major focus on the TCG again this season but if you just recorded your games and put up the raw footage, no editing or post commentary, I'm sure people would be fine with that and love it. Maybe you could run a poll or something on the community section of your channel and see what people would think of just raw tcg footage, no intro or talking to the audience. Just keeping it simple for making your life easier but obviously if you don't want to distract from some of the other great things happening this season like Tangos Hungry Hermits or whatever I fully understand that aspect too. Either way, just thinking in text since it never hurts to put the ideas out there. Not every idea needs to be used. Anyways, love the content and have a great holiday season to Etho and to everyone else in the comments section who sees this!
The "forced lighting" in the base looks really cool! its impressive how realistic it looks, given how simple the concept is. The moss farm is already looking good too, it feels like a genuine production facility with all the grate walkways and falling items. Also I hope you show some of your hungry hermits runs, I've seen some of them through VODs/ other hermits videos and its very entertaining to watch 😊

Ah, the Von Sway :) I looove the warmth of that interior! The forced lighting is kinda genius. It's also snowing here, but hopefully it melts by tomorrow. Wet shoes and socks are the worst!
Oh my god I adore the idea of sniffers as “moss managers!” Also! You know what might be a good use for that Free Build coupon? The stone and andesite shop!
09:09 If the rocket launcher used a dispenser to launch them, and since you said "flipping a coin" I assume there are roughly the same amount of green/red rocket slots (can't be, so assume there are 5 slots of green rockets and 4 of red rockets). The probability of getting a red one is geometric, which means if anything I said above was true, what happened to you has the probability of p=(5/9)^7*(4/9)=0.007, which is a dang small number.
@filipsichrovsky I wanted to take the case which is more probable to show that even then this has a small probability, I am well aware of this doesn’t cancel out my point.
LOL I love that both you and Bdubs had that kill near the start of the episode, and for you it was specifically for the intro!! And the fact that you succeeded with his hammer and nail line!! XD Your TCG arena is so beautiful!!! Your interior details, too, I love the light gradient and golden mailbox!
The mace attack on Bdubs was unbelievable! I couldn’t believe how much damage it did. I love all of the stuff you’ve done with your base interior. It’s looking great. Thanks for another awesome episode.
Etho, as always, making a great video. I see your building techniques have really evolved, love the shading techniques u were showing. been watching since very very early days of your lets play series, thank you for many smiles. have a great day Etho if u see this :)
Hiya Etho, had a idea pop up in my head when you mentioned elevator. Simple design of a water stream but at every level you miss a source block so the bubbles stop at that floor. Then hook up a lectern and dispenser to put water down on the missing block all the way up to the floor you select on the lectern. Then the bubbles would flow all the way up to that floor. I dont know how to do the reverse but you are a smarter person than me.
love the lighting in the interior! I hadn't even noticed the gradient until it was pointed out, it blends so well I thought it was regular Minecraft lighting
ETHO! Please if you ever have doubts about your building abilities you have to stop and rethink it because wow everything you built this episode was truly inspiring. That moss farm build makes me want to go and build in that style on my server.
Not even finished the episode and i had to stop to comment, that interior is INCREDIBLE, it's bdubs' mastery of forced lighting taken to an interior, the colour work is incredible, it's like nothing Ive ever seen before in minecraft building. It's not too much to look at at all, the visual hierarchy is incredible, i never would have thought you could achieve something so atmospheric without shaders. The stained glass bits above the entryway is especially great, reminds me a bit of Frank Lloyd Wright even? So so so good. All this not just to praise it like a crazy person but to put my two cents in that you're not off base with the viewers' taste, you are on track and this is incredible. Please never stop doing whatever zany things. The customers don't know what they want until you show em ;)
Merry Christmas Etho. Been watching for a long time. So grateful to have so many laughs for so many years. Thank you. This year has been a real knee slapper!
I think the interior looks really nice. Also, good work on building that redstone on camera. Always cool when you're able to explain the technical stuff and show the build and thought process.
For me who lives in the north part of Australia, we are heading into a hot and rainy Christmas. Not the place for you to come this time of year. You might die. Thanks for a wonderful building episode. I love the mail box lighting with blocks. So cool. Have a lovely Christmas Etho and stay warm as much as you can. Need a good pair of socks to keep your feet warm.
As soon as you looked at the mail system i went "ooh pretty!!" Love the yellow and how youve blended it into the browns and reds. The orange/red/brown glass is kinda funky but i see how it'd grow on you, tbh i didnt really notice it until you pointed it out
absolutely lovely redstoning. Love being brought along. Im not redstone shy by any means but it is so nice being brought along, having everything explained. Very well done!

Thank you UA-cam notifications for giving me exactly what I wanted
I'm so impressed that you found time to upload a video while absolutely owning the fishing tournament. Lol!
The interior work looks amazing. It reminds me of your season seven base which was so original. You never cease to amaze me Mr Slab.
Ohh yeah, another Etho episode in perfect time for the weekend!
Wrt the copper grate aging on the farm: I think it's cool that each layer has a distinct age. It's kinda like you're going deeper or something.
love the lighting in the interior! I hadn't even noticed the gradient until it was pointed out, it blends so well I thought it was regular Minecraft lighting
4:39 The shape reminds me of the old pigman farm...🤣
i knew it reminded me of something
Great timing, I needed hospital distractions, thanks!
dude no way! i was just thinking about etho posting
The shading on the interior is something even Bdubs would be jealous of. Awesome job, can't wait to see how the base looks in a few more months.
as a aspiring musician I approve of the moss pit
I like the double supports for the walkways, maybe add stairs to make them look like castellated beams
Awesome new episode :D Loving how the interior is coming along, the forced lighting is very von sway, it makes it look cozy and warm.
The hammer bit was hysterical
I love the inside of the base!! The red, oranges and yellows make it feel warm :)
every upload for the last 12 years has brought me so much happiness, thank you etho
Bdubs and Etho posting seconds apart, best Friday ever :)
Not only an Etho video but a REDSTONE video at that! :D Let's goooooo!
The interior of the base is reallllllyyyy gooodd
i dont think ive missed an upload in years thank you for the enjoyment etho, and I hope you stay warm in the this chilly winter we are having!
Etho, it’s time you come down and visit Pearl and all us other Australians. You won’t freeze out here.
That hammer slam was unbelievable. Wow. Love the base decorations.
Merry Christmas Etho. Been watching for a long time. So grateful to have so many laughs for so many years. Thank you. This year has been a real knee slapper!
Ethos back!! It’s so great to see home back on hermitcraft and I love the forced lighting that was so convincing!
Ok that start had me literally choking from laughing so much. Brilliant.
I think the interior looks really nice. Also, good work on building that redstone on camera. Always cool when you're able to explain the technical stuff and show the build and thought process.
12:31 That yellow and gold texturing is so good! I bet Pearl would love to see it! 😍
Etho and Bdubs are my favorite people that do this UA-cam stuff
As soon as you looked at the mail system i went "ooh pretty!!"
Love the yellow and how youve blended it into the browns and reds. The orange/red/brown glass is kinda funky but i see how it'd grow on you, tbh i didnt really notice it until you pointed it out
omg 30secs in, bdubs body and backpack flew into the next episode
absolutely lovely redstoning. Love being brought along. Im not redstone shy by any means but it is so nice being brought along, having everything explained. Very well done!
yay, new etho!!
the moss farm area looks so freaking cool!
It’s been 500 years omg but glad to see etho on hermitcraft!!!
