I love how Etho gets as nostalgic about his old stuff as we do. As someone with a strong penchant for nostalgia, I feel that. This video really was a trip down memory lane, right in time for graduating college after over a decade of Etho.
One of my favorite historical tidbits is that nostalgia used to be considered a mental illness, a form of depression. And like it makes a lot of sense, it's so easy to be sad because things aren't the way they were

For the last year and a half I have been on my journey to watch all of his Minecraft Lets play episodes (for the first time). I'm at episode 495 so I can't watch it yet but glad to see Etho still making the videos!
Been here since the start pretty much, but I've had years I'd neglect to view and have to binge all of what I missed, great burst of nostalgia and happiness everytime. Hits like a drug haha.
imagine how legendary it would be if etho comes out with a movie long episode where he reveals he's actually the ore snatcher and hasn't uploaded because hes messing with Doc.
I think a cool idea could be to develop an area using all of your "forbidden" blocks & items from previous versions of MC as the main palette. It would give you a way to display them while having them serve a decorative purpose in the world! Maybe it could be a wing of the Minecraft museum area?
This video gave me such warm fuzzy feeling seeing Etho running around and doing a deep spring clean of the world. Each place just invokes such good memory not only the history of the world but also the history of Minecraft. I smiled throughout the video, and of course laughed out loud when Etho got got by the light grey stained glass pane, and the sign! XD
Thank you for the episode, Etho. My partner of 4 years passed away very recently, and I have been struggling, but the familiarity of your videos has been very comforting. I have definitely missed the regular Let's Play, however I think your plan of focusing on Hermitcraft for a while was a good idea, that series has been extra enjoyable this time around. Looking forward to next time. 💛
Hey man, I'm sorry you're going through something like that. Don't feel bad to take time to grieve and ask for support from friends and family, you can make it through this but don't try to do it alone
There's a number of things here I hadn't known about, but the way Etho keeps saying "our" or "we" or "us" as he talks about them makes me feel included, and I appreciate that so much. I may not have been here for most of this world but happy to be here now and sticking around for always! :D
the surprise mini world tour was so nostalgic, literally kept smiling as i recognized more and more places that i didn't even realize were "old" or at least old enough to be nostalgic about. crazy how i was growing up watching you in elementary reading comments about how they've been watching you for years and are now graduating college, to being in college myself. thanks for all the great videos etho! you never get old (in fact, I've been enjoying your videos more and more over the years!)
That was so nostalgic! Seeing all the chest monsters scattered around the world! Almost a world tour, just the behind the scenes of the world a bit more. Love all the series, even when their on a semi hiatus. I definitely appreciate the more dedicated love to hermit craft at the beginning of the seasons, that way your not so far behind all the other hermits every season.
I personally like that you focus on one series at a time, it really shows. This season of Hermitcraft is very reminiscent of Season 7, I remember how much time and effort you put into that one and look at how well it turned out.
Etho, you may never see this, but i need you to know I've been watching you for half my life and I'm now a 25 year old man serving in the US army and your videos are still what I look forward to the most. Your videos bring me so much joy and make my world small and safe for a little while. I'm really hoping that you get the chance to make videos more often, but I don't mind the wait. Keep up the awesome job and I hope you actually see this.
Seeing the old redstone testing ground brought so much nostalgia... the original mancave entrance... the big snowflake in the sky! I barely even remember the mushrooms under the canopy, and i don't remember what the canopy *is*, but i remember that it's there! Digging through 10 years of chests, seeing Etho fall for his own trolls... I fell off of minecraft content for probably several years, aside from an occasional check-in with Etho, but the recent seasons of HermitCraft and a renewed, sustained interest in this world have led to some of the best YT videos i've seen recently, and after 12-ish years, i think Etho and minecraft have added some wonderful moments of peace in my life.
I enjoy both the hermitcraft and LP series, and I totally get why the synchronous series is getting priority especially since it was the beginning phases of the season. I think what you’re doing with the episodes makes sense especially with how big of a grind this LP project is.
Hope you are doing alright. Can't wait for your next video! take your time though, we are all patiently waiting and know you have your own life. Live it to the fullest!
I absolutely loved Etho going around Marie Kondoing chests. Is nice seeing spots we don't really see that often anymore. Really puts in perspective how long its been since the beginning. My absolute favorite project was the moving storage made of minecarts, i still feel like its the coolest idea ever. Thank you so much for all these years Etho :)
Wow, this episode was so satisfying as somebody who's been watching since 105. It's always so fun being reminded of all the weird little one-off tests and old projects scattered around the map, and cleaning up all those chests is somehow a little affecting, like a sense of bittersweet closure almost
Hi, Mr. Etho. I just wanted to say thank you for staying to your authentic self. I have been watching you since I was in 3rd grade (around 8 years old) and now I am about to graduate college as a 21 year old. Your thousands of videos have brightened my day for over a decade and you are the still the same quirky, funny Etho that I started watching all those years ago. Even if I don't play Minecraft anymore, your videos are still so entertaining and make me appreciate the game that I grew up with. Thank you Etho!!
Honestly, it was like a mini world-tour as you went through and cleaned up your old storage rooms. Your last world tour was 3 years ago, I have a feeling that episode 600 is going to be awesome, not just to revisit the old stuff but just to hear your thoughts and feelings on how much you've evolved over time and what has changed throughout the years.
I remember laying on my grandparents couch and watching as Etho announced that the Nexus was the project he chose and being so excited. Now he’s cleaning it out for another revolutionary storage room. Don’t really have a point but just feels like we’ve come full circle.
Etho - you do projects for you and the viewers are just grateful to be along for the ride. We love your content and the more you enjoy what you're doing the more fun the video is to watch.
The amount of nostalgia I had in this episode is crazy, Its always amazing to go to different places in a old minecraft worlds and go through the chests, it gives the place life and gives a bit of lore, it gives the story of how a player interacted with the place and is like a window to the past of not only the player but of how minecraft evolved as a game, like you building an area with a new block new best block mentality gives a storyline of how the different blocks were released and how valuble they were in the past, not a lot of plople has a chest full of pertified slab, mending and infinity bows, infinite trading villagers stuff like that makes minercaft personal to the player. Thank you for the nostalgia Etho
Oh where, oh where as Etho gone, oh where, oh where could he be? Hope you’re doing well, possibly taking a break for yourself with family and friends. Can’t wait for next video!
Man I wish Etho kept recording himself exploring the world and picking up the items. It was pretty nostalgic going through everything and hearing some background stories xd
I feel like if ergo was 10% less critical about his content quality, we would have 3 times as much ergoslab. Been seeing a lot of cutted out footage of him on other hermits that def could be on a video but my boi is so picky we end up not seeing any, so sad
I’ve been watching Etho since I was in middle school and now I’m 22 and watching this video while my newborn daughter sleeps next to me. Thank you Etho for years of entertainment!
I would totally be interested in a super-long no commentary, uncut video of you just going through and cleaning out every chest from every area. It'd be a nice dose of nostalgia to put on in the background.
Etho, I've been watching your videos for nearly a decade and as long as there is still a let's play, I'll watch every minute. I and most long time viewers can appreciate the sorting project simply for the fact that it will make your life easier and help you modernize the series. I loved watching you visit old projects and do house keeping. Thank you for all of your videos. Whenever you upload I know my day will have a happy ending
I remember on e of the first times Etho put his world up for a download. I was in highschool on a laptop I got for Christmas and I was playing on my own world with my brothers. We downloaded Ethos LP world and our computers were not having it. Anyways, I'm knocking on the door to my 30's now and I haven't missed an episode. Thank you for the MANY years of entertainment and memories you've provided.
My kiddo turned 14 on Monday. I've been watching your videos for... well that long at least? Can't believe your on Episode 586. And I'm glad as much as you've grown - you've still remained "YOU" if that makes any sense. Time does move in the blink of an eye the older I get. It was fun watching you go through your world chasing down chests - it was like re-visiting all of your old work and brought a lot of good memories back :)
@@enjoyer8700 u dont gotta u can watch however u want :) i've been here for years and tbh any episode is a good starting point bc they mostly stand on their own
There’s something so satisfying about that montage of punching out the chests. I feel like I’m watching someone clean their room. That post feeling of living in an organised space.. so good
I loved watching you go to the old builds for just a second and looking at the chests, It brought back memories from your videos from 5, 6, or even 10 years ago.
This episode was somehow more nostalgic than the world tours. It's like the world tours are the "public facing" episodes where you can show off the bigger picture to new people, but this episode had a lot of little secrets that were only perhaps a segment of an episode long ago, like rare/no longer available items.
Just came here to mention. @Ethoslab you really really really made my childhood thank you for all the great episodes over the 10 years. I remember the old base I miss it quite a bit and sometimes even watch the original map episodes just for the nostalgia trip :)
Nothing makes me happier than knowing etho still does stuff on this world he started when i was a young child in elementary school who was captived with his style of doing projects for fun
Exam tommorow, this is the perfect procrastination oppertunity, thanks etho. Your redstone builds are one of the things that got me from a child to almost finishing a degree in physics!
That’s an awesome feat. But it sounded like you picked up one of ethos’s characteristics of leaving a Redstone Project. If you return, I hope it goes successful.
@@tristianity8529 Ha! it was a lucky punt. my mate had a cosmology exam on the same day but the title of his was just "cosmology", so different uni. hope your exam went well!
I linked this video to share in my discord community for my realm and this is the message; (Url) watching Etho go around cleaning up his chest monsters scattered around his world to put in his storage system he’s building after a decade of playing on the world brings me a lot of peace. The fact that he said “you never know the value some is going to take from your videos…” as I was typing this only doubled that feeling, that was nice. The timing as we have been slowly preparing to build a community storage hall underneath the main end island so that it’s accessible from anywhere in the world. Nice. Thanks, Etho
Hey Etho, I’ve been watching your videos for about ten years, and have never commented. This time though, I watched the video all the way through probably 4 or 5 times this week and felt it was finally time. We all admire your commitment to this series and for inspiring others. Your creative process and ability to make changes while still keeping true to your core is deeply moving to your audience… and to me personally. There are thousands of comments like this one. Your videos have been a much needed reprieve over the years. I’m starting a tattoo apprenticeship on Saturday, my career endeavour is to be half as committed and creative as you have been with your art. This is my favourite episode of the entire series so far. Not because of Nostalgia- I’m not sad things aren’t how they were… I’m elated and excited to see where things are going. Sincerely, Thank you.
the realistic mining cave is one of my favourite episodes, saved in my watch later and every world download i go and check on it, so glad to see you still remember it
It feels like a veritable lifetime since we've seen this world! The novelty of season 10 of Hermitcraft and having you fully onboard with it has been exciting but I was just feeling like the LP had been gone for far too long. Glad to have it back, even putting aside the single player aspects of it, it's nice to be in a world steeped with history, and this episode really exemplified that with your consideration of what chests were okay to break.
I love projects like this even if it feels repetitive. Just seeing the incremental progress on something so massive episode to episode is just so satisfying. I think deep down that really why most people watch Minecraft lets plays. There's just something deeply satisfying about seeming something so huge come together over time.
You have always been my favorite Minecrafter, I don't think that will ever change. You have the old school feel but keep bringing the new along with you. It's the perfect mix. You also explore all parts of Minecraft which is awesome and might be part of why I too love all parts of Minecraft.
This felt like such a monumental episode. So much nostalgia going around the world, seeing some things not seen in over a hundred episodes, finishing up this massive project reminiscent of the series defining Nexus… absolutely loved it. I’ve never been more excited for the future of the single player world! :)
This has to be one of the best episodes for me. I’ve spent years and years (full decade?) perfecting storage grouping and organizing with Excel, adding with each new update. To see you go through and consolidate your storage: I’ve done that (not to your scale). I’d forgotten so many of those past projects you’d done. That mini-tour it resulted in was also great for a return to the series.
Its so funny having etho talk about everyone having their own projects they like the most. And then mention clearing slab city off camera. I dont know why but im obsessed with slab city and always wish it would make a return. Something about it was just so satisfying.
I enjoy seeing the different approaches for the different styles. On HC, Etho simplified his storage so that it's super light on redstone. On the LP, insane unliminited minefield of redstone storage system of doom. It's very satisfying to see Etho clean up his hoards. They weren't hurting anything, other than performance, but clearing away the insanity can be fun. I do miss episode frequency, as I'm sure many do. But I'm much happier to wait, knowing that creators are having more fun and/or enjoying the content they're creating more. Balance is important. So many creators cranked out so much content as quick as they could for a long time. Many of them look back at it now with disdain, they don't like the quality and so on. I think that clearly taints any fun they may have had making that content. So I'm happy for the creators to do better for themselves. Enjoying the process more now, and later.
I love these little maintenance videos - cleaning up, connecting projects, bugfixing etc. It's needed and allows us to revisit places, enjoy the trip down memory lane and yet feel like stuff got done
What a ride it has been throughout the years. Almost certain that I specifically made this UA-cam account so that I could subscribe and I remember you being my first one (I misclicked one day last year bc the new YT layout and accidentally unsubbed for a second). I could spent hours watching you go through and clean up this world and sort all the memories that come along with it. Thank you for everything Etho!
It’s videos like this that made me wish that Etho streamed! I’d love to watch all the calm, organizational parts and just seeing all of the island again. It’s been a MINUTE since the last island tour!
The release of this episode could not have had a better timing for me, since I was just looking for something to calm me down after a rough and frustrating day! It's so cool to see this massive project become operational, and i loved the trip down memory lane as you went around your world to collect all the items. As someone who is very nosy, getting to look through all the random chests that would normally get ignored in videos was actually really satisfying lol, and I loved that you got trolled by your past self. What you have with this world is honestly really special--with all the stories, personality, and creativity that it holds--and that really came through in this video. Thank you as always for all the work you put into these videos, this absolutely brightened my day :)
I absolutely love watching these LP episodes. I remember my dad showing me your videos nearly 10 years ago when i was 12/13, and you're what got me into minecraft. Currently have my own 5 year old hardcore world now with lots of inspiration from your videos, especially the lets play series. I hope this series goes on for years and years
Watching Etho collect all the scattered chests in the world was like watching my life flash before my eyes lol. It's crazy just how long we've been watching this series! Also, though I could be biased as I have enjoyed all your vanilla SMP series, I think focusing on Hermitcraft was a very good idea. It's made a huge difference this season for you to be so present on the server. I'm used to long waits for the singleplayer series. To me, it's about the quality, not the quantity. Of course, I hope this series will continue ad infinitum, but taking time away to be part of the Hermitcraft server during it's limited run is important, and the lets play will still be here to return to no matter when you have time to return to it.
It’s so nostalgic seeing old parts of the world that haven’t been visited in a while. I’ve been watching this series since I was a kid and it’s still so fun to watch :)
Holy cow. I haven’t watched your video in 5 FREAKING YEARS. Ever since college and being in a relationship and saving up for a house working 2 jobs, I don’t know how I got this recommended somehow. Nostalgia hit me hard today. I used to fall asleep to your videos 😭

I just wanna say thank you etho for continuing to upload throughout the years i’ve been following from 2013 and you were and huge part of my childhood.

Every day I wake up, then I start to break up. Lonely is a man without an Etho upload.
it's gonna happen any second, i can feel my etho sense tingling.
Real
Still tingling
The etho sense has been not great this time :(@@particleman5893

I love how the videos aged enough were Etho is trolling himself 16:11
Etho getting got by the "Don't Read This" sign that he placed is the most Etho thing ever
For the last year and a half I have been on my journey to watch all of his Minecraft Lets play episodes (for the first time). I'm at episode 495 so I can't watch it yet but glad to see Etho still making the videos!
The best journey
Same, but I'm at 234
Been here since the start pretty much, but I've had years I'd neglect to view and have to binge all of what I missed, great burst of nostalgia and happiness everytime. Hits like a drug haha.
That’s dedication
Etho is one of the OG's.
imagine how legendary it would be if etho comes out with a movie long episode where he reveals he's actually the ore snatcher and hasn't uploaded because hes messing with Doc.
HOW COOL WOULD THAT BE?! I actually think etho is the ore snatcher
Etho o Etho where art thou etho
I think a cool idea could be to develop an area using all of your "forbidden" blocks & items from previous versions of MC as the main palette. It would give you a way to display them while having them serve a decorative purpose in the world! Maybe it could be a wing of the Minecraft museum area?
I was just thinking about how those items could live in the museum! I miss that project.
Love this idea
This video gave me such warm fuzzy feeling seeing Etho running around and doing a deep spring clean of the world. Each place just invokes such good memory not only the history of the world but also the history of Minecraft. I smiled throughout the video, and of course laughed out loud when Etho got got by the light grey stained glass pane, and the sign! XD
"Each one of these tells a story; I just don't know what that story is." 🤣
Everyone needs to do a Etho upload version of a rain dance.
Hope he's okay I've begun the summoning dance
Very satisfying episode Etho. Seeing all these places that haven’t been “on camera” in so many years
Thank you for the episode, Etho. 💛
My condolences. Etho's uploads always are a tiny breath of fresh air
Hey man, I'm sorry you're going through something like that. Don't feel bad to take time to grieve and ask for support from friends and family, you can make it through this but don't try to do it alone
4:11 Etho this project isn't only for you!!! There are definitely those of us out here who loooooove this project :)
love watching etho make large redstone things
There's a number of things here I hadn't known about, but the way Etho keeps saying "our" or "we" or "us" as he talks about them makes me feel included, and I appreciate that so much. I may not have been here for most of this world but happy to be here now and sticking around for always! :D
I felt the same. I just whatch etho since like a few years but I binge watched so many ild Videos and always try to be included 😊
the surprise mini world tour was so nostalgic, literally kept smiling as i recognized more and more places that i didn't even realize were "old" or at least old enough to be nostalgic about. crazy how i was growing up watching you in elementary reading comments about how they've been watching you for years and are now graduating college, to being in college myself. thanks for all the great videos etho! you never get old (in fact, I've been enjoying your videos more and more over the years!)
Both the light grey stained glass AND the "Don't Read This!" sign... Past Etho got Present Etho good!!
Good to see the LP back!
HUUUUHH Its LP oh my goodness yay
I personally like that you focus on one series at a time, it really shows. This season of Hermitcraft is very reminiscent of Season 7, I remember how much time and effort you put into that one and look at how well it turned out.
Etho, you may never see this, but i need you to know I've been watching you for half my life and I'm now a 25 year old man serving in the US army and your videos are still what I look forward to the most. Your videos bring me so much joy and make my world small and safe for a little while.
I'm really hoping that you get the chance to make videos more often, but I don't mind the wait. Keep up the awesome job and I hope you actually see this.
bro same
Seeing the old redstone testing ground brought so much nostalgia... the original mancave entrance... the big snowflake in the sky!
13:27 Congrats on your FREE GLASS! xD
Oh my god! This guy!
18:00 - I absolutely was thinking just about 1 tall base when it was getting to that point!
This gave me chills!

@@masterjbtjust found it! Episode 473-474
This is the dream of every viewer ever wanting a sorting video.
Sorting Etho’s world…kinda the pinnacle lol.
Love the system!!
Etho - you do projects for you and the viewers are just grateful to be along for the ride. We love your content and the more you enjoy what you're doing the more fun the video is to watch.
Etho: I'm a hoarder.
Etho's 10 year old Keyboard: I KNOW
The spacebar: I'm already dead.
Hope you're doing alright Etho. Haven't seen a vid in a while, and I hope everything is going well for you
Man I wish Etho kept recording himself exploring the world and picking up the items.
@@bolivetoyou mean etho?
@@dejus_e ergo? He's in every video.
It was fun watching you go through your world chasing down chests - it was like re-visiting all of your old work and brought a lot of good memories back :)
every time etho uploads an angel gains its wings
all those poor wingless angels :(
Every time Etho uploads an angel gets its snacks ;)

@@enjoyer8700 u dont gotta u can watch however u want :) i've been here for years and tbh any episode is a good starting point bc they mostly stand on their own
I really don't care what Etho is doing, just love him talking about Minecraft. Anyone else like me?
To think, it all started with a boat road. Now this madman is making shulker-based item hard-drives. Love ya Etho, keep it up!
Such a satisfying video to watch; something about getting a glimpse of past adventures through chests was pretty nostalgic. Great work Etho!
Exam tommorow, this is the perfect procrastination oppertunity, thanks etho. Your redstone builds are one of the things that got me from a child to almost finishing a degree in physics!
That’s incredible!!! Good luck!
Cosmology?
That’s an awesome feat. But it sounded like you picked up one of ethos’s characteristics of leaving a Redstone Project. If you return, I hope it goes successful.
@@lowcostfish No way, it was. Galaxies and cosmology.
@@tristianity8529 Ha! it was a lucky punt. my mate had a cosmology exam on the same day but the title of his was just "cosmology", so different uni. hope your exam went well!
I linked this video to share in my discord community for my realm and this is the message;
(Url) watching Etho go around cleaning up his chest monsters scattered around his world to put in his storage system he’s building after a decade of playing on the world brings me a lot of peace.
Hey Etho,
I’ve been watching your videos for about ten years, and have never commented.
Sincerely,
Thank you.
the realistic mining cave is one of my favourite episodes, saved in my watch later and every world download i go and check on it, so glad to see you still remember it
I didn't expect this at all but I always love to see more of the OG World I was really loving the new Storage System project
There's something so incredibly therapeutic about this organisation episode
The nostalgia from seeing all of these locations as you clean up chests is so intense. I love it.
He should do a nostalgia episode
What a ride it has been throughout the years. Almost certain that I specifically made this UA-cam account so that I could subscribe and I remember you being my first one (I misclicked one day last year bc the new YT layout and accidentally unsubbed for a second). I could spent hours watching you go through and clean up this world and sort all the memories that come along with it. Thank you for everything Etho!
It’s videos like this that made me wish that Etho streamed! I’d love to watch all the calm, organizational parts and just seeing all of the island again. It’s been a MINUTE since the last island tour!
It was honesty really fun watching Etho go around his world looking at old chests. Can't explain why but it was entertaining
The best series on UA-cam
I like the walk down memory lane to clean everything up, some of that stuff we haven't seen in 10+ years!
I loved the chest clean up, we got to see old builds again and it’s like watching an ASMR cleaning video
I LOVED the chest cleanup! Would love to see more. It was really nice going down memory lane; I love seeing old projects. Keep it up Etho!
Holy cow. I haven’t watched your video in 5 FREAKING YEARS. Ever since college and being in a relationship and saving up for a house working 2 jobs, I don’t know how I got this recommended somehow. Nostalgia hit me hard today. I used to fall asleep to your videos 😭
Always a good day when Etho uploads
I think I speak for just about mostly everyone that it doesn't matter what you're uploading, we're watching! We are absolutely loving how much etho content we're getting. Plus when you play more hermitcraft, we get to see you from other perspectives which is amazing!
I have no idea how he does it, but Etho entertained us for 40 minutes and he was just moving stuff around!!!
I just wanna say thank you etho for continuing to upload throughout the years i’ve been following from 2013 and you were and huge part of my childhood.
This is almost the perfect etho episode. Little nostalgia. Little redstone. A MONTAGE!! I love it. Thank you for all the fun and great times we’ve had over the years. Thank you for the endless hours of entertainment through the good times and the bad
Dude, within 5 minutes Etho has given me the solution to the exact problem I was dealing with in my own long term world.
