A while back, there was a show called “trauma center, life in the ER“. In it, in one episode, three different people went into the ER with injuries to their temporal artery, the artery behind the temple. All three died. One was an enclosed injury, the other two work cuts or stats. Also, you can’t help but react to a knife attack to the face. If you’re trying to illicit a reaction from someone who’s trying to hurt you so that you can get away, take them down, whatever it is that you need to do, attacking the face is a great bridge to any other attack.not to mention the damage can be devastating in itself.

Coming back to this 6 months later and watching the elite you video subscription. Better appreciation of Mike’s mindset etc. like the improvised weapons.. the table, or a corner of a wall.. (fixed weapons) great stuff!

Very true words being spoken here. Take a look at the jails...jail made weapons such as "shanks" can do tremendous damage to the human body, even in the hands of untrained individuals.

First comment on UA-cam ever. Really appreciate how you both break down a concept into a digestible, simple and practical way…7 year old Superman punch force multiplier and cadaver with pen in skull as a practical argument to overcome ignorance…keep it up gentlemen

Awesome content!! Jack and Michael together break down the subject matter in a way that both the layman and the expert can understand. the edged weapon, especially the edged weapons suggested on elite you, only have to touch to cause grievous bodily injury. I know you both understand , but it needs to be reinforced that you are saving lives with this training! Very proud to know you both!

Is the point to defend yourself or to mess up the other guy?
Where I live, using a knife as a self-defense tool can get me in some serious legal trouble, whether I actually know what I'm doing or not.
I prefer blunt weapons, a half-sized baseball bat can be super persuasive and has much better chance of being considered a "reasonable use of force" in a courtroom.

The point is to get away. That may entail screwing the other guy up so bad that its possible to get away.

      @@EliteYouChannel I appreciate the point.
Just please consider that the legal considerations still hold in many jurisdictions.
I cannot imagine myself telling a judge I sliced a dude just so I could get away.
Not everyone lives in a place with a Stand your Ground law.
Blunt weapons can very well help set a better stage for when you face that judge.

Also, when people say a blade won’t be good in a “self defense” scenario. As I’ve mentioned before never assume I’m not the guy with the knife if someone presents a blade to me.. Also, I refer them to some Sayoc Kali videos and attended a seminar.

Most times if people want to do you harm they won’t wait for a weapon to be present from who they are attacking. If they are armed (bad guys) they will already have their weapons out. There’s plenty of live leak videos demonstrating this type of mindset. So, most likely if you you pull your tool/weapon out and they already haven’t, most likely they aren’t armed. They won’t wait for you to present something to harm them. Go to town and destroy. At least in my opinion.
    Great content! Keep ‘em coming.

If blade is not long enough to cut arteries throw it away.

    • @EliteYouChannel
      @EliteYouChannel  Рік тому +2

Hahahaha. The radial artery is 3mm from the skin. So I guess you’re right…. If it’s under 3mm it’s not a good knife 👍
Joking aside, smaller knives with proper skills will do amazing damage. Larger knives held by incompetent individuals will do little to no damage. Skills over equipment. We carry smaller blades all the time. We will have no issue putting someone into the dirt when the time comes.
Smaller knives are easier to conceal, deploy, and much harder to disarm. There are many reasons to carry a small blade. There are many reasons to carry a large blade. Choose the tool that will serve you best based on your needs and skills.
      Thanks for watching!

Is a Knife a Good Tool for Self Defense? Ask the douchebags that attacked Mr Miu. At least, the ones who lived.

What you all are being exposed to is an onion. Trust me, there are so many more layers to the subject matter that they still have to offer. Go to one of their courses!
