"mu" means "you/your". This word is now usually used to refer things or stuff but sometimes it's still used to refer human. 2. Your pronounciation for "tulong" is exactly the same as we do in Javanese language and it also refers to the same meaning. 3. Oh I just found another similar word, it's "kalimutan" which means forget. . In Javanese, it has the base word "limut" means forget. With affix 'ka-an', "kalimutan" means "occupied with forgetfulness". This word isn't used on daily basis but we still understand it. It's still used in literature tradition though. 4. I re-watched this video and found out that "gawin" is also similar to base word "gawe" in Javanese which means "to do/ to work/ to make". I was fortunate to visit the Philippines a few years ago (Cebu) and I loved it. The people are so friendly. I am now learning Filipino to surprise my friend
I am Filipino, but I don’t know that much since I was mostly raised in Canada and was taught English and French. It’s hella embarrassing because my other Filipino friends and relatives can’t believe I don’t know because I’m literally 100% Filipino💀💕
Well it’s time for you to learn. The best way to learn Filipino is to have frequent conversions with your family. Also by asking your parents to teach you Filipino.
As a dayaknesse, a tribe that come from Central Borneo - Indonesia, I can see many similar word that dayak and tagalog share. Like "ikaw", its have similar meaning : "you". And "ako" mean the same, "me".. interesting...
Es muy facil. Mucho palabras en tagalog es el mismo. Para es para. Kamusta es como esta/hola. Pero es pero. Quieres un idioma desde Philippines mucho mucho mismo estudias Cebuano. Cebuano uses a Latin writing system and has more words taken from Spanish than any other language of the Philippines. Tagalog will get you more bang for your buck though because there are more Tagalog speakers and people who understand Tagalog than any other language in the Philippines
Haha to be honest, and this goes on to say for most foreigners planning to visit the philippines, most filipinos actually speak really good english, so communication would be the least of your worries. You could literally approach a random person walking in a street and ask for directions in english. I mean, the accent might be different but yeah.
i understand tagalog but I can’t bring myself to speak it, The words usually end up sounding funny and my filipino relatives make fun of it 😂😂 And my mom is planning to make me stay there
I moved to the Philippines a long time ago, and i can relate also :( I had no fun experience studying there because they wouldnt want to talk to me since i speak english.. i had to stay like that for so many years and i still cant speak tagalog. i also can understand it fluently, but im also shy. I advise that you should practice reading tagalog books, and also get english sentences and try translating it by yourself, and see if you did a good job with making sentences in tagalog. Are you going to study there? I have alot of advice for you and id like to share some things that i know about schooling in the philippines and how the people are like :) Dont be scared theyre actually really nice people
nt_li I dont know understand or speak tagalog but the way I think of it is: If they speak english with filipino accents, then its fine if i speak tagalog with an american accent.
Same haha. I can understand perfectly well but I just can’t structure my sentences properly. Especially with the different word forms for everything. It’s so confusing. But I moved to the Philippines two months ago after spending my whole life overseas. Now I’m really stressed trying to become fluent because it will be over for me once we go back to face-to-face school.

Filipino and English are the two national languages of the Philippines; Tagalog is a language native to the northern region. Yes, those are two different languages. A Tagalog speaker can easily understand Filipino, but a Filipino speaker cannot easily comprehend Tagalog.
I have learned some words and phrases here or there with my best kaibigan Elmo from ILocos he Spoke a different type or dialect but he was fluent in Tagalog. My late friend I kept the promise to learn and it is because as a Porto Ricano I find many familiar words from my language. This is a great method to learn I love it.
Bisaya is not a single language it is a group of languages. What I think you mean is Cebuano Visayan language. There are many Visayan Languages alike Jiligaino Visayan, Huarai Visayan, Aclano Visayan, Antiquenio Visayan and so on. Pronunciation of the languages' name are in Spanish accent.
11:47 the tagalog translation should be "pakikuha na ang bill natin para makaalis na tayo" because the first word in the english sentence is "please" so the tagalog translation should come in a requesting form, not imperative form. "paki-" is a tagalog prefix that is used when you want to request something, which also means "please" in english.
I'm was born in the Philippines but I was raised in Canada for most my life and so I got used to speaking English than my own language and I'm a bit ashamed that everyone else in my family can speak tagalog/bisaya except me and I feel a bit left out when my cousins speak tagalog and I can't respond back in tagalog because I just got used to speaking in english that I can't even talk back in my own language so watching this is helping me slowly getting better at trying to speak tagalog

Pinoy ako, totoo naman nakakalito ang ikinagagalak kitang makilala, why ask her to delete her comment? Ikinagagalak means i am happy Kitang makilala means to meet you. So you can use masaya instead for happy.. "masaya akong makilala ka" means i am happy to meet you.

The formal form of most of these phrases can simply be just adding a "po" at the end so it's easier to remember while still being acceptable. Ex. "kamusta ka po?" and "kamusta po kayo" means the same
The grammar of catalog is really difficult, cause there’s only a little similar to English, Spanish, Japanese, and or Thai, which I have been studying, though the pronunciation is kind of easy to learn.
0:38 not necessarily it is talking to just 1 person, "kayo" means plural. "Kamusta ka" is when just you're talking to one person, but it's not that strict in terms of rules in tagalog, because we're kinda used to the "kamusta kayo" than the "correct-grammared" ones it's just that English doesn't have an exact translation for the plural "ka" which is" (kayo) so when i say "kamusta kayo?" it just means in english "how are you all" or just "how are you two?" if you're just asking 2 people. for example: there's someone knocking on your door we say "sino po sila?" in literal translation in english "who are you all" but remember it's not strict though in terms of rules.

Ah, same here, I was free too ask, but I wasn't curious too ask until now, I just have anxiety when I ask questions ; w ;
Nuee’s Aesthetic Vlogs same!!!
Same here, I was away from the Philippines for a long time for my childhood so I lost how to speak, read, listen, and write Filipino.
same XD I used too.
Im a 12 year old girl that's trying to learn Tagalog. Im Thai but for some reason I want to learn a lot of languages. This is the third one im trying to learn. This channel helps me a lot. Thank you 😊
wow ! keep up that determination kid ,, you are very talented :D cheers from a filipino
no, because i'm a filipino, and i've just watched "Thong Ek Mhorya Tha Chalong" that drama is so so good and, now it made me want to learn Thai language 😭 for me to more way understand 😭
Jesus loves you Godbless you
Keep learning languages young lady. It will help you in life.
I live in Australia, white 25yo Australian man, and work at a restaurant where my boss and the chefs are Filipino, I was so intrigued by the way they speak to each other I started learning Tagalog, when I first started saying "Kamusta" at the start of shift and "Maraming salamat po" at the end of shift she was amazed because a previous employee complained about them speaking to each other in Tagalog, while I went the opposite way and started learning it
Needless to say I'm rostered on every day we're open and respected highly, I love it
R.I.P my tongue 😂 .
I'm from Malaysia by the way .
Lol we both learning. But I am not Malaysia (tho I did live there, beautiful place really)
@@goldengifts3830 . Huhuhu yeah you're right ! So what nationality are you?

Wall .E sobrang Dali Lang nito.. Basic to me haha from Philippines
Learn it! Too much good songs in Filipino.
I'm Filipino and I can speak fluent Tagalog (cuz I grew up in the Philippines) but I'm here to review because nowadays our generation uses a lot of loanwords and I thought I should know my own language before learning other languages (I learnt Korean and I'm currently learning Japanese. I want to learn many more languages but this is all I can learn at the moment) I hope Filipinos can appreciate our culture and language.
Mabuti aking kaibigan. You will find that the more languages you work on the easier other languages become because all languages are interconnected to some degree. Mabuting pagbati. Magkita tayo mumaya
Magandang Hapon means "A beautiful Japanese" too
Well it is when you say it like this magandang haPON
hahaha yes depending on the stress
bwiset HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA
🤣😂
Lol 😂
I was fortunate to visit the Philippines a few years ago (Cebu) and I loved it. The people are so friendly. I am now learning Filipino to surprise my friend
just a FYI the cebu speaks differently than say manilla . its like mandarin and Cantonese
Filipina here! I needed this so much! Maraming Salamat po!
You're so pretty :) I'm from Malaysia, I'll meet my friend from Philippines tomorrow. I wanna learn some Filipino, so I can say it to him haha
I can teach you
I'm Russian and this language sounds really beautiful😃
As a dayaknesse, a tribe that come from Central Borneo - Indonesia, I can see many similar word that dayak and tagalog share. Like "ikaw", its have similar meaning : "you". And "ako" mean the same, "me".. interesting...
I’m Mexican and my Filipino friends really want me to learn Tagalog. I hope this works!
If your okay you say
Ayos Lang ako. ikaw?
If your not okay you say
Ayos Lang ako. Ikaw?
This is exactly how my day goes
Lmao, i also noticed this😂
I died 😂😂😂😂
aww:
Ay dama
*You're actually
Haha to be honest, and this goes on to say for most foreigners planning to visit the philippines, most filipinos actually speak really good english, so communication would be the least of your worries. You could literally approach a random person walking in a street and ask for directions in english. I mean, the accent might be different but yeah.
Shut up. Eh di wag ka manuod
@@chaopanofasia8490 Easy brod. Anong problema? Hahaha inom nalang naten yan
I hear these in people in provinces but not anymore in the cities... its just so refreshing to hear tagalog! Love our own language! 💖💜

@@Raj-y1k sure, where u from? Your name is tagalog which mean God 😅
many of my friends speak filipino, now am in love with this, so I started learning it.
I recently moved here and your videos really helped me, when when no one is around ...love them thanks a lot
Oh wow! I love the Filipino language and I've only started learning 10mins ago. Watch this space.
i understand tagalog but I can’t bring myself to speak it, The words usually end up sounding funny and my filipino relatives make fun of it 😂😂 And my mom is planning to make me stay there
I moved to the Philippines a long time ago, and i can relate also :( I had no fun experience studying there because they wouldnt want to talk to me since i speak english.. i had to stay like that for so many years and i still cant speak tagalog. i also can understand it fluently, but im also shy. I advise that you should practice reading tagalog books, and also get english sentences and try translating it by yourself, and see if you did a good job with making sentences in tagalog. Are you going to study there? I have alot of advice for you and id like to share some things that i know about schooling in the philippines and how the people are like :) Dont be scared theyre actually really nice people
When they are talking, it's much better to imitate on how they talk like the intonation etc.
nt_li I dont know understand or speak tagalog but the way I think of it is: If they speak english with filipino accents, then its fine if i speak tagalog with an american accent.
SUCCESS IS NOT FINALURE; IS NOT FATAL :IT IS THE COURAGE TO CONTINUE THAT COUNTS. BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES ARE LIKE BUSES, THERE’S ALWAYS ANOTHER ONE COMING.
Talking about opportunities investing in crypto currency now should be in every wise individuals list. In two to three years time you might be estactic with the decision made today
Truth, it is really profitable as an investment.
It’s fortunate that many of us are still confused about crypto currency while others are busy earning from it

I remember friends calling me crazy when I started investing in bitcoin now I shut them up with my 4 figures weekly returns.
i am not from the philipines, nor do i have any filipino genes or family members, but i do have a filipino online friend who actually speaks tagalog and is very dear to me... i hope this will be a pleasant surprise to them
Here because a filipino guy started at my work and I get along and realised I know a fair bit about a lot of countries but nothing about the phillipines, really cool to learn.
Truth is we Filipinos are rarely say some of those phrases
-Harvey Santiago, yes, you are correct. Most Filipinos abbreviate stuff.
They always mix it with english
This may be true,, but where do we start ? In school they don't teach language in abbreviations,,
You comment may be true, but actually discourages me from trying to learn,, what's the point if it's not useful.
Regards Paul.
Wow, so I learned all this for nothing?
Sydney Dwny since most Filipinos abbreviate stuff, they should create a new writing system that allows them to remember the words like using symbols
Actually, instead of "hanggang sa muli", we say "kita kits na lang!" hahaha Which I guess is already slang. "kita" is to see.
Kitakits or kita kits is a filipino slang
Very nice and informative video. Pagpalain kayo ng Diyos.
Filipino and English are the two national languages of the Philippines; Tagalog is a language native to the northern region. Yes, those are two different languages.
A Tagalog speaker can easily understand Filipino, but a Filipino speaker cannot easily comprehend Tagalog.
I have learned some words and phrases here or there with my best kaibigan Elmo from ILocos he
Spoke a different type or dialect but he was fluent in Tagalog. My late friend I kept the promise to learn and it is because as a Porto Ricano I find many familiar words from my language. This is a great method to learn I love it.
Woowww we do have the same version of "help"
Malaysian use tolong instead of tulong
I speak Bisaya, but now I want to know Tagalog, thanks for the lessons, they are really helpful, I can see the similarities and the huge differences.
This is probably one of the best channels to learn with...simple, thank you...salamat 😂
It's quite easy actually because there is no complex pronunciation like Chinese or French whatsoever. So excited to learn Tagalog btw
It will be easy tbh
Pilipino ako hehe
(Im Filipino Hehe)
Attempted telling someone “nice to meet you”. Ended up in a really bad tongue twister brain fart.
It shouldn’t be so hard to say “nice to meet you” lmao 😭😭 cries in Chinese

ito ay hindi nararapat at dapat mong tenggalin ito ngayon!!
Jia jia ouch...
Why is everyone telling him to delete this comment?
Pinoy ako, totoo naman nakakalito ang ikinagagalak kitang makilala, why ask her to delete her comment?
Ikinagagalak means i am happy
Kitang makilala means to meet you.
So you can use masaya instead for happy..
"masaya akong makilala ka" means i am happy to meet you.
I'm Mexican and want to learn Tagalog. My coworker is Pinoy and was invited to a party. I want to be respectful and learn the basics.
Watch tagalog movies with Subtitles
" she teaches very well..and so nice to look at her everytime she speaks so cute2x ..so lovely..tnx "
I am half pinoy but unfortunately dont know how to speak philippine language - with your channel i can at least learn some basics. Thanks!
what country are you living now?
Bilang isang Pilipino, ngayon ko lang nalaman na ang paumanhin at patawad pala ay hindi magkapareho. All my life I thought both of them means 'sorry'
Hahah, I'm Filipino but still I'm watching this.. 😂😂 Nice one ate.. Good job!! Ikinagagalak kong manood ng video nyo.. 👏👏
LOL ako din
i'm watching this as someone who knows how to speak filipino and though i am very familiar will all terms, this video was still weirdly entertaining. there's just something about the fact that there are so many people who want to learn filipino, the language i grew up speaking, that makes me feel nice
maraming salamat ito po! koreana ako at I have mga pinoy kaibigan, pero hinidi pwede fluently speak ako sa nila. dahil hindi nila understand ang usa pronunciation.

I've used the phrases to greet people good morning and afternoon often. Also, thank you.

When it comes to greetings you can use english here. People often used it in daily basis other than tagalog.
I can understand tagalog but have a hard time speaking it. Taglish is my go-to but I really want to be able to speak fluently so I can connect with more people better
I'm half Filipino and I want to learn Tagalog because my Lola taught me a little when I was younger but forgot, and my mum and her family and mine were all raised in Australia so my mum doesn't speak too much Tagalog or know much either. I want to impress my Lola!!

I like your language tho. Not many people know/want to learn the language, so it's fun to swear in Tagalog actually haha

Indian here learning Tagalog
This is why I love this language so much! MABUHAY ANG MGA PATAY
hahaha😂
The formal form of most of these phrases can simply be just adding a "po" at the end so it's easier to remember while still being acceptable.
Ex.
"kamusta ka po?" and "kamusta po kayo" means the same
Maraming salamat po
The grammar of catalog is really difficult, cause there’s only a little similar to English, Spanish, Japanese, and or Thai, which I have been studying, though the pronunciation is kind of easy to learn.
yeah tagalog grammar is crazy
Learn the "Focus of the Verbs".
0:38 not necessarily it is talking to just 1 person, "kayo" means plural.
"Kamusta ka" is when just you're talking to one person, but it's not that strict in terms of rules in tagalog, because we're kinda used to the "kamusta kayo" than the "correct-grammared" ones
it's just that English doesn't have an exact translation for the plural "ka" which is" (kayo)
so when i say "kamusta kayo?" it just means in english "how are you all" or just "how are you two?" if you're just asking 2 people.
for example: there's someone knocking on your door
we say "sino po sila?" in literal translation in english "who are you all"
but remember it's not strict though in terms of rules.

I am a Mexican married to a Filipino. I just need to learn the language and be able to communicate with him and his family.
i’m a full filipino but was a student in a very private school - where everyone speaks english. i mean EVERYONE. so i kinda forgot my own native language. i can still speak it, everyday communication with people but writing essays, speeches in filipino, i absolutely suck at it.
Your channel is really helpful I’m a English speaker which I want to learn other language but I mostly want to learn Filipino then Spanish , although I know a little about Spanish but it’s hard 😫thank you a lot for helping who want to speak other languages ❤️🤞
