Coinage should be in solid copper. Coinage should be in gold and silver exclusively as was originally intended. Coinage in metal of the Earth or natural has intrinsic value unlike the fiat currency.
Yeah. I personally hate the zinc pennies, and I don't like how flat the designs have been on modern coins.
But when coins are made to represent a denomination of currency, it isn't easy to make them out of something worth more than face value.
People would just melt them down to make a profit. (Illegally or not)
The Coin after the 2015 P.....it's the one with the strike though error in the center of the Shield.....You said it sold for $39.99 on eBay but you never said what year or mint it was from???
I haven’t even been looking at any shield cents, I simply toss them away into the checked pile. Maybe now I will actually look at them. Thanks for the advice.
Oh no, never assume there is no value in any coin. I look at all coins and look for errors and such.

I have a 2016-D shield penny that looks like the reverse of that 2015 penny except mine covers pretty much the whole back of the penny.

Totally agree! Hell, I think the Mint should strike them in Copper again.
I agree, they are soooooo boring! Lincoln was never a President that I cared much for as far as true history is concerned, but the memorial reverse design was so much better looking than the shield design.
Its much easier to distinguish between the new ones and the old ones

I got penny rolls from the bank today. I told her I look for old ones and things, so she brought me 5.00 in 2019 pennies. I was a little dissatisfied until I watched a few videos.

Your videos are interesting however up here in Canada we don’t get many USA coins in our change. I like your vids on Canadian coins.
I just started watching your videos. Very interesting. I just went through some pennies I had. And I've found two coins of interest. One is a 1983 zinc penny no mint mark with a line that goes from the bottom of Lincoln through the T in liberty up to Lincoln's head. I looked through a magnifier and its raised. The other is a 1988 it looks like a double strike on the left side on the obverse going from the bottom of Lincoln around to the T in trust then it stops. Any info on these coins?

Why do doubled does exist on newer coins but not RPM’s past 1990? Is there an article link somewhere I can learn about this?
They switched the way that they add the mint mark....they used to do it by hand (I think)...now it's in with the mold, so you can only get machine doubling with newer mint marks....don't quote me

I have a few 2019 w Lincoln cent that came with mint sets that have a mint error. Do I just send them in to PCGS?
I have a 2019 Denver mint penny with a misplaced mint mark that is placed directly to the right of the date so is this not a known variety?

I've found several machine doubled coins, especially with newer quarters. I found one that quadrupled. And as a beginner I was really excited to have found it. Love your videos!
I have bottles of 2010 p with die cracks in them, when I say bottles I say bottles I got like 10 bottles of them.they come from The rim 2 letters and some even go further

For machine doubled coins, does it effect the obverse and reverse every time it happens? I would like to know more about machine doubling on moderns and how they are valued in the coin community. Would it be worth it to keep one for increased value in later years like true double die pennies as the 1955?

Thanks BlueRidge. Great video. As i have told you before, I love the Shield reverses, not so much for the design but because of the errors that are to be found on these new cents. I search through some nearly every day and have found some pretty cool error coins in them. If anyone has them and doesn't like them I'll be glad to take them off your hands.
