thnx
made me wanna buy a g85
This is absolutely beautiful, well done!
Awesome, very cinematic!
Really nice shots, beautiful work. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks a lot :)
Amazing work, the colour you captured are impressive
Thanks a lot! There is so much potential with these cameras :)
How do you get the wide angle where it fills the whole screen with ur g85?
Lovely work, really Cinematic!
Thanks a lot!
Awesome video quality. I could not see subtitles option. So cannot justifies which shot is by which camera. Are these graded or virgin.
Looks great!
Thanks!
what is the size of the video? why it's too large?
Does the a6500 overheat in 4k, if so how many minutes into the recording does it heat up?
It only happened to me once on a hot day. And that was after about an hour of almost continuous shooting. But since I live in a country with a relatively cold climate (The Netherlands), I might not be the best reference.
This is an excellent comparison. The Sony certainly has a more cinematic look but, all things considered, the G85 gives it a very good run. All told the limiting factor for me is budget, with the Sony commanding a $500- $800 premium vs the G85 with the 12-60mm lens, here in Australia. On the flip-side, I now know a few of the settings to use when working with the G85 to achieve some nice cinematic looks, so thank you very much!
Thanks a lot! It just takes (generally) a little more effort, but you can get amazing results with the G85. So when on a budget it's a great camera to develop your skills as a filmmaker.
Filmconvert doesn't have a camera profile for the GX85 cinelike D. Which Panasonic profile did you use to match?
I think I used the standard Rec. 709 setting.
MovingPixels sorry, I meant which source camera did you choose? There are other Panasonic options in FilmConvert like the GH4, but the not the G85/GX85.
That's what I meant too. I probably used the Default mode, Profile: Standard sRGB. Also the Cinelike D profile of the GH4 is very similar to the G85.
Ah sorry, didn't see it listed on the site. Don't actually have FilmConvert yet. Thank you!
No problem! :)
amazing!
Have you tried them both for stills photography? In this case what advice would you give me if you have.
I haven't tried them much for stills. But if I have to choose one for stills it would be the Sony a6500, because of the bigger sensor.
Beautiful.
Thanks!
Amazing color grading!
Thanks a lot!
what settings did you use on film convert?
I used the default settings without film grain.
I love watching your videos so much! I noticed that in your newer videos, you stopped using the Gh4 and switched to the G80/G85. Did you switch cameras?
Thanks a lot man! I switched from the gh4 to the g80 a year ago and recently I'm mostly using my Sony a6500. Mainly because I'm practicing shooting with a gimbal and the autofocus of the a6500 works great for that. It really means a lot you love my videos! What camera do you use?
@@KaspervanDijk Hey! Sorry for the late response, but I've been using the gh4 to shoot footage and I've been binge watching on all of your videos :) When I was trying to grade footage whether it was in Cine-like d or V-log L, I noticed that especially when grading, the gh4 footage gets a lot of color banding and noise. However, when looking at your shots (which are amazingly breathtaking) there are no problems like that whatsoever. Have you ever experienced these problems when you used to have the gh4? Also, would you say its easier to grade sony's footage over Panasonic's?
I never use log profiles on 8-bit footage, because of these issues. In my experience you shouldn't get flatter than cinelike D and only grade it in a subtle way. I feel you can push the footage of the a6500 further, because of the bigger sensor. But generally I think it's best to shoot with a relatively neutral color profile that isn't too flat when shooting in 8-bit.
Lord have mercy! So much beauty
Haha thanks! 😅
Are you using Osiris and Filmconvert together for all these shots?
Yes I did, but they are not all the same luts. I used M31, KDX and Vision 6.
I have 3 questions: 1. Can you tell me which one is used in what scene? 2. What settings did you use for the G85? Which one of the both cameras is easier to color grade?
If you turn on the subtitles you can see where each camera is used. G85 settings are Cinelike D: 0, -5, -5, -5. I'm more used to grade Panasonic's Cinelike D, but I think sony a6500 looks better straight out of the camera.
You really just used the E 35 mm F1,8 OSS on the Sony? Those shots are so sharp and the grading is perfect
I think I fell in love with this video 😍
Thanks! It means a lot! 😁
Gread vid. I have a big dilemma of G85 and a6500 and don't know which one should I buy. Which cam do you prefer and why? Thank you
Recently i'm using a6500 more because I love the image quality and auto-focus. On the other hand G85 has better battery life, stabilization, overall ergonomics and is much more practical for professional work (doesn't overheat). So it really comes down to what is most important to you: Image quality vs practicality.
After a lot of research on both cameras, I decided to go for the G85. It's a starter camera for me, and the price included a kit lens that most reviews said was fantastic. Everything I needed for a price that was still under the 6500 , body only
how did you get the underwater shot?
In an aquarium ;)
which better in quality-price? I don't know too much about cameras but i would like a good kit, that allows me to record in 4k and have good performance in photography. Is the g80/85 my camera?
Depends on your needs. Do you need good video auto focus and low light performance? Go for a6500. Do you need great image stabilization, battery life, ergonomics? Go for g80.
Beautiful 😎❤️
Thanks :)
How do you take underwater shots?
I didn't. It was shot in an aquarium. 😄
Strange, which one was the Sony A6300?
Turn on subtitles to see which camera is used by each shot. There is no a6300 footage.
Okay thanks
How did you reduce glare on the animals that were through glass??? It was beautiful! Polarizers? Or something else
Thanks! I didn't use any filters. It was simply a matter of finding an angle with the least reflections in the window.
@@KaspervanDijk must've been the color grade + good angle that were making my eye balls think there was something reducing the glare. Phenomenal stuff man
😎👍
Nice, I think I might get a Panasonic Lumix G85
Και εγώ 😀
nice
Great Video! I would like to see wich one is sony and Panasonic, thanks.
Thanks! You can turn on the subtitles to see which is which ;)
@@KaspervanDijk grazie
What about the gx85? I want to take some photos and videos but I'm a beginner😂
I have no experiences with the gx85, but I think the G85 is a great camera to start with as a beginner.
@@KaspervanDijk Thank you😃
@@Severullienn Thank you so much!
@@Severullienn I haven't bought this camera yet😂
g85 would be ideal for me, but im also a photographer so ill go with a6300(its just like 6500 just no ibis) and buy a gimbal with it as well =smooth video when i want it to be smooth and a great photography device (eyefocus etc) g80 is great for videowork tho for that price its a steal
Yeah honestly I regret that I sold my g80. It's such a great camera for handheld video work.
@@KaspervanDijk Why did you sell it? For that price wold you still choose it over any new camera in the market nowadays for video purposes?
