I became a convert to 0w-40 oils a few years back using Mannol lubricants with a high ester content.

I know it seems counterintuitive, but hold the oil can with the spout at the top when you pour. You’ll get a nice smooth controllable stream with no chugging or splashing.

Motul 8100 Power 5w40 is the best for my audi 2.0 TFSI ,Software upgrade to 380hp, i buyed Motul Power because is somewhere between racing/street, you can use it also daily and it have API SP specification, you can easily drive 12.000km without problems. Motul 300v is more for track...not so good for city/daily driving

Good luck. Hope to see positive results with the 5w30. Hey! What were the oil pressures when hitting those right turns? You said it doesnt drop all that much, so the baffle must being doing its job, aye?

Oil pressure seems to stay around 60 psi hot. The oil drip is still there but it’s not not as bad and it recovers quickly after. I’m basically going off of the data I’ve seen on someone else reporting.

My Corolla consumes some oil when 5w30 is in it. But none when it's 15w40. Thicker "W" number is better.

My car does the same EW10 ENGINE CONSUMES oil with 5W40, none with 15W40... I believe that when the engine warms up, it seals itself up, so the 15W doesnt leak past partes and burn Like when its colder?!

Yeah but when the fans are running with the aftermarket oil cooler I would see the temps go down. That’s how I would cool the car down faster on the track.. I’m sure the hood vent helps too

nice video Phelps, got a question regarding the oil level, so I filled 5.3 quarts as per the manual, when i check the oil level at warm(i turned on for 2 minutes and shut off and checked 5 minutes later) like you said, the lower side is not at full , but I already filled 5.3 quarts so I'm really not sure should I add more oil, on the other hand when I check the oil level cold ( sat overnight) the oil level is full, this is extremely confusing seriously :/ what do you recommend? thanks a lot.

So I don't know off the top of my head what Subaru's bearing clearances are for their motor.
But some 5w30's like Redline 5w30
I go for oils that have the best High Temp High Shear in my daily drivers and race cars.
The rest is mute point, except for maybe NOACK for long drives.

    Redline 5w30
Sunoco Full Synthetic ($3.80 a quart, 3.5 HTHS rating)

Simple curiosity. I do have a greddy drain plug on my FA20 because for the price i think it can help on the long term. Could the plug false the result from the oil sample? Since normaly what the plug catch is suppose to be in the oil.

Dude if your goal is to track your car all the time, then install a Fueltech ecu and go have fun. The OEM ecu will only give you headache. You will be able to log everything on your car, from suspensions, air temp, fuel pressure, oil pressure, g-force, traction control, etc etc... Good luck
