Mobalytics has like 4 sorc builds in S tier. But yeah, Maxroll did change the sorc tiers. Most sorc builds got buffed so I think this will be consistent
It doesnt have to turn out that good. It easily did Pit 101 in less than 3 minutes and tormented bosses on PTR without the new buffs. That is a measure of a working build. You want a fun build, more than the build that pushes high pits.
Honestly, seeing each class having at least 1 build featured in S tier is amazing, we need more of this. I usually dont care too much about seasonal themes, what keeps me engaged with the game is variety, so this is great news!
I mean...that will always be the case based on the simple fact that they can wear 4 weapons while other classes can use only 1 or 2. Thats 2-3 additional stat sticks, 2-3 additional legendary powers etc. Blizz can nerf skill multipliers all they want but Barb will always be above every other class as long as that 4 weapon mechanic exists.
My first and best love: Chain Lightning/Lightning Spear. I am so grateful to getto play it as the last thing before the expansion. The only thing I like more is Crackling Energy, but I have pretty much given up hope on that.
I played a chain lightning sorcerer in season 4, which was my first season. It was really fun but I really felt limited after pits 60. Will be playing the same build again in season 5 just to check the difference!
Devs need to uncap Wither…. It’s not over powered.. And with it capped it makes Shadow Wave unplayable (the only PvP viable Necro build at the top level)
Rip HS, it was so fun while it lasted. With no monster XP cap, leveling builds don't mean as much, you're going to be 100 in a few hours or so slamming your head on the keyboard. They've nerfed leveling to basically D3 levels now, just a means to an end.
Taking bets that within 48 hours of season 5 launch Barbs will once again be in a tier of their own at SS tier while Sorcs fall to B tier at best. This has been the case every...single...season, even when everyone and their mother said that Barbs got Nerfed and Sorcs got buffed lol. Barbs entire 4 weapon mechanic makes them pretty much immune to nerfs. They will always be stronger than every other class due to that simple fact alone.
With the buffs to all the uniques, is there a way you can make the unique tier list link to builds with that item? It'd make it easier to figure out what to do with that random 4 GA unique that drops while farming!
With how wolves works now and how fast the CD can be and how hard you can make them hit Compaion Druid for bossing is at least A tier. The wolves do so much dmg. Along with the vines and crows doing pretty good dmg too.

Half of the new uniques will be bugged, and they will do mid season balance changes. It's fucking annoying and ridiculous for a big studio to be this bad.
As a Druid main, I have zero interest in any of these builds. Werewolf is in such a shit place. Needed Druid buffs have been ignored for two seasons. The class needs a focused overhaul. I’ve played every season and I’m probably sitting this one out.
If you can find some way to cc with flurry like frost imbue or something, and benefit from umbral and just spam dashing flurry it will surely be the ultimate helltide build
I usually use that first week to level to 100 then by the time I’m done with that the builds are pretty set. Still some changes occur though. And I may be busier than some people

To be fair, Barbs were S++ for 4 seasons straight. Braindead Barbs don't want to give other classes even a single season at the top, even though I still think braindead Barb is still going to worm its way to the top due to Blizzard's ineptitude.
I just don't get the logic behind making a 1 or 2 builds the strongest for each class, and making all other build variations weak in comparison. These 1 or 2 builds become the meta, everyone and their third cousin plays the meta builds, and there is no diversity. It's all the same, it's boring. I put together what I feel are creative and fun builds with careful theorycrafting and what looks good on paper turns out to be mediocre compared to the meta. All that being said, I like Diablo 4 a lot, and wish the developers would approach things differently to encourage player creativity. Nerfing things to hell doesn't help that creativity.

I'm wondering what keeps Double Swing Twister in A tier? I see a key passive nerf, but not really any buffs. Maybe uniques? Also, how did Blight end up in C tier?? I understood it looses about half its damage, but it was super strong before, wasn't it? Rogue is funny, tankiest class with the most S-tier builds 😂
It was really strong but got nerfed, while everything else was mostly buffed thus outpacing it. DoT builds for Necro are borked this season. Going back to my tried and true underrated Blood Lance and making a Bone Spirit Necro for the first time for shiggles.

will leave my little opinion, in S tier for leveling druid - wind shear, that is not present in tierlist for some unknown reason. Boulder gonna be S tier for speeds (on amulet added huge movement speed) with shred moving for mobility like it was in S3, and for end game if all bugs fixed for all classes (in another reality :) ) Landslide is a winner over all builds.
Wind shear is decent if you have the affixes for it ahead of time, but on a fresh start as a first character before you have things like Moonrise? Nah.
I have had a Druid build that I always loved based around spamming cool down abilities. It requires Nature's fury, Symbiotic. It was very tanky but the main problem I had was damage. I am wondering Rakanoth's Wake would help.

Giving the other classes a pittance of damage scaling from main stat is a dinky bandage of a "fix." They need to just break down and give the other classes at least 1 other item slot. Nothing beats minion necro with a sacrilegious soul. It automates basically everything but using your golem as soon as it is up. I also second that using a controller would probably help a lot.
Proof game is getting too easy from one season to the next is S tier keeps getting bigger. A well balanced game doesn't mean all classes need an S build. S should be for broken builds that are unbalanced. Too many S builds translates to unbalance in difficulty.
As high as their damage potential is now, this'll be the first season I won't be playing rogue. No amount of power is worth spending most of your playtime setting caltrops and popping potions you don't need.
I usually feel the maxroll team seem skewed towards rogue. They AOE is often low, their clearspeed often low, their QoL is low. In many leagues, barb and necro have often couchsurfed the speed runs and endgame with mediochre gear and maxroll is like ROGUE IS TWICE AS GOOD ATLEAST!111. With ten times the effort spent on the rogue gear is was still weak defensively, lower clear speed, less QoL and only slightly better dps. Maxroll just really loves rogues and are bad at being impartial. This needs improvement generally speaking.
You are full of it if you think Necro's clearspeed is faster than a Rogue. Rogue's have been way more consistent than Necro every season. Actual lunacy.

Not sure what's the point of updating the tier list with outdated guides? Chain Lightning is S tier with the last update from May for example.
It gives people a rough idea of what to look out for. They can then bookmark the build's page and watch for it's update.

I want to play Rogue this season. I have been rotating through 1 class per season, and I started Rogue pre-season at launch.

It seems that rapid fire rogue will not buff or nerf much in the future. It is the baseline of the rogue

DoTs for Necros are absolutely fucked this season. Not saying you shouldn't give it a try, but it will absolutely not feel as good as S4.
Proof game is getting too easy from one season to the next is S tier keeps getting bigger. A well balanced game doesn't mean all classes need an S build. S should be for broken builds that are unbalanced. Too many S builds translates to unbalance in difficulty.
No Hydra sorc build? You need another sorc creator or have him make a Hydra build 😢.
As high as their damage potential is now, this'll be the first season I won't be playing rogue. No amount of power is worth spending most of your playtime setting caltrops and popping potions you don't need.
I can FINALLY run a chain lightning Sorc and be at high A or S tier? Yes!

I usually feel the maxroll team seem skewed towards rogue. They AOE is often low, their clearspeed often low, their QoL is low. In many leagues, barb and necro have often couchsurfed the speed runs and endgame with mediochre gear and maxroll is like ROGUE IS TWICE AS GOOD ATLEAST!111. With ten times the effort spent on the rogue gear is was still weak defensively, lower clear speed, less QoL and only slightly better dps. Maxroll just really loves rogues and are bad at being impartial. This needs improvement generally speaking.
You are full of it if you think Necro's clearspeed is faster than a Rogue. Rogue's have been way more consistent than Necro every season. Actual lunacy.
Can’t believe ppl bitched and moaned into barb being gutted when it wasn’t even the highest clearing class last season. Why not buff other classes
