FIRST KNOWN LAUNCH ! Paragliding the Black Mountains in North Carolina

I've been wanting to launch from the tallest mountain range in the East USA and finally had the chance to do so. I'm not sure if I'm the first to ever launch off of it in a paraglider, but I will tell everyone I am until the day someone proves me differently!
The first attempt I looked at the wrong meteo reports and the wind was too strong, the second time I solo'd the hike and was able to launch. There were three guys who were hiking that I met and they helped me set up the first go round, I crashed, and they helped me untangle my stuff (THANKS!!). They continued their journey and I was able to launch soon after. Fun 45 minute flight with dynamic air and some 6 m/s thermals in the mix. Wind was coming from the NW at around 10 mph with strong gust. Super dynamic air but an incredible flight.
