It’s one of the Homunculus circle dots the others have it’s just oddly dead center in his forehead. But I think that’s metaphorical for Pride never dies because everyone will always know who/what he really is
My original thought that Selim was kept around by the author as a way to bring back Father or if Pride will remerge to take Father's place if a sequel was ever made. But now I realize that Selim was meant to show that Father and the other homunculi could have been better. We got a big look at that with Greed, but this takes it to a whole new level. I like the idea of not entirely knowing what will happen with Selim. And I hope no sequel is ever made.
You're right. Another way I see Selim still being alive is that he was Pride for a long time, but the essence of humankind is in its pride, so that trait will never die among us, thus Selim being alive.
i love that the souls of millions of dead people are still screaming on the inside of this lovely little boy, and one of his occupants is the crimson alchemist himself.. god only knows
Wrath died doing what he loved the most and his wife knew he was a homonculus all along and loved him anyways and was of his own choosing, you can honestly imagine over all those years when he said he still had that devotion to "his wife" it was chilling, honestly the "Bradley family", and even if its just an illusion of a family, still had a pretty happy ending... Pride(Selim) still considered their family dynamic a thing, you saw that in his head when he was fighting Edward...
@@5thdimensionoptiks963 I don’t think Mrs. Bradley knew Wrath was a Homunculus, or that any of them were Homunculi. It wasn’t until the end where Wrath was dead and Pride was reborn as Selim that she found out they weren’t fully human.
15years later A shadow figure stand over central on a building roof. Selim: I regained my memories and my shadows. The sins I committed shall forever stain my hands, but I shall atone. Evildoers beware, For the Shadow the lethal protector watches over central.
The fact that 2003!Selim is just an innocent little kid makes it so much worse than his “death” in Brotherhood. His dad (Pride) literally chokes him to death just because he thought he was doing a good thing saving his dad’s skull (2003 homunculi’s weakness is their human remains) from the fire. 😢
Whenever it comes to characters like Selim, it typically depends on if he's pressured into being the exact monster he was or if they leave him to be raised into a fine man.
Selim truly does deserves this he might have been born with nothing but cruelty and raised as a weapon but a mother can change everything for a young boy good bad evil or pure evil
Honestly, in Pride's case, it really is nature vs nurture. When Pride was raised by a psychopath with no regard for life, he turned out the same. When he was raised by a kind and caring individual, he turned out the same. Honestly, for so long, I was much like him as he was from the beginning. I took on a likeable personality in public to achieve a certain goal. But that was merely a facade. Underneath, I was apathetic, egotistical, psychopathic, and violent. As long as I got my way, the ends justified the means. I met my best friend in university. She's the one who got through to me. She felt like the mother I never had. And I finally wanted to protect something. I started taking after her. I've now made friends, treated people as equals, stopped gambling with my life, and haven't raised a hand to another living thing in almost 10 years. It truly is amazing what can happen when you treat a monster with compassion.
more like he was never actually proud of himself and he truly wanted his fathers approval and he deep down loved his mother because she was the only person in his life that took pride in him for who he was even if it was just an act. Even if he has his memories I think he would still choose to stay acting like his fake persona and adopting it as who he really is because he loves his mother
Ah - “I will see to it that never happens” I wonder if the officer got the threat underneath While she was affirming she would not let her son grow up corrupt She could also be saying, “I will never let you have my son, I will protect him” Moms are a force to be feared when their children are threatened
Y Liang Now that you’ve mentioned it, I believe _it is exciting._ FMAB wasn’t a bad series at all. I wish they could’ve continued the story like most mainstream anime. Well, who knows if it’ll ever come back. The show already has a huge fan base, new possibilities are always exciting I guess.
@@UmbraStarWolf Ed only destroyed Pride's Philosopher's Stone, and with it, much of Pride's powers. That alone wouldn't explain Pride's loss of memory, as when Marcoh did the same thing to Envy, though it appears to be quite traumatic to the homunculus. More likely, Pride detested being in servitude to Father and desired to live as a human, and facing perceived eminent death, came to accept his repressed feelings. I'd venture a guess that Pride had some genuine kindness for a long time, with the sadistic bit being a facade. Even in his newfound life, I'm quite certain there is plenty of pride to be had in saving a life, or doing other good deeds. Pride need not be evil to achieve his namesake. 😉
I hope Hiromu Arakawa will make a sequel about this. FMA:B had a beautiful ending and i wish there was more. I also want to see Ed, Al, Roy and Ling's journey in the west and east.
Someone please do a seperate anime of the new Selim's journey!!! Come on! The kid is like a Naruto! Being watched over because he is dangerous and stuff. Then he finds out and... AT LEAST A FANFICTION WOULD SUFFICE :((((
I am happy that at least one of them had a happy ending. I was always thinking “if only they were born as a normal person” and for pride that happened…after he was already made once but that’s not the point I’m happy he got a happy ending. But question, is he immortal? Or is this seldom and Selina and pride are completely different? I like to beilive they’re the same thing. Idk why this all powerful guy with the body of a child is amazing. But if it’s slims body, then that’s not the case yk?
I love, love, love how sober Mrs. Bradley is in that last shot. She doesn’t try to deny the course of action, because she knows a Pride II would be disastrous. She is intead denying the possibility it would actually happen.
The only thing that keeps me from rating FMAB as my number one anime is that it left me wanting more, and not in a bad way. The conclusion was fantastic, but the ending was left so open ended that I couldn't help but want to see more beyond that. However, as my number one favorite show, Code Geass, can attest, sometimes you really should just leave these things be (Damn you Lelouch of the Resurrection)
it's some kind of marking that all of the previous Homunculi shared, as for why. I don't know, could be just an unexplained blemish(?) from their creation.
There's a little epilog scene in the manga where Grumman wonders with concern about the circle on Selim's forehead and pokes it. Selim goes from smiling to having a serious face, saying, "Take your hand off me, human, or I'll tell Mother you're the one who blew up the Führer's train." while Grumman has a horrified expression
Another ironic death Not only did Pride get defeated after throwing away said pride and trying to possess a human, and now he gets to live an entire life as a human in his own right.
My interpretation/head cannon of this is when Ed defeated Pride, the baby Ed pulled out was created using the power of Pride's stone and a single soul (presumably the dominant personality) that had been trapped within that stone. Now, the souls that made up Pride's stone were supposed to be the most prideful, but given a second chance that soul could be reformed. Look at Greed. I don't think this Selim could ever develop powers, as I think he's just a single soul now. Maybe he could learn Alchemy? I'm not sure how "human" he is.
In the scene where Pride is defeated, fearing his death he remembers his fake family facade. Deep down he longed for that life. And is sweet he got that at the end. Even if the govt will check on him forever and won't doubt on putting a bullet in his head if the changes back.
Then father will be reborn somehow since pride opened the truth and pride is technically him since it’s his pride and he takes prides body or something and starts over 😂
I was expecting that little comic strip where Pride snapped back to being himself and threatened the old man with revealing to Mrs. Bradley the part the old man played in King Bradley's death.
Lookiing back I kind of wish Salim was wrath and Bradley remained pride like in 2003. Both sets fit the motif. and much like 2003 Wrath, Selim is the only one who lives in the end.
I think it’s because he’s no longer “Pride.” Pride was reborn into his true body, Selim, without any souls, memories, and possibly even without his powers. So his eye color stays black because he no longer has any of his Homunculus Perks.
Ed with Kimblee's help punches selim so hard he breaks what pride is turning him into a fetus Selim: grows up to be normal, the only surviving of the sins
Someone said that selim is like naruto in the comments and they have to watch over selim if it is like naruto i hope he has a form or just better alchemy
Ohhhhh wow, that is actually pretty spot on. while Selim (Naruto) might not be a threat, he might end up becoming Homunculi(Nine Tails) again. To prevent that, have people watch him. I don't think many people know that Selim is a homunculi though.
Did Ms Bradley ever find out about her husband's true identity? And is Pride still... Pride? Or is he just a normal human / homunculus with no powers or memories? Much to think about...
It's unclear if Mrs Bradley found out about her husband's identity, but I'm guessing probably not, based on how it sounds. As for Pride, he has no memories, and since he seems to age now, probably is a lot more limited in his powers now too.
So does pride still have his powers? He was turned into a human but his philosopher stone wasn’t destroyed so maybe pride will regain them later? Actually since he still has his philosopher stone doesn’t that make him immortal?
Bradley also had a Philosopher's Stone, but he was not immortal, probably owing to the single soul contained within. Pride is probably no different now.
@@TheSilverwing999 Bradley still had his reflexes and the ultimate eye, despite only having one soul. So I think Pride still has his shadows (he is composed of them after all), he just can’t regenerate.

Probably not true. When pride died all those souls got freed. It's just him in there
@@5thdimensionoptiks963 I don’t think Mrs. Bradley knew Wrath was a Homunculus, or that any of them were Homunculi. It wasn’t until the end where Wrath was dead and Pride was reborn as Selim that she found out they weren’t fully human.

Anime batman without a dark story?
This scene made my heart melt it was so cute
ngl i want another season with selim as the main character this time as he battles with his true self and pride
This is way better than what happened in the original fma....
Selim isn't pride but king Bradley is pride and when king Bradley was fighting mustang selim came in the room and king Bradley kills him
@@turniphead5243 ya fma is way darker than fmab that's why I like fmab better
The fact that 2003!Selim is just an innocent little kid makes it so much worse than his “death” in Brotherhood. His dad (Pride) literally chokes him to death just because he thought he was doing a good thing saving his dad’s skull (2003 homunculi’s weakness is their human remains) from the fire. 😢
Both have their merits. Lust is done so much better in FMA 2003 and the early arcs are handled better.

Kirby 64 Bad Ending!
True
Whenever it comes to characters like Selim, it typically depends on if he's pressured into being the exact monster he was or if they leave him to be raised into a fine man.
General Grunman sure was slimey, but I'm totally with him on this one. This kid sure needs eyes on him!
Selim truly does deserves this he might have been born with nothing but cruelty and raised as a weapon but a mother can change everything for a young boy good bad evil or pure evil
I'd like to see a spin off focusing on a grown up Elisha Hughes and a grown up Selim teaming up together as military officers.
He's so cute tho :c
Ah - “I will see to it that never happens”
I wonder if the officer got the threat underneath
While she was affirming she would not let her son grow up corrupt
She could also be saying, “I will never let you have my son, I will protect him”

New possibilities are always exciting?
Like pride going insane homunculus mode over again, building his homunculus army and doing what’s left.
I’m late but Edward literally destroyed Pride and extracted Selim out of him
@@UmbraStarWolf
Ed only destroyed Pride's Philosopher's Stone, and with it, much of Pride's powers.
Grumman: hmm what does this button do *touches selims forehead
Selim: *turns evil* i will kill you
I hope Hiromu Arakawa will make a sequel about this.

20 years later, Selim Bradley, the homunculus defender of Amestris.
This scene just makes me wonder what it would be like if greed survived and went to help ling lead xing…
Selim’s body grown real quickly.
*_MY HEARTTTTTTT_*
The only thing that keeps me from rating FMAB as my number one anime is that it left me wanting more, and not in a bad way. The conclusion was fantastic, but the ending was left so open ended that I couldn't help but want to see more beyond that. However, as my number one favorite show, Code Geass, can attest, sometimes you really should just leave these things be (Damn you Lelouch of the Resurrection)
Plot twist: Kimblee has possessed selim body
I got a question, Whats that dot on Selim's forehead?
All of the Homunculi have them.
it's some kind of marking that all of the previous Homunculi shared, as for why. I don't know, could be just an unexplained blemish(?) from their creation.
@@lilacocto9103 isnt it pride's insignia? Since pride's weakest state has that mark
Next story is gonna be about Selim’s growth. That’ll be the day.
Plot twist: His last soul is Kimbly.
I've always wondered if this is where the writers of adventure time got the idea for Sweet P/The Lich.
That would be interesting
I would love to see a sequel about them fixing the country and Selim growing up with everyone judging him.
He has a Cheerio on his forehead
There's a little epilog scene in the manga where Grumman wonders with concern about the circle on Selim's forehead and pokes it. Selim goes from smiling to having a serious face, saying, "Take your hand off me, human, or I'll tell Mother you're the one who blew up the Führer's train." while Grumman has a horrified expression
Another ironic death
Not only did Pride get defeated after throwing away said pride and trying to possess a human, and now he gets to live an entire life as a human in his own right.
1:48 wtf why is this so cute 😊
listen I’m happy we got this but like my mans greed could of lived too could of ruled xing with ling big sad
It's crazy because pride does not care about life like that with how he brutally cuts people up
My interpretation/head cannon of this is when Ed defeated Pride, the baby Ed pulled out was created using the power of Pride's stone and a single soul (presumably the dominant personality) that had been trapped within that stone.
I wonder if Mrs Bradley will die when silem is still young and he tries to bring her back with alchemy
I can’t remember if Selim ended as a human or kept his essence as homunculus.
me neither
whats that dot in Salim's head?
Lookiing back I kind of wish Salim was wrath and Bradley remained pride like in 2003. Both sets fit the motif. and much like 2003 Wrath, Selim is the only one who lives in the end.
Why is pride and selim eyes different and hair
Kartoon Madness/ KKOMIC'S I don’t see a difference
I though I was the only one who saw the difference! Selim’s eyes are black or dark grey and Prides eyes are a dark purplish blue
@@arieldennis1999 he got those purple eyes after he ate gluttony
@@jasmintea8825 No, there are actually a few scenes prior where he has a purple tint to his eyes prior to being outed as a homunculus.
I think it’s because he’s no longer “Pride.” Pride was reborn into his true body, Selim, without any souls, memories, and possibly even without his powers. So his eye color stays black because he no longer has any of his Homunculus Perks.
Wasn't Pride attached to the human body of Selim? Cause all other homonculi died once their stone was destroyed.
He looks like astroboy

Did Ms Bradley ever find out about her husband's true identity? And is Pride still... Pride? Or is he just a normal human / homunculus with no powers or memories? Much to think about...
It's unclear if Mrs Bradley found out about her husband's identity, but I'm guessing probably not, based on how it sounds. As for Pride, he has no memories, and since he seems to age now, probably is a lot more limited in his powers now too.
Question: What does it mean the mark in is his forehead?

Question 2: Is this 'version' of Selim going to be an adult??
@@turniphead5243 /.. not you..
You would think so, but pride seems to grow just like a human would. Maybe he is more akin to Bradley now than the hommunculi
@@TheSilverwing999 Bradley still had his reflexes and the ultimate eye, despite only having one soul. So I think Pride still has his shadows (he is composed of them after all), he just can’t regenerate.
