- I already did the video on driveability of a cammed silverado but since i got the stall installed it has been alot better. New videos will be coming out with the stall so stay tuned.

The torque converter stall speed is a representation of when the converter starts to lock up. Lower horsepower will be close to the advertised number. Higher the torque the higher the flash point. With all of that slippage, creates lot of heat. 2 things to make drivable on daily basis. Need low rear end gears to get the engine in the “sweet spot” to lock the converter under normal driving conditions. Big atf cooler due to the slippage.

Same setup as you pretty much. 07.5 NNBS with the 3200 install. Daily driver through winter here in South Dakota. Couldn't be happier

Stock stall is a 1800rpm on the 6l80 in the truck. Nice video though. I am having a 5.3 built with tsp stage 2 high lift 111lsa and a circle d 26-2800 also. Should be fun

What is the actual gas mileage of your cammed Silverado?
You can gear the rear end to trick your stall a little. Will move more with lower rpm's and save fuel. Watch for barking tires tho.
Wheels and tires, mini tubs, tinted windows, side pipes if they are legal, Zoomies like Mad Maxes car... have fun, you will find it never stops.
1st mistake was shorty headers 3000 rpm and up. Now you need to match it all up. 3000 converter, a higher rear gear ratio you still have lock up overdrive. 1st thru 3rd at least run off the converter. Highway should be ok still. But ur cam is drinking deep. You coulda got a cam that had lumpy idle and then smoothes right out. Maaaan you are chugging at highway speeds ... definately change the rear gears and tou can do bracket drag racing.

what cam do you have? and whats your average mpg? and im thinking about getting a Texas Speed Dual Spring Cam Package with 228R, .600"/.600" 112 LSA, will that need a stall and tune?

Albert Chaidez I know I should have gone with longtubes. But shorties were easy to install and aren't that much worse than longtubes.
I've read that shorties net a minimal improvement while LT's are good for 20+ with a tune. Why not order a set of speed engineering headers?

The cost difference is minimal
just install a b&m shift kit would be much easier than having to rebuild the trans every here and there bc the way you're shifting

Great video! I used to you your truck around Huntsville sometimes back in the day. I have a gmc camm truck with no stall also( biggest mistake) should of went stall then cam. I hate the bogging, and switching to neutral so the truck can camm and not have bogging on stop light on drive. I finally decided to buy the stall from circle D 3200 and can’t wait to install it.

I live north of Houston on 69 and am wondering where you're getting your inspections done. My Surburban will be 25 years old next year and i'm being told that I have to maintain all emissions equipment, even though I don't have to be emissions tested.
Myron Rio look on the offer up App or Craigslist, there's always people on there that will pass your inspection.
Register it as an antique to avoid the bs... i used to do state inspections..i would just slap a sticker on those

nice set up! i have an 01 5.3 eith the stage 3 btr cam the 3200 circle d stall with built tranny and rear diff. stall helps so much! that tru cool 40k is nice too! My temps dropped 20+ degress.
Well i bought the sticker from my buddy and yes i need to put a tranny cooler on bad. I drove it easy today and it was 78 out and the transmission was around 175-185 the whole time. Thanks and i bet your truck is a bad bishhhhh

Slim Reaper ive read about people having that issue on there truck but i still use my stock 2 piece driveshaft.
did you get a stock driveshaft replaced with another one or did you upgrade it? was it high speed balanced?

I don’t understand, you got the cam for the sound not for what it’s designed for? You keep saying “the way it sounds”? Cam, heads, intake manifold, injectors, stall and rear end ALL work together. If you’re just doing it cause it sounds good you’re just burning your money.

actually you're way wrong. just go buy one. i bought an aluminum one, and my truck handles better on a windy day now
Covers add weight making mpg's worse and make no difference in aero. The cab itself cuts through the air creating a vacuum in the bed...

There's something wrong then, idk what cam he has unless it's over 228 then it might affect your mpg but i haven't seen anyone else that get 7.3
get it tuned, not just a off the shelf tune either but actually adjust the fuel map to your engine, 7mpg is not right and you could be damaging your engine. Well 7mpg is normal if you floor it everywhere;)
I’m getting about 9mpg on a 5.3 228 tsp cam damn 200 miles a tank, shit sucks, I was used to 300+ a tank.

hayden hale when they pulled them off to do the lifters they said they would clean them up a bit. So they may be slightly worked. They aren't doing to much hp wise, but they are 243's that are slightly worked. So Idk what u would call that

@@james10739 What he means is that an automatic puts the truck in the powerband when it wants to and you have to wait for it to get there. With a manual you can make the drivetrain do whatever you want to and shift as aggressively as something with a shift kit. It might not shift as fast as something with a slushbox but the point is that you get the best of both worlds with a stick, aggressive and economy driving. It's why manuals get better gas mileage than automatics. And you can absolutely crush someone with an automatic that doesn't know what they're doing. High stall converters are a bandaid solution for getting a clutch pedal.
