You discovered one of my favorite roads that I ride as it is one of the closest dirt roads from where I live east of Sacramento. FYI, there is a whole bunch of cool asphalt and dirt you can hook into from there.
That is awesome you live in a great area! I got to mess around the convergence area and then I went out mosquito ridge road and got to play on another dirt road a bit by I believe Big Tree Grove were the patch of Sequoias are. Just a flat out amazing area to explore. I sure would like to make another trip over maybe we can meet up and you can show me around. Thanks for checking out one of the coolest roads I've ridden in the country.
@@AdventureGlide you found another great place to play. Mosquito Ridge road was closed for a couple of years due to wash outs. It is so nice that it is open again and the dirt loop out by Big Trees grove is a nice loop. I would be interested in connecting when you are heading this way
Oh Man! Did I Ever! Someday I will right at the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Just minutes away from the best Dirt and Paved roads in the country. Until then I will just have to live through Videos of my weekend getaways. LOL Thanks for checking it out.
Well my neck of the woods is Northeastern Nevada. But Shirttail Canyon is a great Ride. When are you planning to ride it? I would be against making a trip that direction.
@@AdventureGlide Sounds good, I am going to be looking for good spots to ride the AT as well. I have a few ideas but I need to start off slow. I rode dirt bikes in my younger days but I know a big ADV bike is a different animal. Off hand I know about a couple spots that might be kinda fun in the Sierra Nevadas and not too daunting for a big bike.

Hey, I am in your neck of the woods and I have a '24 Africa Twin coming soon. I've done Shirttail Canyon in my truck but not on a bike

Congrats no the New Africa Twin!
@@AdventureGlide Ah, I am in the Sacramento area. I need to put some crash bars on my AT when I get it, but I will give you a shout!
@DrGonzo-vq2zi sounds good. I would love to cruise over and come check out any other rides in your area also.

What's the texture of these gravel roads. Are they more packed that Jarbridge or about the same?
It was a little more packed in places. It wasn’t freshly bladed. Hahahahaha 🤣
It was also earlier in the year!
