Great sound! Are you planning to do a second mic setup in the helmet as well? And how did you attach the mic on the licence plate? On a cold shoe with 3m tape or something? ❤
@LiveTheRide-d3y Yeah I understand. I usually like these 'raw' sound videos more anyway. But for myself, I want to have the option to create 'talking video's' besides exhaust sounds. Thanks for the tip - as I expected 3m tape with magnets are suffice!
If it's entertaining and you have what to talk about, sure why not? Also expect there will be a lot of vibration, so be sure to keep the setup sturdy enough.
@LiveTheRide-d3y Haha I'm not sure yet. Usually not that big of a talker, but showing people the city and surroundings and talking a bit about the culture, buildings etc might be nice. I'll see. And thanks for the tip. Might try to work out a kind of extra security, like a strap or something just to not finish the ride without a mic haha!
Where did you put the microphone? There's a little bit of buzzing in the sound, not sure if that's from the mic rubbing on something or coming from the bike itself?
I placed a microphone between the exhaust pipes on the license plate holder. I also noticed this, this sound is formed as a result of resonance between the two pipes at certain RPMs, which is what the microphone picks up.
@@LiveTheRide-d3y I do! Definitely helps to have the extra range. I have 1 mic mounted inside my helmet and the other in the tail section of my motorcycle. Where did you mount your microphone?
@@TheMotoRidin it’s always good to have a backup audio, because sometimes bluetooth fails and signal interrupts. I spent about 1.5 months struggling to find a sweet spot for mic on my motorcycle, right now it is mounted between pipes and stoplight. And you know what, every mm of changing the position can lead to different sound 😅
Do you use the mic paired via bluetooth to a camera or are you using the mic to record on its own and match the footage up later? Got mine linked to a action 5 pro at -12 and the clipping i get from the exhaust is terrible, this is placed under my seat in a microfibre towel. Any tips?
Hello, I record both on camera via bluetooth and on mic standalone and then sync sound in post. I got bad experience placing mic under the seat with a foam cushion - too muffled. I found the sweet spot for mic between exhaust pipes, where it isn’t exposed to wind that much. What bike do you have? Stock exhaust or not?
@ hey, thanks for replying. I’ve got an MT09/FZ09 with a black widow system, no baffle. It’s pretty loud, alright on low revs but as soon as you wind the throttle on, all I get is crackling and clipping. I’ve only got the transmitter, no receiver.
Don't be shy about leaving a comment if you see something I could improve on. Your opinion matters! 😄
Where have you positioned the mic ....

Amazing sound quality but wind noise seems to be my nemesis
I have a Tascan DR 05 placed in my rucksack so much noise
@@benwen5 Yeah, I actually spent over a month trying to find the best place for the microphone so that the wind wouldn't block out the exhaust sound

Hey, thank you! Actually, I don't want to distract people with voice. I used 3m tape and magnetic mounting plate from osmo camera.

Actually a good idea to talk some history of the city, I didn’t think from this perspective yet.

Clean video, clean audio, very nice! I have the same setup :)
It is really great setup, do you use 32 bit audio from microphone?
