- Auburn, California is known as the “Endurance Capital of the World.” It’s where the historic Western States Endurance Run finishes and is home to Canyons Endurance Runs by UTMB and many other incredible endurance events. In the first of our Come Run the World series, Heather Jackson explores the history of the Western States Trail and discovers some of the people and places that help Auburn live up to its legacy.
This is my town and we have an amazing paradise here ❤ I worked at Awful Annie’s in its older location as a teenager
Before I ever started running here, and then learned about the Western States, I realized my mom (we grew up in Washington), actually won a Tevas back in the early 80s. Now I’m working toward running the Western States ❤
