- Howdy! Hop on board with me on this 2006 Suzuki DRZ400 motorcycle for a nice Dual Sport ride across a local trail here in Southern California... Del Sur Ridge. This is an easy loop but I haven't been out in a very long time and if you watched the first video feature on this bike...
• Buying a Cheap Suzuki ...
You'll see how much work went into getting it this far!
There are some fun GoPro angles that should help keep this interesting... I'm new at motorcycle videos so let me know what works and doesn't... any suggestions?
This is my first trip using the @onXOffroad app and I'm pretty thrilled the more I learn how to use it. I'm putting together my next Jeep trip to Death Valley with it right now.
I also finally put together an Amazon parts list of the items that worked on the refresh of this bike... here it its:

Thanks so much for watching and if you feel like giving a like... THANKS!

I ride on gravel logging roads a lot and the first time was scary front tire sliding all over, I dropped the pressure the other day to 17 PSI front and rear and it was way better and the handling was very good. You mentioned the tire pressure and you are right it will help the handling tremendously.
Thanks for sharing!
Love the DRZ!!! Such a fun bike and so easy to maintain. Enjoyed the video!
Thanks! 👍 I appreciate the comment and support! And agree, DRZ is good.
even with the terrible tires, if you air down to like 12-14psi F/16-18psi R you can get a lot more grip offroad.
Jason I have to say, I started watching you 8 years ago (16 at the time) dreaming about a JKU I remember the flow master video like it was yesterday. Fast forward over the last 4 years and you inspired me to buy a 18’ jku a 17’ ram 1500 and now looking for an enduro lol one day we will meet on the trails!! Have fun friend!
WOW! I never think about things like that over time interacting with you here... congrats on the good taste in fun and thanks so much for being an active part in it here!!!
Love OnX!! The offline feature is a solid bonus as well. I have an OnX tab and a google maps tab open at all times
Now you tell me... 😂I'm looking around a bunch now... lots to learn still.
@@AutoEdits If you log in on a desktop/laptop there is an offline feature. You frame out an area (like I have a bunch in Sequoia) and it uploads it to the app so you can run the app with GPS and not need cell service.
Maxxis Desert IT and some boots sir :)
Looks like a blast. The sound on this video was great, no wind noise at all.
Hey thanks, it was! I experimented by taping my mic inside the helmet... worked pretty good.
Hi Jason. Influence from your channel is getting to me again. I'm already collecting parts to fit 35" tires and 4.56 gears and what not, now you got me thinking about 2 wheels. It's been ages since I was on a bike, kinda miss it....
Hope that tropical storm didn't hit you too hard. Take care.
I'm not even sorry about that influence... LOL!!! When it comes to the bike... I embrace my old and slow approach to enjoying it.
Love this!
Thanks!
Motocross Jason👍🏻. Such a different perspective from you usual off-road content….love it 👊🏻👊🏻
Thanks 👍I appreciate that a bunch!!!
Looks like you had a great time, and some cooler weather! I love OnX. My issue is that I often forget to enable the breadcrumb feature. I have been all over the place here, but I have only actually tracked some of them. Which makes it a bit more work to find new places.
Thanks for the tip! I'm still having a slow go of it learning the app but like the little I do know.
Right in my backyard! 👍🏼
Cool... I like it up here 👍
Howdy Jason! Hope you are staying safe from the hurricane that came through, hopefully you and the family and the house are all good
Thank you! It was fine were I live... lots of rain but not much wind so we did well.
@@AutoEdits glad to hear that dude!!
Damn it, Jason.
Now I want another bike.
Sorry, not sorry... 🤣
👍👍
What levers are those?
what do you mean by flat spot in the carb?
Good question... as you twist the throttle, there is normally a somewhat linear power increase throughout the travel. What I'm describing is a bit of a "flat spot" in that increase in power right in the middle of the RPM range and then the power feels normal again. I attribute this problem on my bike to a faulty accelerator pump diaphragm from the cheap kit I bought. Eventually I'll buy a higher quality part and fix the carb.
I just moved from Flagstaff, AZ to Palmdale / Lancaster looking for trails. Know of any trails in this area? Or is there a road connecting Palmdale to Santa Clarita?
There are tons of trails around here. Get an app like what I used in this video or google them 👍
Have you set the sag?
I haven't done that... just been riding it.
Any chance that Tahoe is for sale yet?
I have been thinking about that the last couple of days but have no idea what it's worth. Plus, it is so practical.
@@AutoEdits I guess it depends on what you would keep on it. Bumper, winch etc. I'm thinking you have a lot more than 15k into it with the axle and gearing upgrades and all. This seems like more of a private conversation though. Let me figure out how to DM you
