Good morning everyone! Lot's of comments lately that I'm gonna die eating Dollar Tree foods. For what it's worth I do NOT eat 98% of the foods you see in the processed foods videos. I take a couple bites to do the video and that's it! Every once in a while I will find something that isn't terribly unhealthy and delicious that I will eat. Other than on those rare occasions the food is tossed after the taste test.
A man hits his one hundredth birthday, and goes to the doctor. The doctor asks him "Do you have a lot of sex" "No still a virgin" "do you drink or do drugs?" "no, never touched the stuff" "do you exercise? " "Yup every day" Then the man asks the doctor id he will live to be 200. The doctor responds "why would you want to?"
If my doctor asks me if I'm a virgin and if I drink, her 3rd question better be what movie we're going to go see because there's no turning back with that kind of a lead in.
People complaining about nutrition aren't considering that this is a decent sized meal for multiple people under 5 bucks, sometimes the struggle is real.
Most people complain about nutrition usually eat other crap that are under the impression is healthier just because it wasnt bought for a buck at dollar tree
@@tonymiami5480 No, calories are first. Kids being hungry is a real issue, and lettuce isn't going to fill them. Eggs are fantastic for protein, and sausage has fat, which actually has value. This is a meal win for those who are struggling. Lettuce is a waste of money.
I admit that I don't usually shop at Dollar Tree but I went today and I fell in love! I spent $19.33 and I brought home so much fantastic stuff! Rice, lentils, Ramen noodles, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, baking soda, aluminum foil, and tons of other stuff. I'm sold and I owe it to you. Thank you!

@@omgidkwhatimdoing9626 Pretty much the only way to truly eat cheap is to have STORAGE and lots of it. You see you have to buy cheap which means you have to buy a sufficient quantity to make it to the next sale. I just bought 80 pounds of idaho potato's 99c for a 10 pound bag. The only reason I did not buy more is I don't think the 2 of us can eat more than 80 pounds in the 4-5 month lifespan I can expect from them :-) Got boneless skinless chicken for $1.29 a pound. bought 30 pounds (all they had) divided sealed and frozen. (around here that is insane meat is very pricey here) divided it up. vac sealed and frozen. for me $4 for a meal for 2 is too expensive. :-)
Man I lived off Dollar Tree and Big Lots when I was in college. Especially Dollar tree when I was low on cash. Pick up a pack of hotdogs, cook one, chop it up and add it to my ramen.
So, what makes it so entertaining (for me at least) is learning about what in the foods a lot of us eat, i used to eat a lot of frozen foods cause i'm lazy but i'd rather work longer and harder for a healthier meal. What's also so great is Larry himself, i love his sense of humor. However, we all find other things entertaining and this might just not be the content for you.

This meal really reminds me of my childhood, those times in which you had no money or foodstamps so you either gather up change and dollar bills to go get these things at the Dollar Tree down the street or you scrounge up the items by looking through the fridge at the end of the month when all the microwave food and leftovers are scarce. I think thats why I love your videos so much, they just make me think of when I wasn't worried about anything as a kid
Cool. Sausage gravy is way easier than I thought. I won't drag my feet the next time my husband asks for it or I get a good deal on pork sausage at the grocery store. I'm a cage-free Amish egg, buttermilk biscuits from scratch, local whole milk kinda girl...but I can appreciate the need to cut corners even when flavor is affected sometimes. Edit - Husband heard me watching this video & asked for this...so 40 minutes later (had to make homemade biscuits to go with it)...we're enjoying a delicious meal. Thanks!
That's funny, my wife requested the same meal last night. I went to Aldi's. Cost me $4.40 for the same 4 ingredients. But i ended up with a full gallon of milk and a few more biscuits. Thanks for the vid
Gavin Anderson My only problem with Aldi is finding something I love but they only have it temporarily. Everything I love gets discontinued or is seasonal.

And thats my fill of crazy conspiracy theory for the year.
It is kind of a weird store. Good prices but only one brand to choose from usually. When I went there I was looking for a French or western type dressing and they didn't have it. The most basic dressing out there.

As a Canadian, I didn’t know how to make biscuits and gravy, until now, I LOVE biscuits and gravy from when my buddy’s dads American girlfriend made us some and let me tell you it’s my favourite breakfast aside from country fried steak
+TheWolfePit ok that makes a lot more sense. I usually scramble the eggs at the end, moving the rest of the dish out of the way in the wok so they don't get overcooked and once scrambled just mix it all together.
You're likely paying for a lot more "engineering" and packaging of ready-made product per ounce than you are when you buy separate ingredients and apply your own recipe..I think you're onto something here...something half-way between "What are we eating?" and a segment where you cook from scratch...might deserve a new title? Maybe "What are we making?". Great job on this vid !
Lmao man. The perfect solution to healthy eating. Dollar tree meat, dairy, and eggs. This is why you people are carrying more fat than needed, have aches and pains, are in meds, and are overall shit.
@@CsykKrit The biscuit thing really annoys me though, because biscuit translates as twice baked in French, hence why in Britain, a biscuit is a hard, crunchy snack. As far as I'm aware, you don't bake scones twice unless you want some dry nastiness. I am aware that it's slightly irrational for me to get wound up about it, but there we go.
just started watching yur videos the dollar store either loves you or hates you yur video's are great really opened my eyes and you are actually truly helping people subscriber
Well yeah. It may be a discount store, but they DO have expiration dates on perishable items. And a lot of times, the stuff you buy generic is made by the same factory that makes the name brand. (Not for you, for your subscribers)
Just try it man you'll get better at it every time. I started cooking every day when I was 19 only knowing how to cook eggs and simple things like that. Now I'm 26 and cook everyday and try new recipes and throw things together all the time. It doesnt scare me at all anymore man if you love food you'll love cooking
Here in sweden, just the eggs costs $2,50. And the milk around $1,50 plus we don't even have sausage as the americans have. Nor anything like those biscuits.
My secret ingredient in sausage gravy is a splash of juice from the greek pepper jar. Sooo good and really gives it a better flavor. You all should try it next time. We love it and so does anyone else who eats the biscuits and gravy I make.
for some reason I got unsubbed from this awesome channel and just realized as I haven't watched your vids in about a month (been busy) Subbed again and am now binge watching all the great vids I missed :D
I found all these ingredients at my local DT and made it for breakfast and it was actually really good, all four products were normal in regards to ingredients. I ended up making multiple batches of the gravy because it was such a good value.
actually, they typically are processed in the same facility that the higher brands are processed they typically separate it to that brand due to it not having a enough lean and such kinda like how 90/10 ground beef cost more than 80/20
That sausage gravy looked damn good! Personally I won't eat a canned biscuit unless I have to, if I don't want to take the time to make my own, or don't have any frozen ones I'll use toast. I have found that Food Lion and Wal-Mart brand frozen biscuits look and taste just like homemade. I try to keep a bag of them in my freezer most all the time. It's really hard to find decent sausage anymore for making sausage gravy as like you said, it's all too lean.
Dude, I know how to cook, I spent 25 years of my life working as the cook in a family owned restaurant. Our food was homemade and didn't come out of a box or bag, we made everything there on the premises. We sold about three hundred homemade biscuits every morning through breakfast and I made the biscuits. They weren't made from a mix either. They were made using self rising flour, shortening, and buttermilk. Believe me when I say, *I know how to make biscuits!* I don't know what kind of biscuits you make but all the ones I've ever made take longer than five minutes. Hell, it's takes almost that long just to get your shortening cut into your flour. =) There are just times when people just don't feel like preparing something from scratch, and there is no harm in substituting something frozen or canned from time to time.
I have been using plain ground beef for making biscuits and gravy lately. All of the breakfast sausages I have tried have contained spices I didn't particularly care for. On top of salt and a ton of black pepper I will typically add cumin and red pepper to taste. I like my gravy to be a little on the spicy side though.
Everyone keeps saying “death meal” and “I’d rather go the extra .50c” NOT EVERYONE CAN GO THE EXTRA 50c WHEN IT’S ON EVERY ITEM and clearly dollar tree wouldn’t sell stuff if it really would harm you. This was a nice video by a (seems to be) very nice and wholesome man- great vid😄🍽
Enjoyed the video...just had a brand new Dollar Tree open up (used to be a CVS) just down the road from me a week or so ago; will have to check it out one day. I can go to Wal-Mart and get a dozen eggs for 88 cents, get a 26 or 30oz (can't remember exact size) bag of Ore-Ida shredded hashbrowns for ~$2.44, and a 14ct pkg of Swaggerty's sausage links for $2.58. I don't know if Swaggerty's is a local brand or not, but it's about 50-60 cents cheaper than the bigger name stuff and tastes just as good. On the weekends I have my kids (1 boy, 1 girl), I cook up half a dozen eggs (scrambled), half the bag of hashbrowns, and half the sausage links each morning and divide it into thirds (my daughter doesn't eat sausage, so my son get 4 links and I take 3), so I'm able to get 2 breakfasts for 3 people (my kids are 13 and 16, so they aren't shy about eating) for a total of ~$6. I love biscuits and gravy, but sadly my kids don't (yet). Thanks for the sausage gravy recipe...I'll have to give it a try some time soon.
I absolutely love your content. Once I get paid again I'll happily be a Patreon supporter. You're a fantastic person with your commentary and I literally cannot wait for your newest video when they always hit. Cheers mate
That looks pretty good. We don't have the same sort of 'biscuits' in the UK. I guess they are kind of like scones but without the sultanas. A pinch of nutmeg makes a really earthy gravy though. I use it when I make a white sauce (gravy).
Andrew G this isn’t that unhealthy their farmed eggs from local farms , the biscuits have the same ingredients as many of the brands in Walmart etc the milk is cheaper but the same as Walmart or cvs brand and the sausage is the same as Walmart just a cheaper smaller cut of meat that if you buy bulk is more expensive soooooo yeah
yeah in lower end places like where you live, since the standard of living is lower, so is the cost of living. Westernized countries, because there's so much our lifestyles are founded upon, that means we have a lot more to work for to keep ourselves up.
I wish we had stores like that in South Africa. We only have the major Supermarkets which are all so expensive and dont sell things like your ready ground spiced sausage meat or ready to be baked biscuits or things like that.
Excellent, I am going to look for this and give it a try. Not because I have to but because I want to. I have been looking for an inexpensive sausage and I too think Jimmy Deans is over priced. Thanks again!
frozen buttermilk biscuits are best, also I use a cup of heavy whipping cream and a dash of powered chicken base. you can also substitute half and half instead of heavy whipping cream. but there is no way I could bring myself to add Worcestershire in my gravy. I'll save that for steaks.
Not sure why everyone’s freaking out lol all the shit you bought you can find at Walmart....brand and all. This is a typical country/southern meal! Hearty and filling. Meant to keep you full while working.
SweetIvory 1203 that’s hot ibdeginous to southern people only. That’s just a country thing. Has to do with being in the country, you usually had your own farm animals like cows, horses, pigs and what not. You’d cook a lot of your foods in the lard(melted fat of animals) or butter. Because no ones going to spend $5 on a bottle of olive oil at the store when you can just aloe your own butter/lard at home for free. So basically, you’ll see a lot more country folk use butter instead of oil to cook/season things.

This is why you people are carrying more fat than needed, have aches and pains, are in meds, and are overall shit.
xxFairestxx do you consume diary and eggs?
Being british i was quite intrigued when i saw biscuit in a breakfast recipe I guess our idea of what a biscuit is differs on both ends of the pond XD
Yeah, just a bit. Those are scones to you folks. Being a southerner I would call them biscuits. From scratch is the best way to go IMO.
It's just some fat digestives
Things aren't the same everywhere, imagine that 🤔
CsykKrit I’m from the U.K. and we call then scones
(Not for you, for your subscribers)
perfect for college students, and looks really good thanks!
Beverlyyy_ 😂😂😂 aww
Beverlyyy_ sad man. just sad.
Add some ramen 👌👌👌
This is a terrific way to set yourself for a 10 year struggle to combat your obesity
Kenneth Schefer You're saying this as if he's gunna eat it every fucking morning
This nigga made dollar store food look good this man is living in 3045
I can imagine you having a motorcycle review "What are we riding?" or movie reviews "What are we watching?"
“The eggs surprisingly taste like eggs!” Like tf🤣
TheWolfePit: Dollar Tree!
Ashens: Pound Land!
Im a 17 year old lad, i dont cook but this is my favorite channel... i dont get it.
God You should really learn
God don't you play video games or love cars or bikes or anything else?
misamisatv Yes... cars. but i love food more than life itself
God I totally recommend watching honeykki, cook kafemaru, and The Cooking Bear channel! 😀💟
Looks like a prison tray
Karl lowry but it's a plate
goteem
Little Old Bessie old country buffet plate
You'll be surprised at actual prison food. This shit is gourmet
😂😂😂
Try Aldi's if there is one in your area! You will be surprised.
Aldi s is pretty good with price
I fucking love the way he describes the dollar store, “my personal playground”
Jesus. Only 6 years ago and the prices even on name brands is nothing compared to todays grocery prices. Insane to think about
a lot of people in Texas and Florida would love to have that breakfast :(
below me we are florida we also like grits
*(tHaT raciSt to uS tExAnS)*
Here in sweden, just the eggs costs $2,50. And the milk around $1,50 plus we don't even have sausage as the americans have. Nor anything like those biscuits.
I just made this recipe exact ingredients and all and its super delicious! Thank you for this great idea wolfie
Thank you!
I like your background music. It makes me feel like I’m watching the “How It’s Made” of cooking channels.
That sausage doesn't look right bro. Don't eat it
Golden Spatian
Too late
It looks fine.
Golden Spatian it isn’t any different than what you get at McDonalds
Golden Spatian it’s the same shit at the other stores dumb ass 😂🤦🏽♂️
@@user-ul5gi9yw9t it wasn't canned lol
My secret ingredient in sausage gravy is a splash of juice from the greek pepper jar. Sooo good and really gives it a better flavor. You all should try it next time. We love it and so does anyone else who eats the biscuits and gravy I make.
I will try it !
for some reason I got unsubbed from this awesome channel and just realized as I haven't watched your vids in about a month (been busy) Subbed again and am now binge watching all the great vids I missed :D
Thanks!
I love what you do!!! Teaching people to make decent food on a very tight budget is the work of a complete savior.
I found all these ingredients at my local DT and made it for breakfast and it was actually really good, all four products were normal in regards to ingredients. I ended up making multiple batches of the gravy because it was such a good value.
I love your videos they bring me back to early 2000s
I always think you are going to die buying from the Dollar Tree though? ☠️☠️☠️
P G going to die anyway, so doesn't matter what anyone eats.
craig tiffany Almost anything can kill you nowadays. Even if you eat healthy you don't know what is sprayed and pumped into the food before we get it.
Yeah but it'll be a cheap death.
P G however, they're all the SAME brand name ingredients you'd buy at any other grocery store. 😴
actually, they typically are processed in the same facility that the higher brands are processed they typically separate it to that brand due to it not having a enough lean and such kinda like how 90/10 ground beef cost more than 80/20
I think i recognized that particular Dollar tree store, it's located on Peppertree plaza Sample rd and 441 Margate Florida; I'm i right?☺
Damnnnn I live close to that one ........wow
Southern dollar trees are SO much better than the ones up north and the Midwest. Unfair lol
It's really hard to find decent sausage anymore for making sausage gravy as like you said, it's all too lean.
dude making homemade biscuits takes 5 minutes and is easy ... learn to cook for better living .......
Believe me when I say, *I know how to make biscuits!*
I don't know what kind of biscuits you make but all the ones I've ever made take longer than five minutes. Hell, it's takes almost that long just to get your shortening cut into your flour. =)
There are just times when people just don't feel like preparing something from scratch, and there is no harm in substituting something frozen or canned from time to time.
Wayne Hodge i
I have been using plain ground beef for making biscuits and gravy lately. All of the breakfast sausages I have tried have contained spices I didn't particularly care for. On top of salt and a ton of black pepper I will typically add cumin and red pepper to taste. I like my gravy to be a little on the spicy side though.
Wayne Hodge : I agree. Most of the sausage has too much salt! I don't need all that salt! Ewwww.
Where I live $1.98 for 16 oz of farmland sausage, .95 for half gallon of milk, .46 for 10 count of great value biscuits, .48 for dozen of eggs.
$3.87
Haha!
You win ! 👍
Damn what am I doing with my life
Black Pepper is to you what Cayenne is to Chef John! Lol. Perfect video to watch while eating some homefries and eggs!
Jerry Boynton III : I love cayenne! And habanero Tabasco sauce. I need something hotter than habanero. Not hot enough for me anymore :I
Family Breakfast?
More like Family Feud once said family realizes that this is now their life.
I appreciate that you pronounced the ‘Shire’ the right way and not ‘SHYER’
0:12 there's a hair on that egg. that's nasty..
Will Yoon I don't see it
I see it lol ew
Where?!
I love Panic! At the Disco "the rain," Tyler says. Josh nods slowly. "It's like..." Tyler pauses, searching for the word. "Crisper," Josh says.
Anonymous Panacea if hair doesn't affect you then how do people die from eating it?
Like a horrible car crash, I can't stop watching these... I hope you work out like an athlete to get rid of all the calories. xD
Country breakfast classic, my grandmother use to make this for me alot when i was a child. I still enjoy it to this day
I absolutely love your content. Once I get paid again I'll happily be a Patreon supporter. You're a fantastic person with your commentary and I literally cannot wait for your newest video when they always hit. Cheers mate
The frozen eclairs are surprisingly good my wife loves them
I love how genuine this guy feels in his videos.
I remember being so broke that the dollar tree/store was my only choice...Thank you sooo much for making this videos.
Why is it eveytime I watch one of your vids I get hungry, am I the only one lol?
my mouth is sooo watery!!!
@7:31 "Whether it's right or wrong, she's always right" - Words of Wisdom 😆
lol, $50 in 2022.
This has become one of my favorite UA-cam channels out there. Found it after trying those canned tamales myself.
"A couple years ago i learned my opinon didnt matter and if im right and my wifes wrong shes right because shes always right" i love your enthusasm😂😂
Not the hero we want , but the hero we need.
That looks pretty good.
We don't have the same sort of 'biscuits' in the UK. I guess they are kind of like scones but without the sultanas.
A pinch of nutmeg makes a really earthy gravy though. I use it when I make a white sauce (gravy).
Seeing this for the first time five years later. AMAZING!
What the hell is that sausage?
A sausage without its wrapping. Sounds like minced meat to me, but eh
Sarah-Ann Hardacre lmfaoo fr
Horse meat
Just joking
Ethan Voelker 😂
This legit screams death. If this is an everyday breakfast, you will die early
Die at 89 instead of 99? Great.
Sileight PorscheFam we fr broke all the time out here man
Looks delicious.Great job.
Your channel is entertaining as shit and you're a funny guy.
I could watch your videos all day.
I love unexpected uploads!
I'd have happily kicked in the extra buck for some taters... There's thrift, and then there's cruelty.
Maxwelhse yesss! Now I'm starving lol
ALL the ladies come from miles around for my Dollar Tree taters... Take notes, Wolfe!
He was making biscuits and gravy, not hash browns =p
...which was a critical error on his part.
I don't care how cheap is this breakfast...you can't buy a price on your health
Andrew G
To be fair, when you're desperate, this is what some people can only afford
Eternia true. The dollar saved me from not having food. I made beans and sausage for $2.00
Andrew G this isn’t that unhealthy their farmed eggs from local farms , the biscuits have the same ingredients as many of the brands in Walmart etc the milk is cheaper but the same as Walmart or cvs brand and the sausage is the same as Walmart just a cheaper smaller cut of meat that if you buy bulk is more expensive soooooo yeah
Your missing the point. You don't need or want milk. You don't need or want biscuits. What even is this shit??
@@rehenhawksmusic yo lay off the dope, bro. no one knows what the fuck you're talkin about
You must have a REALLY good dollar tree where you’re at!
5:45 cracks his biscuit like an egg 🍳 hahaha
Here in Philippines you can buy 10breakfast for 4$ just do math 20pesos each.
yeah in lower end places like where you live, since the standard of living is lower, so is the cost of living. Westernized countries, because there's so much our lifestyles are founded upon, that means we have a lot more to work for to keep ourselves up.
Pesos are used in mexico too simular names
In Switzerland, you couldn't even buy a pack of gum for $4.
YOU do the math!!
@Erik Satie
that's because they were colonized by spain
Does your wife know you use dollar tree ingredients?
She buys them!
TheWolfePit oof
ANYONE ELSE HEAR THE CRICKET WHEN HE TALKS!? IT'S KILLING ME.
I wish we had stores like that in South Africa. We only have the major Supermarkets which are all so expensive and dont sell things like your ready ground spiced sausage meat or ready to be baked biscuits or things like that.
That looks absolutely disgusting. If you call this food you are on a one way ticket to a cardiac arrest
Excellent, I am going to look for this and give it a try. Not because I have to but because I want to. I have been looking for an inexpensive sausage and I too think Jimmy Deans is over priced. Thanks again!
I like the cheap Jamestown sausage but I found the green label Gunnoes sausage VERY TASTY!
"surprise surprise surprise!" 😂
At Aldi they have a Gallon of Vitamin d milk for 69 cents
GoatNamedMeche
Haha 69
GoatNamedMeche not in orlando 2 99 a gallon at aldi here
GoatNamedMeche What country and be honest.
Sandy Beaches
Aldi’s is in North America
glandularmass
I never said only North America
frozen buttermilk biscuits are best, also I use a cup of heavy whipping cream and a dash of powered chicken base. you can also substitute half and half instead of heavy whipping cream. but there is no way I could bring myself to add Worcestershire in my gravy. I'll save that for steaks.
Not sure why everyone’s freaking out lol all the shit you bought you can find at Walmart....brand and all.
This is a typical country/southern meal! Hearty and filling. Meant to keep you full while working.
Question: do people from the south really cook their eggs in butter? I saw it in the video and was like WOW
