@@cephelos1098the problem is you don't really struggle with exploration *after* you've killed golem. the only thing you'd realistically explore for is truffle worms, since the content that's left if you left the (decently hard) optional bosses for last would be fishron, empress, cultists, pillars, and moonlord himself. none of these really require "exploration" unless you never finished exploring both sides of your map.
One thing a friend of mine uses this for is simply leaving this in his vanity slots and tossing it on whenever he has downtime during an event or something. Gets him back in the fight much faster.
I like to consider it the "I didn't hear no Bell! 🔔 💯" Accessory since it brings you back into the fight more often when you need to recover Whenever the Nurse dies, my homies all have this thing in their vanity for the very situation you described
Not necessarily, it wont save you from getting beat around which is the main issue at that point Itd help you with environmental stuff like lava, silt, fall damage, poison darts, etc Along with helping you recover from a fight *after* its already over
It's still not quite as useful as accessories which improve defense. Unless you play on master mode, armor and defense buffs from accessories alone is enough to at least take a few hits from the majority of common damage sources in pre-hardmode, which is enough time to switch to your main set, deal with them using a weapon, or let a passive summon handle it for you without needing to shift your focus from mining.
Shiny Stone is still nice to have in an vanity accessory slot so you can temporarily swap it in in-between fights for a quick burst of health unaffected by Potion Sickness. It doesn't even add any visuals to your character, so it won't ruin your fashion either.
In the adventure map I'm making, the Shiny Stone is one of the items the player gets in it, and it's obtained very early on. I found that it's a really effective way to make sure the player gets back to full health in between levels.
I always keep the shiny stone in one of the vanity slots and use it to regen after leaving combat so I can get back to it sooner, finding it most useful for jumping into and out of battle with pillars without waiting forever or splurging on the nurse.
Re-logic could easily make the shiny stone much stronger by making the standing still buffs half as effective when moving insted of completly removing them .
exactly, if it was even HALF as effective you'd want to have it for every fight after Golem just to make sure you could heal while Potion Sickness is active
one thing i found using dragonlens is that when using shiny stone and crimson armor it will regen at the same rate no matter how much health you have, this is unique because other regen buffs with crimson armor still only increase by 1 at a max rate, meanwhile with shiny stone and crimson armor it has no acceleration max and no number max (with 100hp it takes x time with 10000000hp it takes same time about. and another thing i found wiht this is that crimson armor multiplies/buffs shiny stone in some way.
Realistically, its best use is during the lunar events because of its sequential structure. A lot of people have already mentioned as well to put it in vanity for quick swapping, but I advise to place it next to a non-movement accessory so you can still dodge when needed. Just defeated Cultist and you're low on health? Plop that stone in and you'll be back in shape, ready for the pillars. Struggling to kill swarms? you can dip in, kill some until you're low health, then just get out of the pillar's range to heal with your shiny stone, and repeat until pillar is gone. Impending doom approaches but you're still sore and not ready? Moon Lord comes slow enough to give you time to get to your arena and rest with your shiny stone.
You probably shouldn't look at this accessory from the perspective of "how good against bosses?" considering there's a lot more to Terraria than boss fights.

Honestly even if you ignore the awful point of progression you obtain it at, it's still just bad game design. Terraria's combat system is entirely movement based, so having something that only activates when you stand still will inevitably be really inconvenient to use. Unless you use one of the very few items that allow parrying, the only way to consistently avoid damage is to dodge, which means that in order to activate the effect you'll have to get hit, so you'll end up taking more damage then you heal anyway.
