Lego ww2 Battle of Hürtgen

Поділитися
Вставка
  • Опубліковано 20 жов 2010
  • Winterbottom and his Platoon are arriving in Hürtgen unaware of the german hideout.
    This is not about the battle of the Hütgen Forest, its about the nearby town named Hütrgen which the forest is named after. It however is also part of the Siegfriedline campaign.

    I remember watching these as a kid when I was only 11 years old. At the age of nearly 22 now, it feels unreal to think this was such a long time ago. I used to play with Lego sets all the time, creating battle scenes from the North African campaign using the custom made guns and helmets from Brickarms, which was my treat as a kid to get my hands on. Now I own real rifles and pistols from the time, shooting them for fun, occasionally with these uniforms on. To say you were foundational in my childhood would be an understatement. I love coming back to see these old videos, even though there hasn't been a new one in so long. All the best to you.

      That gave me chills man. I used to sit on the couch watching these videos with my best friend almost every day during elementary school. Now I’m almost 19 and just bought my first matching K98k rifle, and I still come back to pay respects to the animators sparked my passion all those years ago.
      Edit: and of course ole’ JS inspired me to do my own animations as well. I gotta give credit for that.

      I feel you man, I watched these videos as a kid and I always wanted to create my own battle scene like this one, unfortunately I never had enough legos to make a town or even a tank. But I also got the brickarms weapons and helmets for my minifigs. In fact I think I still have them to this day. It's hard to believe that this video is 11 years old.

      Anthony Tilleman Having some Nazis turn good happened a lot since most Nazi soldiers were at least 16 and older and most of them hated being in war and hated the other Nazis that would obey orders that would disgust others like killing an innocent.

    So increase fpc, lamps and you need a place to build your scene - houses, street or whatever and you make 5 seconds today, then leave everything untouched and come back tomorrow to make new 5-7 seconds... If you need to break your street and to build it from the beggining every day before shooting your vid - then it's a hell!

  • @legocrazymotion
    @legocrazymotion 11 років тому +13

    Just checked your channel - watched "the battle". Your animation is pretty good. Yiu just need to increase a little fps in your video. In 1 second should be at least 10, better 12, best of all 15 frames per second. Your camera is not shaking, animation is pretty good - so I don't see the reason why you can't shoot longer videos!
    Increase fps + close all windows and use lamps for lightning - helps to avoid light jumping. And you need a place to build your backstage for a long time.

    I think this was WW1, that's when the US became friends with the Nazis, one nazi asked, "do you want a cigar?" Said the German in perfect English, a US soldier went to get a cigar, he said "sure....". Believe it or not, the nazi gave the Captain a cigar, then they both started playing soccer, 3 Nazis, 3 US soldiers, started playing soccer. The game ended and they had to start fighting again. This was a true story.

They both have 35 inches of armor, the m3 is only 3.9 tons heavier in a power/weight ratio, the m5 has 100 miles for range and the m3 has 75 miles only a small difference. Also, they both have the same amount of crew members, and the m5 is only 2.9 tons less than the m3. That will serve you right for criticizing this youtuber's amazing recreation of Hürtgen. Get over it man.

    I once read from a fictionous book based on WW from the library. The soldier said: ''When they were alive, they looked like Germans. When they were dead, they looked just like us.''

      This was after the visitor in the story asked why they would not follow the original and the most obvious plan of killing all Germans.

      Yeah... You are him, right? Or at least one of his relatives or something like that? And yeah, he really needs a lesson on personal privacy. One time he told me where he lived. Serious. The entire thing was there, the town, block number, house number and stuff.

      +Ridog_ Where did i go? I have worked as a graphic designer some years now, and since 11 Weeks i do my millitary service in one of the thougest units of the swiss army (Panzergrenadier) so give me a break.
      Brickfilming was great but nowadays i dont have 13 weeks of vacation anymore and the few free time i have, i spend with my family, friends and gf.
      I give you a advice, go make some creative stuff yourself and stop demanding so much from others while you lay back.

    • @JSLegoMaster
      @JSLegoMaster  8 років тому +10

      +Nathan Peterson Yeah thats true, when you get adult and got a job, do millitary service you unfortanley dont have enaugh time to make Brickfilms.
      But i am very happy with the films i have made and especially that they have made many people start with brickfilming themselves and some of them are even as good as mines XD

    There were indeed many people who helped out enemies and vice versa. Many didn't believe in the war entirely, but believed in helping out who they could. So with everything that is bad, there is always some good.

    Do you plan on making more videos ever again? Also what did you film this video with (camera), where dis you find the sound effects, what program did you use to edit in the muzzle flashes because i use gimp, and where did you find the band of brothers and saving private ryan lines from in the battle of rammel. Did you just record them directly from the movie or download them somewhere, it would be greatly appreciated if you told me :D
