On April 1st, 1945, the US military launched an assault on Okinawa, codenamed Operation Iceberg. More than 180,000 US soldiers were deployed on the southern coast of the island. Although Japanese resistance was initially sparse, the ensuing battle for the island would last 82 days, killing an estimated 12,000 American soldiers, more than 100,000 Japanese, and roughly 50,000 Okinawan civilians. The battle was the bloodiest of the Pacific campaign, and subsequently became nicknamed the Typhoon of Steel. On June 22 US forces seized control of the island as Japanese officers committed ritual suicide. The US would use the island from which to launch naval and air attacks on mainland Japan until the end of the war.

USE 2160P
It was an honor voicing in this mate
We truly appreciate it!!!
5:47 love the way he managed to sneak in a bit of Dawson from the movie Hacksaw ridge
Thank you!
Desmond doss, dont get confused with titanic mate
@@GotchaChris131 I forgot his name and 2 I wasn’t thinking about titanic I’ve not even seen the movie
@@Fawbie_WW2 oh okay mate, thanks for the heads up
As a lego purist, the clay triggers me, but as an animator, I love it and the advantages it brings. Well done!
Thank you! Yes, the clay was a tough decision for us to make, we do like the 100% LEGO aspects some other animators do, but it does drastically increase the difficulty of animating.

That's cool buddy! It would be nice to cooperate together❤

This concept of clay for terrain is something i've not seen used anywhere, looked awesome alongside the smooth animations, nice job!
Thank you very much!
Glad you put Desmond Doss in the Hacksaw Ridge scene
When you are a random stop motion maker and manage to made a video with Hollywood’s quality:
Amazing job. The ambience at the beginning was simply mind blowing ! And the whole quality reach the top at my eyes
BRO this is outrageous, the quality is stunning. I can't even tell it's stop-motion. With multiple characters moving in one scene, background and foreground. Really good
I've never seen the terrain entirely modeled with clay before and you get some very cool results with it
This has got to be some of the smoothest animation I've ever seen. Fantastic, outstanding, incredible - whatever else I'm missing - job!
Greg got uh oh 👍 hjfjfb hjfjfb figure

Anybody talking about the water effects? Bro it looks like real water.
@@hemorrhoid1 I know! It's insane what this guy has managed to do here with a bunch of plastic toys
The U.S. also intended to use Okinawa as a launch pad for Operation Downfall which would have been the Allied Invasion of mainland Japan but it was canceled after the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the Soviet Invasion of Manchuria on August 9th,1945 . Also love that you added Desmond Doss in there the dude is a legend.
Where is Doss mentioned?
@@LegalShield3000He's the medic that ran out to get the wounded one-legged soldier.
77 years yesterday. Salute to the vets of the 77th infantry including Desmond Doss. And peace to the people of Okinawa who were caught between the armies
Never thought I'd see a Lego animation display the horror of war. The bravery of these Lego figures will not be forgotten.
Especially at moments like
5:44
And
6:37
After a long time , its finally here, can't wait for it to start!
dude this has to be the best hacksaw ridge lego animation i’ve ever seen it’s like the movie
An impressive piece of work. A great way to memorialize the men who gave their lives in this campaign. I also really like the desmond doss cameo.
Thanks!
I like how you made the naval guys wear the police officer uniform from Lego city and on top of that the stop motion itself was incredible and the voices were of the chart!
Love the short cameo of Former Pvt. Desmond Doss, the unmarked medic who saved more than 70 men in that battle
Adding the clay as the ground was an awesome idea as you can shape it and make it look like bombs and shots have disturbed the ground without destroying the bricks. This was an amazing stopmotion! Amazing job!
This was amazing, the animation was so seamless I can’t imagine how long that took. I loved the little nod to Desmond doss during the hacksaw ridge part
Thanks! We wanted to subtly pay respect to Desmond Doss, and appreciate viewers like you noticing!
I love the reference to Desmond Doss ad 5:42! Incredible stop-motion all around!
Thank you!
Well done! The historical accuracy is top notch! An interesting "factoid" was that Japanese intelligence was trying to predict if the U.S. would invade Okinawa or Formosa. The Japanese settled on Formosa (Taiwan) and moved the veteran 9th Infantry Division (which had just arrived from the Kwantung Army in Manchuria) from Okinawa to Formosa. An additional 15,000 Japanese troops plus all of the artillery and machine guns that equipped them would have added to the casualty counts for both sides and probably prolonged the campaign by another month or so. Excellent video!
Man I have no words, this is a masterpiece
I love how this is historical accurate, even more than some movies 😅
Fantastic to see Desmond Doss in this, an incredible human being.
Love the Desmond doss reference when you got to the hacksaw ridge part
The animation is top smooth, and the movements of the figures are very vibrant and full of expression. Very nice animation.
Love the Desmond Doss cameo! Incredible video!
Jsem rád že jsi tam použil i toho japonského snipera

Thanks so much, we are inspired by your films as well!
@@TwinBricks Oh wow, thanks!
I’ve noticed some of the vehicles/tanks used are rare throughout the actual war. This is an amazing and unique feature! Well done!

Wow! This is the best Lego stop-motion movie I’ve ever seen! The sound, the animations, the models - everything is just perfect! Thank you very much for your work!
I really love seeing the Japanese still using bolt-Action rifles and they are hella good with it.
Felt like I was watching an old vintage ww2 film, was on enjoying it the whole time we’ll done!
The way the explosions match the clay is great!
dud I have watched this over and over and I am not tired of it
Love how you used clay for the terrain, it's very unique
As a lego animator, I gotta say that this was an amazing film, well done on the attention to detail
The second I saw the water quality i instantly subbed
truly an amazing animation, the blood effects and heavy artillery fire was so realistic!

This channel is underrated.
Amazing touch with Desmond Doss, flawless
What a masterpiece! I especially love how the music perfectly fits the story, which is quite difficult to achieve. The animation and camera work are basically flawless. Amazing work!
Thank you so much! We new when we wanted to make our film, we wanted music that would fit the emotions well. Check out the composer that produced the soundtrack for us here: ua-cam.com/users/playlist?app=desktop&list=PLXbS4x274K1dkR2M2nA0JkBHQPeaI24M3

The idea with water is amazing
Incredible! One of my new favorite stopmotion videos. Amazing work!
Omg that was the SMOOTHEST stopmotion I have ever seen like when the soldier threw his gun on the ground and I had a little kick back up. It was amazing great job 5 stars!
love the smooth animation! Love how your able to use the clay to your advantages, the way you can mold the terrain is awesome. Great how you keep in mind the physics of objects, like how they will have a slight bounce when you drop them. Keep making more films!
Thank you very much! We will try our best to continue to produce new films!
I’m impressed. Well done!!
A true Masterpiece
So good! The effects were so good! I loved the explosions and it’s so smooth!
Great job! Love the use of clay that reflectvso well one of the aspect of the battle: the mud. The atrack took place during the rainy season...
Wow! I love the smoothness of this animation. This was enjoyable to watch too. I love it.
This is some of the smoothest animation I've ever seen
probably the greatest stopmotion i've ever seen.
I like the terraforming with clay and the little caves.
5:46 is a reference to a movie that makes me feel nice and wholesome on the inside, nice job adding that in!
Easily the best Lego stop motion I’ve seen, I didn’t want it to end!
I was not ready for the sheer amount of frames that went into this holy hell
I'm not even gonna lie, this feels cinema-quality.
Great job!
This is a masterpiece, absolutely amazed by the quality and smoothness of this stop motion. Hats off to you!! :P
Best Okinawa Lego movie I’ve ever seen 😊
Very impressive. Great set, effects, sounds and story. This I'll watch way more than once. 🏆🏆🏆
This video made me look into why the marines had long toms on the island when they had ships off shore
“There’s no way they can survive that barrage”
“Oh but they can”
One of my fav lines from the movie
Impressive. A good depiction of the things used in that battle as well as how desperate the Japanese are as now the US are in their backyard.
6:44 this was really well put together not just the scene I picked out it all of it real good job man keep up this great stop mo production
First ever Lego war that uses clay as the terrain and the smoothness of the animation is just incredible 😊
Thank you!
I like that Doss was included in this
Holy shit I’ve never seen a Lego stop motion this smooth before
Wow, I haven't seen a WW2 stop motion in such a long time with that much effort put into
Thanks!
I LOVED this animation. I really liked the lunge mine scene and the reference to Desmond Doss.
Thanks!
No, thank you for making this film!
i like how the soldiers dont sometimes hold the guns, like the riflemen, and the clay helps stick the feet down, i can see you perfected every frame, well done. The best lego animators take longer because its harder, you are a good animator.
We try our best!
This is the best stop motion ever made I’m just extremely amazed
I love the water animation at the start!
Do not give up making these videos, This is the best quality lego war movie i've ever seen!

Flamethrower is cool as heck
There are a lot of efforts to make a stopmotion like this. Congratulations!
