Tucker Dunkel well I mean we should feel bad for the Singaporeans they were invaded by many countries Britain, Japan and many more. The British just defended what they stole. So in this Case no ones the hero .
Damn I miss these beautiful days, but I am happy that I remember this and made memories of these glorious times. Thank you Jack for your amazing skills.
The Battle of Singapore, also known as the Fall of Singapore, was fought in the South-East Asian theatre of World War II when the Empire of Japan invaded the British stronghold of Singapore-nicknamed the "Gibraltar of the East". Singapore was the major British military base in South-East Asia and was the keystone of British imperial interwar defence planning for South-East Asia as well as the South-West Pacific. The fighting in Singapore lasted from 8 to 15 February 1942 although this was preceded by two months of British resistance as Japanese forces advanced down the Malaya peninsula. It resulted in the capture of Singapore by the Japanese and the largest surrender of British-led military personnel in history.[3] About 80,000 British, Indian and Australian troops became prisoners of war, joining 50,000 taken by the Japanese in the earlier Malayan Campaign. The British Prime Minister, Winston Churchill, called the ignominious fall of Singapore to the Japanese the "worst disaster" and "largest capitulation" in British military history.
Just gotta say- this was epic! The sound effects, voice overs, flamethrower effect, FPS rate, and basically everything was just perfect. If this isn’t the definition of “masterpiece,” then I don’t know what is!
Fantastic work bud, that 's the best Lego stop-action I've ever seen! The consistency is superb, the sound is beautiful, and the effects were brilliant. I love how you did grenade/shell/etc. explosions, it looks really good! Lots of devotion here, but it paid off well! Simply epic!!! :D
Excellent job! The sound and aesthetics are good and help keep the theme, and the minifigs were animated well (which is always the hard part ;D) They move fluidly and don't jar around. This must have taken ages, so we'll done and keep up the good work!
It’s insane how well made this was I always find my self watching this every month or so yet I don’t even own my LEGO stuff anymore through this and a game called bolt action my interest for ww2 lives on
Best explosion sound effect ever also very smooth movement love the blood effect and how the camara shakes when something explodes terrific stop motion and very enjoyable to watch
This video is 10 years old! Incredible. I watched this on repeat as a little 8 year old, honest to god I hear the sound design occasionally when brushing my teeth, I see the lego Japanese figures rushing across the scene in the very opening shot sometimes when walking to college. This animation of yours has been living in the back of my head rent free for the past decade. More than half of my life. Thought you ought to know
This was really, really good! I totally liked the explosion effects from the granades and the cannon. Also the soldiers motions where totally rad. specially when they were getting shot. 11/10!!! :-)
I don't blame the Japanese government. The government was in control of the military which grew aggressive against its allies. Emperor Hirohito wasn't in complete control. General Hideki Tojo (correct me if I spelled his name wrong) was the ones who gave commands.
+Jacob Taylor That's sad, but don't hate America for it. It was the Japanese who killed them by dragging them into the war. Civilian casualties are an inevitable part of modern conflict.
This is really accurate you should make one when the u.s troops ride on boats and arrive in the island and the japanese are mowing them down the troops like grass or trench warfare
well, it was 4,000 photos, and I'm going to guess they have a normal life so, it could take a week or two... last time I made a 10 minute stop-motion using 5,000 photos it took me about a month because of school and other things that pop up.... so yeah....
As much as I am against Japanese victory, you have to kind of admire their tactics. I find it interesting how the IJA would fight until the end for their honor and emperor.
Sir Sabre indeed, the fact that the Japanese were able to seize Singapore and Malaysia and do it as well as they did makes it one of the greatest tactical achievements in human warfare alongside the Muslims conquering of the Persians in the 600's and Napoleon's various campaigns.
and we killed thousands of native Americans, Belgium killed thousands of Congolese, turkey tried to exterminate Armenia and is sloppily covering it up, every country has done some horrible things. that doesn't mean that an entire people irredeemably suck for it.
Being made about 9 years ago as the time of writing this comment; the stop motion is still really amazing! And the fact they didn't use almost if not fully natural effects for stuff like explosions.
I saw this when it first came out and has bin a subscriber since like 500 and just wanted to say when it comes to stop motion you have bin my role model and you are and will always be my favorite youtuber

Holy shit man this was great. I loved how you didn't go with any special effects, you just stuck with good old prop work. Great work.
I agree.
Just gotta say- this was epic! The sound effects, voice overs, flamethrower effect, FPS rate, and basically everything was just perfect. If this isn’t the definition of “masterpiece,” then I don’t know what is!

Wow this just wasn't the British infantrys day..... Great job btw
really cool vid :D my only (very small) complaint was that i couldn't always tell the different troops apart.
but only at the beginning
who won because the Japanese flag was flying at the end
GT4SGM Japanese
This was really, really good! I totally liked the explosion effects from the granades and the cannon. Also the soldiers motions where totally rad. specially when they were getting shot. 11/10!!! :-)
Wow, this is one of the best lego stopmotions ever made. It blends creativity, history, historical accuracy and skill into one amazing video.
I don't blame the Japanese government. The government was in control of the military which grew aggressive against its allies. Emperor Hirohito wasn't in complete control. General Hideki Tojo (correct me if I spelled his name wrong) was the ones who gave commands.
That is true and my Grandpa and grandmas friend and family member died by the American in Okinawa
+Jacob Taylor That's sad, but don't hate America for it. It was the Japanese who killed them by dragging them into the war. Civilian casualties are an inevitable part of modern conflict.
Each Japanese soldier had like three grenades. So many grenades.
+Michael Gloss Wow, I just noticed that!
Such an impressive video!
Great MOC and smooth animation
Incredible set!! This is your best video yet

This is really accurate you should make one when the u.s troops ride on boats and arrive in the island and the japanese are mowing them down the troops like grass or trench warfare
