Nick tells a story of when he did a slow at the Edinburgh fringe, Jimmy Carr was standing at the back and laughing in his very distinctive way. Obviously the rest of the crowd realised it was Jimmy and kept looking round, taking the focus off Helm. Nick decided he had to sort this out, and said "Hey Jimmy, I don't come to your gigs and laugh do I?"
Adam Buxton - who sang the Countdown Breakdown - is a true gem. Always hilarious. His reading of UA-cam comments, and his Beach Boys skit, are remarkably great. You'd love him.
The last group have some more funny cats does countdown songs. They are the Brett Domino Trip and I’m pretty sure they have their own compilation. Check it out!
Nick Helm's not usually my cup of tea, but comedy-wise he absolutely *nailed* that song. It just got funnier as it went on. Ridiculous and hilarious. Like this whole show, really. This was a great choice for a reaction, guys. I hadn't even seen a couple of them.

He's also an actor and rock musician, he's had his own TV show, done a few movies and has several studio albums. If his comedy is not your cup of tea you should check out his music for sure.
Er, listen guys, but pedantic pedant here... that show's not Countdown, it's "8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown". Oh boy, don't mix the two up or vast battalions of UK pensioners will come after you wielding their walking frames, afternoon nap suits, and Complete Volumes of the Oxford English Dictionary. You have been warned! 😃
Nick Helm's comedy just doesn't make sense to me; loads of yelling and aggression but very little comedy. I've actually not watched some episodes, despite my adoration for the show, if he's on it
That's the beauty of comedy, there is a little bit of something for everyone. I personally don't understand how Peter Kay sold out arenas, just by reminding people of TV show references and doing hack premises like "Misheard Lyrics"
@@TheOrlandoTrustfull Subjective as comedy may be, I would genuinely question someone's understanding/appreciation of comedy if they prefer Nick Helm to Peter Kay
@TheOrlandoTrustfull that's a very definite statement on a subjective matter. I'm a massive Bill Burr fan, but Dave Chappelle (great as he is) peaked about 20 years ago, he's too political now. I can only assume you're not from the UK though
@Tommy You would be wrong. But if we're specifically talking about arena acts, you can keep people getting standing ovations for shouting "Garlic bread" to an audience of 65 year old women 😂

The Nick Helm and Susie Dent love story arc is amazing!
Nick Helm bellowing a love song directly into Susie's face from 6 inches away will never not be funny to me.
lol It was hilarious. Comedically, the whole performance was beautifully crafted.
Adam Buxton - who sang the Countdown Breakdown - is a true gem. Always hilarious. His reading of UA-cam comments, and his Beach Boys skit, are remarkably great. You'd love him.
Alex Horn doing an egg sandwich in a microwave whilst signing the instructions is a good one!

Hadn't seen that cats does countdown (compilation) before, although I remember seeing some individual clips.. Loved your reaction. Great vid guys. ❤😅
You can't really blame Nick. I've been in love with Susie Dent for thirty years.
You're not the only one :)
I forgot just how funny these songs were. There are more. One with Alex and the microwave
More Nick Helm songs for Suzie? And The Horne Section? Please? Jesus, they cheer me up!
Enjoyed the longer reaction today!
That was great... though it's disappointing it didn't include Bill Bailey's "Tom Waits sings Old MacDonald".
Good call... anything involving music and comedy should include Bill!

You cant go wrong with Nick at the helm 😎
Nick Helm is always amazing on this show.
Nick Helm is a brilliant stand up he’s apparently lost 5 stone no proof of that love countdown does cats what a brilliant selection thanks guys😂

Especially when you say "the OLD Countdown"! If anything, it's the new Countdown!
More Bret domino trio songs
Do you know what dogging means? If not it's having sex outdoors while others watch, usually in your car.

@Tommy I am indifferent to both, I just find Susie being uncomfortable amusing. I don't like much UK stand up, it's about 30 years behind the US.
