This album has more samples than any other ever made, it came at a time when there was confusion about the law. It didn't sell well when it first came out but is now rightly regarded as a masterpiece. With regards to your comment at the end, a lot of the songs flow straight into the next track and it does keep it moving.
I was listening to this album just the other day,,,,it's sooo good. The beats are so dope. Countless times, that's how many times I listen to this album since it was released. At the time this was on a different level than anything else. I love you mentioned Gratitude, because it's one of their best songs. If you watch the video you'll see they used Pink Floyds Speakers from their live video at Pompeji
New to your reactions, love them and appreciate you! I came up with the the Beastie Boys. Came here to say, Paul's Boutique is a masterpiece (imho--but i'm not alone) and, as you listen/react to songs from it, I'd encourage you to consider every song from this record like a chapter in a novel. Every track is a piece of the story. Gotta listen to the record from start to finish to appreciate how one song feeds into and complements the next to make something bigger than the sum of its parts. There are lots of songs that you could pull out and say that shit is dope, but as a whole... I mean it's a fucking awesome journey.
Yo girl just started the video already stopping to comment. The beat just started ic u bobbin that head ik u know this beat is hot! My boys lay it down in this song. Watched a couple of your videos now like what ic girl.
Yo; the sample list from this song is a walk through a music library. If you are not flipping off every sample to the original cuts. You missed the tip toe through your ancestors play list.
Got ya on this one. Great take. It's an uncomfortable listen, but not in a bad way. Keeps you off guard. Love to see you react to Jessi (badass bitch rapper in K-pop). I would recommend "Nunu-Nanna" or "Who Dat B?" for starters. Only if you have time. Thanks for what you do.
They do play their own instruments, they're dope.
The sampled beat “Those Shoes” brought to you by the “Eagles”. Worth checking out.
It rides directly into the next song "The Sounds of Science" on the album.
