Yo C...these dudes were and will be the foundation for creation of rap. Their samples of many other artists is what made them the elite. Paul's boutique remains the most sampled work with all the respect that goes to those artists...yeah, artists. I challenge anyone to show me a better, more cohesive group than the Beastie boys. Prove me wrong people.
This is one of their best songs. Beastie Boys should be on the tip of everyones tongues when talk about great hip hop groups. But do your fav hip hop groups also play punk rock? or funk? or bossanova? Beastie Boys do it all and are fun. You should check out "Get It Together ft Q-tip"
So the bassy sample is a cut from the Eagle's song, Those Shoes. Beastie Boys are Hip Hop legends. Inspiring so much, and so many. These white boy's killed it. Setting the example, and the blue print.
you're right, a lot of dumbasses will never give them a chance, but all the smart folks know the story--serious rap/hip-hop heads know the deep beasties catalog. they cannot be avoided.
No trailer park, they were all new york punk rock kids, they were a punk band before they did hip hop, man i dont know how much if their music you have heard, but the well of songs is bottomless, they had so many good albums all their stuff was so good, when guys that are considered icons and legends refer to them as hip hop royalty
i don't think there's too many trailer parks in nyc lol- i’m white and wouldn't have been offended at all if you would have just said who would have thought 3 white guys could put out such bangers- and i think they're pretty notorious- they just aren't really a group that you younger kids are aware of- they are one of a handful of rap groups inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame- and stayed active for like 30 yrs- try CAR THIEF- off this same album- most people are like whooaa to both those cus- no videos for them tho
it's not about skin c*l*r , beastie boys were aliens , rapers coming from punk music?, something appart, MCs and didnt feel like something serious , and west coast got more popular I love their colab with Q-tip more than the colab they did with NAS. Technically, they were as hard as steel ;-)
They came from Manhattan and Brooklyn. Definitely not trailer park, but straight up NYC.
Hands down best B.B song. Makes no sense how its not considered their best. Greatest story telling song outside of The Show
The entire Paul's Boutique album is top tier.
Legit every album is top tier

The beat, “Those Shoes” from the Eagles.
I love them to death, but none of those dudes ever lived in a trailer park. :)

beastie boys were in a trailer park in Brooklyn? big cities have projects... but I dont think Beastie boys were poor kids
Almost every rapper you listed came 10 years or more after the Beastie Boys.
did you know, Beasties are Chris Rock's favorite rap group? Paul's Boutique is his favorite album - please review every song.
Miles Davis was a big fan of Paul's Boutique too. He said that he never got tied of listening to it.
