Yeah, at first I thought it was a hoax; the fact that it's real blows my mind. There is obviously a LOT of re-engineering to the old Landy to prepare it for approx. 3x the power !!
This is a perfect adaptation of the Defender. I would take one of these over the new JL Wrangler any day of the week. Everything about it down to the small infotainment screen that manages to be inoffensive in the center stack of this classic is perfect. I'm also very thrilled to see this 5.0 V8 available here in NA format, which retains the purity of this build. I bet with this being a body on frame construction, simple 4 wheel drive system, solid axles and limited electrical components that it'd be as reliable as a toyota pickup! I know that unibody offroaders are both the reason and bane of land rovers existence when it comes to reliability and this lacks that complicated element.

This car should be priced at $140k not $200k. I know it seems like splitting hairs but it really is ridiculously overpriced. That’s what you get with a very limited run I guess.

This is actually so much better looking then new concepts, they should've just redesign it saving the outside look, every single other LR is aerodynamic and modern as of today, LR could've kept one in retro looks giving it en edge of technology insides. MB Gelendvagen sort of style, could made it out of aluminum as well but saving the styling. Something does not get old as it is timeless.
I have a 1987 90" defender in phoenix orange. Extremely clean for its age and will probably still be running when i'm long gone, i'm only 26. There not expensive when you think about the cost of buying a new car ever few years.

No more fitting an owner than that from a former Colony ;) Royal Enfield still exists thanks to their Indian subsidiary, which was a direct offshoot of the original Royal Enfield.
This version is expensive but worth a second look. I like the Jaguar auto stick and cool Discovery dash. When I test drove a stock Defender 90, I was put off by its abysmal ergonomics. I urge anyone to look at the many dedicated rebuilders of the Defender 90 and 110, like this one, who endow the truck with more modern drivetrains.
I have 13 plate Defender, looks like this one with out the fuel tanker engine, are they worth the money, no, but they are fun and I will all ways keep mine.
Make sure you have good visible security fitted and get a good tracker. They have become number one target for lowlife scum! They are being stolen to order. My mate recently sold his 2005 90 because he would be up at the window every time he heard a sound outside. AND he had a tracker fitted. It was both funny and sad at the same time! Now he just bounces around in my Disco for fun when we go and play

G class is much more luxurious but I respect this so much more. Land Rover built a limited edition retro throwback as a proper tribute to a legend, whereas MB just milked an old ass platform for as long as possible and people kept paying hundreds of thousands for it.
What people don't know is that its not brand new! Land Rover purchased existing defenders on the market, put a 5.0L V8 inside alongside an automatic gearbox and then sell them for 150k!! This is why they all have around 8-10k miles on clock!
