I stopped going to Church after my divorce when I found out from a friend (the church i was attending) half the people were actively cheating on their spouses. Also, if you were a single man without young children you were pretty much shunned. You could go and worship, but you were not welcome at events or gatherings as a single man. They rarely, if ever, accept accountability of their "words" or actions, they cannot seem to "man up." I am 60 yrs old and me and my mother are basically in "no contact" mode because my mother always takes the "I'm right" position and refuses to see any other perspective. I have very little faith in the behavior of women. Young men should know this by the time they’re 15. That women’s behavior is primitive in nature as being narcissistic and hypergamous. I was "buddy" with my wife for a long time, of course not what I wanted. Then she had fun with some junkie, having kid from him. After this I thought I finally can have her and forced the things, so I can get her. I was "buddy" with my wife for a long time, of course not what I wanted. Then she had fun with some junkie, having kid from him. After this I thought I finally can have her and forced the things, so I can get her. And happened, we got 2 kids now, but I can tell you - all the way I felt like alternative, like second choice - she has never initiated intimacy, never been appreciated for what I did to pull her out of the misery, never been desired me as I desire her. She act like she admires her exes and suffered with them, keeping contacts with some of them (as friends). I honestly believe, she is not a cheater, but at the end she is more loyal to herself, to the kids and maybe after this to me. Easily can say that my life without her will be probably better than this with her.
Now, we are going to separate and probably soon divorce. Now she is ready to see me and give me everything I need, but I already do not want it. Treated me like a buddy, the buddy you will get, not a man!

What do you love more? Being down with alcohol or being uplifted without alcohol? Make plans and substitutes ahead if time to take alcohols place when you face that temptation.
Stop going places where the alcohol is a problem, or hanging with drunks. I actually had to tell persistent people that my body can't process alcohol anymore and that I would get severely sick. I quit alcohol and then found out I did in fact have liver issues which I was able to correct before things got real bad. You have to make changes and plans to ensure the success of those goals.
Make a decision, tell yourself no more and stick to it. That’s it. Exactly what I did almost 10 years ago. Best decision I ever made - mentally, physically, financially and emotionally.

As a European catholic man I have to say, you Americans don’t know how crazy it sounds for us , that you people just go out there and found your own churches just like that. It’s just a completely different life approach all together. Makes sense on one hand, as the big church is just too far away from the small person, but I also see the danger in that. That's got some childhood trauma because she's "daddy's princess" during the day, but at night he goes to sleep with mom, not her...
