I had the pleasure to meet Mark last year. Great bloke ❤
He certainly is!
Great video! Thanks for doing another part with him, super entertaining
interesting man, friendly and great storyteller
Great interview Mark. Congratulations once again to you and Jen with Mark junior on the way. Nice to see another Aussie interviewed. Thanks for sharing. 🙏
Regards,
Adrian.
Thank you Adrian. 😊
Great video. Glad to see a fellow Aussie on here. Was thinking you might not like us too much 😮
Yea I'm one who decided to just stay here nothing really to go back to in America where I grew up.
I go to the VA hospital each year for my check up for in Manila I'm on Disability compensation from the Marines durning Vietnam war 50% ,after 2 very short term scammer marriages to filipinas it's all I have left to live on rent,no house anymore in America, and no social security,so I'm thankful for what I have left.,I'm 71@@jacked6
Thanks Mark for putting in the effort on these interviews! Appreciate it.
I've known Aussie Mark for a relatively short time but I discovered he's very open, honest and easy to like and admire. I aspire to get to a similar level of familiarity that he has with the local dialect because he's 100% correct when he mentioned how it can be something worthwhile to have at your disposal. Mutual respect is typically always going to be there anyway but interactions with locals become noticeably different on an even more positive level after making an effort to learn a bit of Bisaya.
Thank you for watching and for sharing your experience 😊
Great man his house is stunning. Thanks for showing Mark.
Nice looking place. Another great interview.
When I was in high school my friend got a new Kawasaki 500. He got me to ride on the back. We went 25 miles on a busy mountain two lane highway in a little over 15 minutes. Passing 5 to 6 motorhomes, trucks cars at a time. Lucky to survive. Livingston to Bozeman
I didn't learn the first time and he talked me into another ride. He popped a wheelie while we were doing 55 to 60, I could see the shadow with the sun going down. A few weeks later he sold it because he said he didn't want to die.
you can test drive a motorbike there, it's called a rental. shop for the bike, decide what you want and rent the same bike for a day or two
love the pool , looks like a great home he has built
Wow, he has a beautiful home
Been riding motorcycles for 57 years, helmets safed my life 2 times.
What was the total cost of the house and upgrades? The pool looks fantastic
Congrats Mark and Jen I’m happy for both of u.. God Bless🙏❤️
"Big Yank Tanks" ROTFLMAO. I love this guy already...
Great interview
Interesting interview, Mark! Not being a motorbike driver myself, I would have prefered seeing his car (I saw it in the background only) but all in all the guy makes a lot of sense.
Good interview
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
@@everymanhasastory Learning about what bike is best for a all around bike in the Philippines was very helpful. Is buying a used bike a pain and can you ride it immediately or do you have to wait months for a plate like a new one?
Another rule of driving in the Philippines : Do not force the "issue "☺
I see lots of people in TX riding motorcycles without helmets, very dangerous idea
great video. Nice house
Great interview and I love motorcycles.. because of my age and arthritis I will buy a small car after I arrive.. is there a part 2? He was showing the house and the video just cut off.. thanks and congratulations on your child😊😊
Great house and bike collection. Enjoyed the video.
I really enjoyed this interview. I plan on getting a Car as soon as possible when I move there I will have a motorcycle but just for short run down to the store and such and I will have a good helmet to wear. I was there before Covid and yes the police are so nice. They are actually what I call human beings, not robot police without feelings or emotion like we have in the United States, now there are a few good policeman 96 earlier but I’ve seen some real macho. Assholes as well. Can’t wait to move. They’re just waiting for my social security by the way congratulations on the baby Mark..
I have a small splash pool. Only run it a few hours a week.
Who does his maintenance on the bikes?
Good Morning from Northern California, what area do you live in Philippines?
1.5 HP is 1KW... so a 400W solar panel, for 2.5 hours at lunchtime, is enough to run your filter?...
Great safety discussion, now stateside no helmet? We Yanks are exempt from laws of physics...
No wonder harrow hasn’t been doing any videos. Flat out on the house.
road rage is reserved for the captial. haha
Does Mark have a wife ?buying the house?
Nice guy but I have no interest in motor bikes at all. Never been on one. Of course now at my age to late to start.
Funny he calls that 'big' bike a motorcycle. In the US that is still a scooter. Yes it's a motor 'bike' but not what is traditional motorcycle. I was expecting a bike like a big Honda Shadow with saddle bags. The last two are motorcycles. the one is a dirt bike and the last one is a small street bike.
Whatever you do, DO NOT go on the Manila expressway with a bike under 400cc.
I accidentally ended up at a toll booth on my Barako 175 going to Batangas. I forgot to set my Garmin GPS to avoid expressways.
The toll taker said she had to call police. When a plain clothes cop arrived he is seriously pissed. He threatened to take my license and make me go to the QC police department to get them. I knew if that happened I was going to be paying big bribes and I needed to start talking fast.
I explained I was on my first cross-country trip from Mindanao. My GPS took me to the expressway without me even knowing I was on it until I saw the toll booth.
When he threatened me with having to go to the police station to get my license, I asked how am I supposed to find the police station when I didn’t even know where I was at that moment.
Saying that and my next statement likely saved my ass.
Then I said, “ Look, Sir. I am a guest in your country. I don’t intentionally break your laws.
He walked to the police SUV to someone waiting inside. About a minute later he returns and damn near throws my license at me before pointing at a gate to the service road and told me to get out of there.
Thank you for watching and for taking the time to comment 😀
A smog test in the Philippines, LOL, yet lets burn everything LOL
How was he able to buy a house there?
It's complicated
I guess he has a Filipina wife or girlfriend, and has bought it in her name while at the same time he will have had a long lease (at least 25 years) drawn up in his name giving him the right to live there.....
If he is married to Filipina, it can be recorded in her name and his name. It's hers unless she dies, and then he can actually own it.
@@vremerman I'm not totally certain, but I think that only applies to the house...not the land its built on....
@@everymanhasastory I guess so because he never mentioned a wife
