i actually was enjoying the new XFL, it was like a minor football league, and i was enjoying all the games. i was SUPER pissed that the season got scrapped because of COVID, it was doing so damn well....fuck this virus man.
As did I & even conversed with good ol' J.R. about seeing the late "Dr. Death" Steve Williams at Six Flags with his family & my idea for a wrestler's gimmick!
Agreed, I do not think it is fair to say it was a failed buisiness venture. This was much better than the 1st version. I look forward to the new version when it comes back
I’m thankful The Rock and others bought it because it was so much fun. The awkward locker room/post big-play interviews were hilarious, their kickoff and 1/2/3 pt conversion rules were unique and brilliant, and the crowds were always really into the games.
@@jtp2007 The XFL absolutely was a failed business venture. Twice. Sure the second time round it was presented better and there were obviously side issues with COVID affecting it but to say it didn't fail is nonsense. Any company which declares bankruptcy and sells for as little as $15 million having had who knows how many times more put into it is *ABSOLUTELY* a failed business venture. It may go on to become a success but, if so, it'll be done without the WWE/Vince- hence why it's a failed WWE business venture and in the video.
As a french, i was confused for one second when "TOUT" appeared as number one, since "Tout" is (one of) the french for "All". Like "what are the fails of Vince McMahon ? ALL AND EVERYTHING".
I remember attending a live event a few years ago, and quite literally the first thing that happened was the ring announcer made a goddamn tout in the middle of the ring.
I remember that as well! I went to a live event in Melbourne (Australia) with my dad in 2012, and I have a vague memory of Justin Roberts making a Tout video at some point in the show.
The WWE Universe social network and Tout were obviously symptoms of WWE's maniacal obsession with controlling everything and keeping it all under its umbrella. I think it's a good thing that at least some initiatives of that type fall flat on their faces, every once in a while, making the company look stupid for its stubborn denial of some basic realities.
Do you know who worked with WWE on some of their early WWE music releases. SIMON COWELL. Yes that's right Simon Cowell American and Pop Idol Judge and also the X-Factor judge. Early in his career when he was still looking to find the next big thing. Simon Cowell looked at what was popular on TV in the UK and saw who he could use to release music with. WWE was one of those. He was also behind the release of the theme song to Power Rangers being released as a single. Zig and Zag, the Teletubbies.
shame what happened to the second XFL, it unlike the first incarnation had something and could and should have been a success but no Covid had other plans.
"All radio was good for in 1993" bruh, talk radio and especially Sports talk radio is still a thing. It's just no one gave a crap about wrestling talk radio in that kind of market, until podcasting, where the niche audience will come to you.
So WWE lost 10’s of millions with the original XFL, then Vince tried to revive it by pumping $100,000,000 into it, then shut it down again, but TOUT is number 1?
a) the graphics are lovely in a Hitchhiker's way b) far fewer of these were appalling stinkers than I was expecting. at least half of them were just sheer bad luck.
I think they were on to something with wwf New York. It still could of been a restaurant but inside museum of things from the vault. Hell over time and money they could of been a smithsonian of sorts. Compete with a hall of fame wing.... but that would be too obvious for WWE
Honestly, he's never been super successful at anything except when Rock, Austin and Taker carried his company for 5 years. I'll give him credit for Wrestlemania but that's about it.
Y'all ever wonder what would have happened if Vince got caught for the steroid trail and Jerry Jarret took over during the lean 90s? It's one of my big what ifs in wrestling.

I bet vince is pissed that his step up as a new business with xfl tanked, meanwhile his new rival is doing ok
