Concise, clear explanation of goals and the scientific why behind our avoidance of completing them. Currently reading “The Power of Habit” and it was my first time encountering the habit loop! Mind blown.
Awesome video guys! I have always found that visualising what I'm working towards really helps with my goals. I've been trying to run and do resistance training three times a week each, and sometimes its REALLY hard to make myself do it, but if I think about how much better I'm gonna be and how much weight I'm gonna lose (hopefully) if I just keep it up, it really motivates me. Same has been true for learning the piano... Its REALLY damn hard, and it's so tempting to skip practice sometimes. But I keep imagining what I might be able to do in a years time if I keep going and it motivates me to carry on. So far, been running and weight training for just under a year, and I've lost 24kg Been learning piano for about a year and a half, and I would be taking grade one exams if they were available during covid.
This gave me the idea of writing down the positive effects of habits I want to attain (such as excercise and cold showers and whatnot) and negative effects of bad habits (smoking, drinking, staying on UA-cam)
I hope everything is ok with you boys, it's been a while since we've heard from you. Your videos have a really big effect on my mental health, and I hope to see you guys soon.
I feel like my willpower is too powerful. Where there’s a will there’s a way. If I had to walk downstairs to turn off the alarm to go back to bed, you bet your ass I will. Granted I don’t think I’m using my willpower correctly
I think one of the best ways is to combine something you have to do with something you want to do. I’ve learned a ton of Russian by listening to Pimsleur almost every time I need to wash dishes.

Just commenting so.. yt algorithm would know we love his videos.❤️ I was working on getting back to my healthy lifestyle mentally physically and spiritually I become lazy after lockdown.

Yessir! Set those bigger goals and then have some micro goals. This is your road map to your big time goals! I definitely use to try to pick up the pennies before I picked up the dollars 💵 lol
a great exercise is called "Performance Profiling" it's basically a way of assessing all competencies/skills in your chosen craft / life and it uses a simple self-rating process to determine which things are most worth setting some goals around

I'm pretty satisfied with my behaviour when it comes to setting goals and do everything to achieve them. And one reason for that are/were your videos. Awesome video by the way! :)
In some way, shape or form the information presented wasn't new to me but the way it was presented was clear, concise and excellent in my view, contributing to motivating me to better myself or at least be more aware of the habits that are going on in my life which I'd like to improve. Thank you!
I haven't been seeing a lot of you guys in my feed so I'm commenting in hopes youtube will see my engagement as wanting more of these videos. More please.

Interesting!
I wish I knew from the beginning that it is a good idea to split goals into small work packages... could have saved me a ton of frustration
Same mate!
