Hey Raycast team, thank you for this great software! Raycast is one of the reasons that keeps me sticking to MacOS. I tried switching to Linux this last month, and your software was one of the most important tools I was missing. Thanks again!
The Jira plugin is pretty great. One thing that folks might like is if you make a bash script through raycast that does `open -a [program]` then you can setup a hyperkey shortcut to open programs rather than "toggle" which is the default raycast behavior. Jumping directly to programs rather than cmd+tab is awesome.
Hey, I have some feedback regarding the Quick AI mentioned in the video. Most of the time when I ask something to AI, I use Quick AI. And sometimes I do hit CMD+J to open a chat window. It's great, but one thing that bothers me is that it doesn't immediately create a new chat. As shown at 5:48 in the video, the chat window still says "New Chat" at the top until you send another message. This means that if I close that window, there's no way to go back to that chat later. It would be nice if Raycast could always create a new chat when I press CMD+J, so I can easily revisit it later, even if I don't immediately interact with it.
If you press command + [, you can go back to previous chats you had in Quick AI. You can always press command + J to continue the conversation in the AI Chat, even for the ones you didn’t open a chat for in the first place. Does that solve your problem? If not, please clarify so I can understand it better and pass it on to the team 😀
As alternative to what he said, I found that you can use raycast spotify extension + karabiner elements to rebind the mac media controls to spotify only (even when closed) by binding them to keys not on the keyboard like f19,f20 and setting them as the shortcut. Although it has some delay, I find it much less annoying than apple music and play/pausing random media like youtube videos
Karabiner Elements is really powerful. I have remapped only pressing Caps Lock to F13 and I use that as a single key shortcut to launch Raycast. Shift+Caps Lock still toggles Caps Lock in case I need it. And I have mapped Fn + any key to Hyper + same key and Fn if pressed alone.
Hey 👋 He talked about a lot of apps in the video so you might not be referring to Raycast itself, but if that’s the case: it is not built with Electron at all! The app is fully native and written in Swift. If the memory consumption is too big, please reach out to feedback@raycast.com so we can address your case ☺️
@@raycastappAfter your message I've reinstalled Raycast again and: - Without extensions - it took ~250MB RAM - With 1 extension (TodoIst) - it takes ~ 500MB RAM (where spawned node process takes ~80MB RAM) I don't remember now how I was misled with this misinformation about Raycast being built with Electron, but I'm very glad that you debunked this false information. I'm happy Raycast user now 😊
Awesome! I've been such a big Raycast fan, and I'm so glad you were able to pull this stuff out of me!
You’re the Bos! 👊
heck yeah
def agree, never want to start apple music 😅
I see you're using BTT, so just letting you know you can map Caps Lock from there as well "Act as Hyper Key"
@@YamenSharaf it’s limited to working only with BTT shortcuts, so using hyper in other apps won’t work. You gotta do it system wide with karabiner

One of the most interesting episodes, the caps lock thing is dope btw
Wesbos is a legend. Started my coding career
Nice! Big fan of his work with Limp Bizkit.

Genuinely impressed by the sick picks, both looked great!

Loving those videos on how other uses Raycast.

The Fellow coffee setup is🔥
What’s that Overkill app he showed off? I can’t see it online
Please keep doing these videos... I learned more about what's possible from these as opposed to researching on my own.
Lots more on the pipeline! 👊
Nice one, Wes 👍
Nice! Big fan of Raycast!
loved this episode!
WE NEED ABLETON EXTENSIONS
Will normal AI chat ever get web access?
We’ve been looking into that internally for a little while. It’s in our plans!
@@raycastapp Awesome, can't wait!
I love Pedro's face when he discovers that Wes is not a Pro user. 😅
I mean GPT-4
Nice video!
항상 잘보고있어요!
It sucks that it's built with Electron. I love the all the features and wish to use it, but memory consumption is just too much for me
