This setup is absolutely genius. Super clear that this has been created by and for a technical person. Not because of the technical complexity but because of the way of thinking behind it and the fight against friction. Kudos!
Mahn it's lovely to watch you how well you sorted out your workflow.. i have the same mindset, but unable to make it into a productivity tool as what you did! I hope after watching this video I can come up with really great ideas!
I love your sublayer setup, but I cannot get it to work, even with your config from git it does not do it like Hyper+R and P. How does that exactly work?
This was the best one yet by far! Just goes to show the level of customisation and of course productivity you achieve with Raycast! I literally just set up a hyper key yesterday with karabiner elements, this is giving me some great ideas!
I love this. Is there any way to do the sublayers in keyboard maestro? I don’t know how to code at all, but would love to get a system like this to work as I too have run out of shortcuts with hyper key!
This was fantastic but I haven't a clue on how he does most of these things. Does it all involve an understanding of Github? I'd love to see a series of videos showing in slow motion exactly how to build what he built - ESPECIALLY hyperkeys. One of my biggest headaches is that i never remember what shortcut to use with Raycast or my fingergs can't handle the gymnastics around holding down five keys at the same time to trigger the action.
Is it possible to do his “namespaced” shortcuts in raycast. The combo shortcuts? I’m interested in trying that but don’t want to maintain a shortcuts list in Karibiner.
Is there a conflict between apple snippets and raycast snippets? If I have the same shortcut (qes for e-mail) in both, will it make the process slower in some way?
Omg, before watching this video, I felt I‘m really advanced Raycast user (even got in yearly report Pianist (50+ hotkeys) ), but after watching it…. Ahm, what is Raycast? No idea how to use it…
Friction isn't all bad, just like debt. Many look at statements of "technical debt" as 100% bad, when it isn't. Neither is friction. Friction is bad as aerodynamic drag... or not necessarily, because it can keep you on the ground... to leverage the friction your tires use to propel you forward. Friction is what holds together nails, screws, and bolts. Friction is what let's you hold things in your hands.
I had to switch to Linux for work... Still using Raycast on my personal Macbook, but missing it so much in my daily work 😭 I use i3 and some Alfred-alike alternative on Linux, i3 is amazing, but thoses linux comand bar are not as powerfull and enjoyable as Raycast is.
This setup is absolutely genius.

The comments here are hilarious 😂 Let me know if you have any questions, happy to answer anything!
You must to share your ideas in the store of raycast for we can install. Great ideas from you. Thx

In the beginning of the video you were talking about the cmd tab probably, but in the video your solution was never presented. What do you use?
I love your sublayer setup, but I cannot get it to work, even with your config from git it does not do it like Hyper+R and P. How does that exactly work?
How do you remember all your Karabiner rules? Even with semantics, it is still difficult to recall some of the more obscure ones...
Didn't know about the hyper key identifier ✦... Neat.
We need his Notion extension to input task with natural language!
same. idk how I missed it, glad to see that
Which extension is that?!
@@frekko it's in advanced section, in settings. there's hyperkey checkbox.
I didn’t get it. Can you clarify?
This is the best raycast workflow so far.
He's using Raycast on another level. So many good ideas in this video!
This was the best one yet by far! Just goes to show the level of customisation and of course productivity you achieve with Raycast!

PLEASE publish the text replacement snippet sync, it's desperately needed! Thanks for the fantastic interview.
PLEAAAASEEEE
Done! ray.so/C2RHHUq
@@raycastapp Thank you! ❤
Awsome extension, but why can't we sync it in both ways? I want my raycast snippets on my ios!
I am determined to learn how to code now. It's so incredible how someone can create tools and extensions to boost their productivity.
I love this idea of "working at the speed of thought". I agree that Raycast is one of those tools that helps me do that! Great episode 🎉
The ultimate goal!
pedro seems to really enjoy taking these interviews. nice to see. he's really giving effort in growing the channel ❤😊.
mega interview, so many great ideas shared! Thanks
Brah is running secondary hyper commands with the hyper key. 🤯
i watched all whats on your raycast, this one was the most genius. efficiency at its finest!
I see the Vim mindset there on categorised keybindings. Good job!
Basically turning macOS into a proper Linux-like tiling-like WM! ;) A very Vim-like approach. I love it! 😍
I would sacrifice my first born child for that Notion NLP todo list extension
Please don't do that! 👼
Great interview and lots of useful tips. More episodes like this on the channel!
I am really curious as to how his Karabiner-Elements X Raycast shortcuts work
It's all open source! You can check his setup on github at github.com/mxstbr/karabiner
@@raycastapp thank u ✨
the setup was looking time taking and complex so I removed it, using hyperkey atm.
That iOS snippet is amazing! Please tell this is coming to the Raycast store soon!
Rewatching this for inspiration how your Notion todo extension seems to work in "smart commit" style

Excellent as always @MaxStoiber! Share a link to your keyboard layout!
incredible. great interview, great tips Max!
Pedro out here looking like a proud dad watching his child
😂 That’s the mood
+1 -> need the import text replacement extension please

I think they are called “chords” in vscode.
great episode, max is a madman!
Could you share your notion NLP script pls
Is there a conflict between apple snippets and raycast snippets? If I have the same shortcut (qes for e-mail) in both, will it make the process slower in some way?
I'd love to learn more about the hyper key stuff. How can I remap a key to those modifiers?
He's using an app called Karabiner Elements alongside Raycast to set that up. Is that a feature you would like to see in Raycast?
@@raycastapp That would be awesome!
@@raycastappyes karabiner feels essential atm, and getting rid of extra applications is always nice
Genius just sheer genius
I had to check what speed the video was running when Max started talking
Blazing fast! 💨
Is there a possibility that Max could perhaps share his commands in a neutral form?
Omg, before watching this video, I felt I‘m really advanced Raycast user (even got in yearly report Pianist (50+ hotkeys) ), but after watching it…. Ahm, what is Raycast? No idea how to use it…
We all felt that way too
Damn! This is awesome! Thank you for this video and thank you for raycast ❤
This is some legendary shit 🤯🤯
Watched this video a second time to finally integrate the karabiner rules. Now the question arises: When is "soon" in 11:03 😜?
Soon! 👀
@@raycastapp 😂
Came here to ask the same question 🙋♂️
He is so real for playing minecraft
The way he uses it with Karabiner is amazing. Going to set that up asap. Great video.

Now this is getting it!
Spent the day trying to figure out how to set up Karabiner-elements and failed.
Same haha
More tips like this, but some explainers needed 😂
bro got productivity flowing through his veins
1. Amazing workflow, this one is so inspiring
2. Please tell us more about Raycast integration in iOS !!

raycast snippets doesnt work in vim as well:)
this made me with i could code
The need to have Karabiner is not making it an easy experience. Raycast need to integrate Karabiner features in.
Friction is how you are sitting on that chair bud
pls develop this app on windows😭🙏🏻
