When you're doing a cover, it's proper to credit the original artist, and not a later band, who also did a cover.

True. Lipps Inc. recorded the original of "Funky Town". Pseudo Echo covered it.

It's by Lipps Inc, in 1980.
And this is a terribly bland version of it.
