A complete jaw bone is good for an initial estimate. Now that we know that they are around perhaps we will be fortunate enough to find related fossils to improve our initial estimate. That's the way it works. Good find though and a good report on it.

It's a tough call imo bc a lower jaw does suggest the overall proportion of the animal. Bur on the other hand it could have just had a massive mouth in relation to the rest of its body due to what its primary food source. I hope they find more fossils in the future to give us a more complete picture

Yes its a nice video - im a new fan too hey do you know why the large swimming reptiles did go extinct around the cretaceous period? What are your thoughts on that? It seems that way of locomotion ( using four flippers ) disappears around this time - you are the expert, what could have caused that to happen?

They went extinct due to the same reasons the non-avian dinosaurs did. After the asteroid impact, a ton of ash was shot up into the atmosphere, blocking out the sunlight. This caused a lot of plant life to die out. This then led to many herbivores dying because they had very little food. Once the herbivores die, then the carnivores have nothing to eat, and then they die out as well. As for the locomotion part of your question, that never really stopped, considering that we still have animals like sea turtles, fish, cetaceans, and pinnipeds.
