This is my favorite version of the Boogie Man. Not only is he literally a sack filled with thousands of various insects, but he also forces his victims to gamble with their lives, two characteristics that seem to be unique to this particular Boogie Man.
My guess is he's got the basic melody and lyrics all planned and simply alters them on the spot as he sings. This might also explain why his boss fight songs in the game Oogie's Revenge are all slightly altered versions of the main song.

It was intentional. Tim Burton told Danny Elfman he wanted a song along the lines of Cab Calloway’s “Minnie the Moocher” and Elfman decided to take inspiration from “The Old Man of the Mountain” as well.
You know oogie boogie creeped me out a lot when I first saw him, with the fear of bugs and yknow the idea of something being split open or sewn together freaked me out, yknow like it would for most kids, but honestly he's such a fun character.
