I deleted the dating apps, too. What is for me will find me while I am not actively looking. Until then I'll just enjoy being single, and cuddling with my kitties. Hey, Daniel...I'm one of your "Grandma" subscribers. Just wanted to confirm what an amazing, compassionate guy you are. You have the right idea to delete the dating apps for now. Working on yourself is so much more important for now. That sunburn looks so painful- ouch! Your Mother's Day hike on the beach with your mom and the dogs was lovely. I was in an 8-year relationship that ended right around the same time that yours did and I feel the same way you do. When you love hard, you end up trusting your gut more than most people and I think that's a gift you should always hang on to. When you know, you know - especially in the apathy sense. I have tried (and on-and-off deleted) apps for over 2 years and I have also been told by my friends to give things time and not be so picky but I think having standards and trusting your instincts are way more important than any companionship. Good for you for trying some casual dating and deciding it's not for you. It's not a failure, it's an important learning experience. People like you definitely give me hope and reassurance that it's ok to wait for something that feels right instead of trying to file down the edges of a square peg to fit in a round hole.

Nice to see you take your mom out for Mothers Day, you are a good son Daniel. Fun day of shopping, you always find so many great things making me want to go out and give them a try. Really liked the light pants with side pockets, thinking they will look nice and casual for one of your backyard parties. Ouch, haven't had a sunburn in years, but I certainly remember how painful they are, thanks for the recommendation of the cream in case I ever expose myself to the sun again,Lol, you can't get any whiter than me. You dipped your toe in the app dating scene and now you know it’s not for you. My generation didn’t have dating apps, we met through school, friends, parties, bars or work. I met my husband on a ski trip and I wasn’t looking for a relationship. I read this quote recently and it resonated with me “ TIME decides who you meet in life. Your HEART decides who you want in your life. And your BEHAVIOUR decides who will stay in your life”.

It's been so wonderful getting to know your actual personality, Daniel. I also really like seeing you learn that you need to sometimes put yourself first. You seem like the type of person who gives and gives but then no one seems to realize that it's time for them to pour into your cup. Doing so much for others can be really rewarding, but in your case, it must be exhausting when you have people being critical and saying you should give more. I just want to say that a lot of us saw how much you gave over the years. At the expense of yourself sometimes. I don't blame you for being a bit exhausted if you are. Put the energy into yourself that you give to others. And also don't be scared to eventually trust someone who will nurture you and support your goals too.

i think daniel’s so much more unapologetically himself, he recognises his privilege but reminds everyone he’s still a person and he’s so authentic, transparent and relatable the more he opens up about his feelings, he’s been on my radar since he first got with joey but i think as time has gone on i resonate with him so much more and feel real reassurance and comfort in his content
I agree, 100%. I discovered Daniel recently through Joey’s vlogs and I find myself enjoying his content more because I feel more of a connection to it. It feels like it’s less superficial and more meaningful.

I deleted all of my dating apps back in September and it was a good decision. I’m kind of in a similar head space. I’m working on myself and trying to be the kind of person I want to attract.

Going to the wedding and supporting your ex on his wedding day is a great idea. If you are afraid of appearing like you are stealing his thunder on one of the most important days of his life, I would suggest not wearing a tux. You can look amazing wearing something formal without looking like you are competing with the wedding party. Dating apps never appealed to me. It always felt like the least personal way that you could meet the person you want to be MOST personal with.
My daughter, Emily worked at AE. She loved it!! She worked there all through high school and part of college. She now works at a high-end Boutique in Easton, MA, and is head of their social media!!! She has a BA in Psychology and Elementary Education. I think retail has always been her passion.
Gawd- those comments about dating and give it time! I relate to that!! Same history with sparks on first dates! No- listen to yourself! I tried that advice of having more dates without a spark, especially where I got along with the person but no sparks. In my experience, it doesn’t work. I met my husband in my thirties. Our first date was magic. We met at a bar and stayed until closing. You have to connect and feel it, and I think that’s from first date! (I was actually not sure online, but there was enough to go on a date). I think it’s good you count your strengths and look after yourself. I wish you everything.

Those burrs/ spiky seeds are dangerous! My childhood dog had one that lodged in her leg and was travelling up a vein! She had to have surgery to take it out and the vet said it can go to the heart.

Im so glad you are going to the wedding. I don't think they would have invited you if they didn't want you there. Also for the sunburn...I am a fairskin redhead and have burned my entire life...steep some strong black tea. Let it cool, I like to put mine in the fridge because it feels so good on the skin. Get a paper towel or rag and dip it in the tea, blot it on your skin and let it dry. Repeat as many times as you like. Be aware that the tea stains clothes though. The tannins in the tea reduce the pain and the redness SO much...and bonus the tea gives you a little tan color!
Anyway,,thats my burn tip. I hope you feel better asap. Burns are the worst.

I have Psoriasis since the age of 3yrs old, so I can relate to you Daniel and today went into Sephora in Melbourne (aust) whilst there 20% brought Laniege skin care but some out of stock or not in Australia. And so thankyou for sharing with your skin products, now need to buy some other products to. Also being though the ringer on those dating apps tinder to bumble all the same, but however I've being speaking to someone for almost 3yrs and i think could be something there.
When I was young I occasionally took things that were not mine. In my young adulthood I crossed paths with a very wise person who told me, when we steal, we tell the universe that we don't trust or believe that we are worthy. Ever since then I work to put out messages of abundance and self worth, it's worked incredibly well!

I met my husband on a dating app after meeting up with a couple of people, one who looked nothing like his pictures and wanted me to help him move one meeting was enough, another had my life planned out for me within the first 30 minutes i was moving to turkey with him etc. He got kicked to the curb one meeting was enough again. Then my husband 8 years younger than me he was 28 when we met and i knew from the first meeting he was mine. 11 years later, we got married 3 years into our 11 years and we are still together he is my lover, best friend, my partner in all sense of the word. I am so pleased i met him. ❤
