    We visited here from Scotland in 2011. It was amazing. Spent a week in Bar Harbor. Loved taking the free shuttle bus to Arcadia. Cadillac Mountain was amazing. We didn’t manage to get to Jordon Pond. Wish we had. Thank you for bringing back some great memories!

    My wife and I took the Cat in 2003 for a weeks vacation to Nova Scotia. We stayed in Bar Harbor the day before and fell in love with the town and Acadia. We now go up up every three years with our Travel trailer. Hiking, biking and kayaking. I want to get back to Nova Scotia again. The coast of Maine has so much to see and do. Great video !!

    Thanks once AGAIN for a wonderful, fun, yet very informative video! I always look forward to the Newstate’s next one, as you have everything going for you: incredibly interesting places to visit; the best videography on UA-cam; both of you have terrific speaking or narrative voices; and, of course, you’re such a cute couple! I certainly know putting together a video that 99% of the public would like is a difficult job, but a question: Do you sit down with Yelp or some other platform, and decide where you’ll eat each meal, or do you get personal recommendations, or what? You always seem to have found the perfect places to dine! ALSO: my husband, Tim, says Maine is not particularly RV friendly, as several states are along the East coast. Have you had any difficulty finding places to stay there? Love and my very best wishes, Virginia.

    • @NewstateNomads
      @NewstateNomads  2 роки тому

      Aww Virginia! Thank you SO much!! Such high praise ❤😊 That means a lot to us! We do a lot of research ahead of time and it could be a mix of google reviews, other travel blogs, talking with locals or tourism boards! I would say Maine (and the East Coast in general) isn't boondocking friendly. It's much hard to find free camping out this way compared to the west. However, we never had an issue finding a spot an an RV park!

      Deborah, we're both right, AND (depending on time of year) wrong at the same time! 😂 NPS proclaims as we said in the video that Oct 6 - March 7 it's Cadillac Mtn. Lubec is definitely further east (and has the beautiful lighthouse which we visited in 2018) and is "first" for several weeks, but according to this article the sunrise is blocked for a full 5 minutes most of the year by a nearby island. It's an interesting quick read! Thanks so much for watching. 👍 -Howard newengland.com/today/living/new-england-environment/where-in-the-united-states-does-the-sun-shine-first/

      Thank you so much! I actually got it in Damariscotta at Maine Booch. He upcycles shirts he finds at thrift stores and adds his logo to the back. 😊

    Did you need reservations for the Jordon Pond House? TIA

      Hi there! The two times we've visited, we did not have a reservation. I think they do take them, but we didn't find it necessary. If you're on a tight timeline, you could call and check. They indicate on their website that 'new reservation slots open daily' but I didn't see a place to make a reservation. Hope that helps! Enjoy! ☺️

    Rocks vary because the granite came from many different areas in Europe. Plus ice age cut into them, at least three times, making the rock views remarkable. If you go to Central Park in New York, you can walk by giant granite boulders that are scored from the ice age. Lots of video on the subject of all these things. Have fun!

      Which is surprising given the popularity of nearby Acadia! We love this part of Maine, so much to explore. Thanks for watching, and hope you'll continue on the journey with us! 👍 Howard

    It's not 4 million visitors. It's 4 million visits bc people visit several times per week and per summer so it's actually around 1 million visitor's.
