    What an excellent presentation of the CAT! We've been on the Cat before, and will be again in '23. (This year without the truck and 5th wheel.) Anyone who is thinking of using the Cat from Maine to Nova Scotia and is having second thoughts, DON'T; you will not regret it

    I live in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and I want to thank you for giving some time on your video about this town. I was born here, adopted at birth, taken out of the country and moved back here in 09. Most of the videos I've watched about Nova Scotia made by travelers barely mention Yarmouth other than taking the ferry in or out of here. Cape Forchu gets mentioned even less. The part where you had Rappie Pie was interesting. I'm one of those who won't eat it. LOL I can't handle the texture. Opps. Sorry. lol Thanks for the great video of our beautiful province.

    I believe the reason the Church Point church was closed (even though it was normal hours) is because it is in need of a lot of repairs. Unfortunately the amount of repairs are too costly and it is likely going to be torn down. I grew up 20 mins from there, its very sad, and it wont be the same once it is gone. It was so cool to see it from up top with the drone footage!! Tallest wooden building in North America. Also so pleased you liked the rappie pie, thats our "turkey dinner" at every holiday or family gathering that is the meal!

    I have had a RV cross the Bay of Fundy coming out of Digby back to Maine. Loved Nova Scotia. More recently, I was touring England, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales with a tour group (30) on a Tour coach. Crossing the sea over to Dublin took 3 hours. As we approached the ferry the Tour Director played the theme from "Love Boat". It was hilarious. It was the same on the return back to Wales.

You do such an amazing job describing these places - it just makes me want to jump on that ferry and pop on over. Question - why did the RV have to be driven onto the ferry backwards and the passenger cars went on frontwards? Do the passenger cars turn at the end of the ferry and come out the same direction as the RVs are pointed in? Hope you’re all well and wishing you safe travels. Enjoy!

    WOW I am disappointed in myself, for not having viewed your channel till today. I noticed your video title and decided to watch. I though hey it is my home province
    Nova Scotia so I have to watch I love watching travel channels, some are very disappointing this is not one of them it fact I can wait to watch the rest of your videos,
    I will need to stay up to date on your adventures. I loved the energy and passion of your video and it’s extremely informative! I am definitely a new subscriber.
    I was raised on Cape Breton Island. I live on the opposite coast in Victoria BC we
    are a military family.
    I have had the privilege of working for the Nova Scotia Department of Tourism, in the Portland Maine office, many moons ago. Your content is better then most tourism videos, it make you want to go visit the area, thank you!!
    Your video is filled with beautiful historic landmarks and wonderful local businesses. I am very impressed with the extent of knowledge of events both historical and recent. I am very touch by the details you included in your video on the fire of St. John's Anglican Church in 2001.
    I can’t wait to see your video of my island my home Cape Breton, as well as your other videos. I am sorry I had not seen your channel till now. Better late then never, happy travels❤️

    • @daevien
      @daevien Рік тому

      @@NewstateNomads At least from what made it into the video, you missed a lot right in Yarmouth itself. The waterfront, historic buildings (much older than most places are used to), fire fighter's museum, yarmouth county museum (also a good area to start a walking tour, many of the buildings around it are historic sites), lawrence sweeney fisheries museum, if timed right there is a big music festival that brings in people from all over the maritimes, lots of restaurants and food options, etc.
      And that is just off the top of my head in the town limits, outside of it are tons of things such as the acadian village in pubnico, beaches, farmers markets, wildlife trails, etc.

    Kinda a day late and a dollar short here but after seeing this video going to Nova Scotia is now definitely on our go to. But was wondering how did you guys handle the money? Did you just exchange American for Canadian or did just work off debit card?

    • @NewstateNomads
      @NewstateNomads  Рік тому +1

      Shawn, you're going to love Nova Scotia, and great question! We try whenever possible to use credit cards with no international transaction fee (like our Amex cards or Costco Visa), and then find an ATM in the country to get the best possible exchange rate on some cash just in case. Currency exchange places are ALWAYS a bad deal compared to withdrawing local currency at an ATM. Thanks for watching and glad you're along for the journey! 👍 -Howard

      Interesting, Shannon, thanks for the tip! I'm not sure of the specific reason for the status, but whether it is for the layout or the historic architecture, we're glad it got UNESCO designation! 👍 - Howard
