Hey Wally - thanks for that - always fun to catch up with you. I heard it was VERY cold in Alberta - yikes. Take best care - play guitar and stay warm lad. Cheers! Shane

@@GuitarAtWork 'Building Basics' is a good idea. I think it would be instructive to periodically post basics, then a few vids of songs that incorporate the lesson, posting a lesson, followed by a few related songs. Was just watching a Buddy Holly movie this morning What you played reminded me of him ! He is the father of Rock and Roll ! Buddy Holly Rhythm and Blues !
Shane yes this is what I have been looking for. I got tired of just strumming songs and have been looking to move around the fret board. I have been playing around with some blues licks. This is really good and I hope you expand on it. Keep it going.

Hey second video from you that I have found invaluable, seriously the way you take this step by step means I can learn as I go, it's clear concise yet fun to learn, awesome job, thank you.
Hi Shane, I'm really enjoying this lesson. It's great to mix it up a bit with a bit of jamming, I can play along to my own backing track to my heart's content and make my own bits up as well! (Hidden Bonus - I don't have to sing!!! )🤣
Hey Michael - that's great! It sounds like you're on a very good path there. My best to you and thank you for taking the time to comment. Cheers! Shane

Thanks for your simplified and generous/gentle style, Shane. It helps that you seem like the kinda guy I'd find myself hangin' with over a beer/coffee and some good tunes with guitars in hand. Cheers! 🥂
Such a great breakdown; gives everyone a chance no matter their skill level. And in agreement with others that note how this kind of lesson gives us a chance to move around the fretboard and pick up some foundational skills. Might even want to throw in some related scales to aid with the finger movement. Thanks!
Great video Shane. I own the Aeros loop studio, Beatbuddy, and mini maestro, what a great combination. I’d appreciate some more blues if you get a chance.
Could you do a video on what software or amp you are using for that sound for this video? I have been working with Presonus Studio One. I sure would like to get direction so i could get that sound on my electric.
Great idea - thanks for that. I'm using an amp modeller/FX unit (Fractal AX8) with a bit of compression and some reverb. Plugged straight into the mixer and into the computer to record. Cheers, Shane
12-bar blues is deceptively difficult. It looks easy, but it's not. Especially if you've never done palm-muting before. This is a great play-along to practice with. Definitely adding it to my list. 🙂
